Chapter 3: Fight and win

Sakura knew he was good from the start, he watched her closely,
waiting for her to make the first move, she knew he would test her out
for weaknesses since he started with the defensive first, she would
make him have to fight back, that way she could see what his style of
fighting was like. Faking a forwards attack that only a fool would use
she flipped over the top of his head and landed soundlessly behind him
and struck Chokah sticks, she smiled in satisfaction, he had good
reflexes, and focus.

Syaoran liked her, she was an excellent opponent, fast and she tried
his abilities, he knew she was finding out what he could do, and knew
that this was just a work out for her, she had no sweat building up
from the flip and hard hit she used which still could be felt in his
hands where he had blocked her attack with his Chokah sticks, the
vibrations still rang through his bones as he was sure it still did
with her. She was close to him now, right, left, left, left, foot, and
block. She could see everything that was going on, could see what his
next attack would be, though she didn't intercept the kick to her
head. Sliding along the earth she felt her skin rip on a rock and she
stood up quickly, she looked at him, he was ready for her next attack
but the pain in her thigh was getting the best of her, quickly
glancing down she saw that the cut was deep, and she was losing blood,
but she had to show them that she was strong otherwise they would not
accept her offer.

Syaoran was surprised when the girl came at him again, from the side,
face on, almost in every direction, it was amazing, she was so fast,
and even with an injury she was able to continue at a constant speed,
he executed an arc slash which was too fast to dodge, it hit her
collar bone and she went down heavily, he knew that he had broken it
but she stood back up and hit his as hard as he'd hit her in the
stomach, he heard his ribs break and blood rolled down his chin, `must
be a punctured lung' he thought, taking up the fighting stance again,
he watched the girl look him up and down before throwing her Chokah
sticks down on the ground and fold her arms.

"What are you doing?" Syaoran asked throwing his to the side.

"We are not here to kill each other, if we wanted to do that we would
have stated so at the beginning of the fight, you have shown yourself
worthy of being what your tribe states and I can only wait until you
give your judgement on if you will accept the offer." Sakura watched
as the boy opened his mouth to reply tartly that she knew she was
going to lose and that was why she had stopped when his mother stepped
forwards.

"We agree to have a temporary peace and will strike as one against
this new foe, how far away are they?" She asked looking at the two
wounded youths.

"A day, no more and no less" she said knowingly.

"And how can you be so sure?" Syaoran asked, Sakura turned towards him
and smiled,

"Can you not see?" she asked. Syaoran looked at her questioningly and
the rest of the tribe laughed at his obliviousness at what she had
said. They all turned towards the see and just on the horizon were
small black dots, boats of the tribe that were going to try and take
over their island.

"No one can see what they are, and you can not possibly judge how far
away they are or how many!"

"Not true, I first smelt them this morning, it was the smell of
metallic blood, I then went to the council and told them, then on my
way here I spotted them, there are almost forty boats with twenty
people on board, eight hundred people, we can easily get rid of them
with our numbers combined, send the young and old to the mountains and
ready ourselves for battle, I will come back an hour before down
leading the Hirakyu force." Sakura bowed to the chief and her son
before sprinting off in the direction of her village. Syaoran looked
at his mother bewildered

"She is very strong, I can not understand it" Syaoran said. Yelan
smiled at her son.

"She has been through many battles in her past, this one is just
another to add to her collection." Syaoran looked a little depressed,
how could a girl have so many battles when she was so young? It just
wasn't right, none of his sisters had been through any battles,
emotional or physical, if seemed too unfair and the one they had just
now was a battle in which the girl had won, because her objective had
been conquered. Coughing up another spurt of blood Syaoran decided to
think later and to get healed now.

Sakura made it back to her village in record time, her wounds needed
attention as soon as possible, upon reaching the healing hut she
relayed the days events to her friend Tomoyo who then relayed them to
the council who begun preparations for the up coming war.
