Chapter 9

~*~*~*~*~

Sakura dashed into Potions. Fortunately, Snape had not yet arrived.
Unfortunately, Draco, Crabbe and Goyle were harassing the Gryffindors
again. Scowling uncharacteristically, she slammed her bag onto the
table. Draco turned to her smirking.

"What has gotten into the sweet Sakura? Turned into a crazy witch?"
Draco leered. Crabbe and Goyle snickered. Sakura felt like stomping
them into the ground. Then she thought of something Yue had told her.
~ "You must try to contact the cards through your mind, as Clow had
done. Otherwise, you will draw a lot of unwanted attention." ~

In that case... She concentrated on the cards. Hermione, Ron and
Harry, who were up till then busy answering back the three Slytherins,
noticed the unusual quietness of Sakura. In normal circumstances, a
card would have been out by then.

Arrow, please strike those three irritating Slytherins! She requested
from her card. In her mind, the Arrow appeared, with a smile on her
face.

~As you wish, Mistress Sakura~

Almost at once, the card in her pocket glowed faintly. Three bolts
struck the three teens, as Sakura had wished. Harry, Ron and Hermione
grinned in satisfaction. Arigatou, Arrow! She thought gleefully.

~You are welcome, Mistress Sakura~

~*~*~*~*~

Yue felt something, the something he would feel if Sakura had used her
cards. But he brushed it off- I can ask Sakura-sama afterwards. He
continued about Clow Reed. There was one thing annoying however. The
girls did not seem to be paying attention to Clow Reed, but to the
moon guardian himself. How irritatingly idiotic.

~*~*~*~*~

Snape swept into the classroom in his usual, albeit sneaky way.
Meaning, he had entered the classroom through the back door. "Miss
Kinomoto, the new student I see. You've caused quite a commotion when
you were sorted. In fact, a mini-celebrity. Well, well. I hope you
aren't as proud as our dear Mr. Potter." Two dark eyes fixed their
gaze on Harry. "As you might know, Potions does not need the use of
wands to do anything. Anything from curing someone from a stomachache
to giving someone the gift, the gift of death." The class went quiet.

Snape cleared his throat. "And another matter, Miss Kinomoto. I hope
you have studied your basic Potions. This question would be for the
first years. I think Mr Potter remembers them, don't you?" A steely
gaze.

"Yes." Harry answered firmly. He could not imagine a time when he had
hated Snape more.

"For example, Miss Kinomoto, where can I find a bezoar?"

"In a goat's stomach."

"Is it poisonous?"

"No, it is used in some cures."

"What is the difference between wolfsbane and wormwood?"

"No difference, sir."

"Very good, Miss Kinomoto, unlike Mr Potter."

The rest of the lessons proved to be a nightmare for Sakura and Harry.

~*~*~*~*~

"Thank you, class."

"Thank you Professor Snape." However, both the mistreated pupils put
as much mockery in their voice as they could. After they left the
dungeon, they headed off to the Gryffindor common room - their last
lesson, History of Clow was scheduled for forty-five minutes later.

Hermione walked briskly over to a table, where Ron and Harry were
teaching Sakura wizard chess. "Hi, Sakura. Since you know a lot about
Clow Reed, can you um, sort of give a headstart?"

Sakura smiled apologetically. "I'm sorry, but I'm afraid I don't know
much." Hermione stared slack-jawed at her.

"You captured the Clow cards and don't know anything about the history
of Clow?"

Sakura sweatdropped. "Well, Kero and Yue didn't tell me much."

"Well, why didn't you ask them?"

"School-work?"

"Well, what about the holidays?"

"Going out with Tomoyo-chan and the others?"

Hermione sighed. "Never mind. It's just that this is an exclusive
class, so I want to be more prepared! It's okay, I think I can
manage."

She walked away. Sakura sighed in relief. "Arigatou, Kami-sama." She
muttered.

"Okay, back to chess!" Ron interrupted her silent prayer.

~*~*~*~*~

Sakura sat next to an anxious Hermione. She had already gotten out
several sheets of paper, two quills and three bottles of ink just for
the notes alone. Sakura was frankly amazed. "You know what? You're
such a dedicated student, I think you would do something great in
future!"

Hermione colored. "Oh, err, thanks." Ron snickered.

"As if she will." A fist came flying his way.

"I certainly hope that won't happen all the time." A familiarly cool
voice, tinged with amusement remarked from the door. Hoe?! Sakura
snapped her attention to the front of the classroom.

Hermione colored once again. "Oh, I-it won't sir!" she stuttered out,
horrified at being reprimanded, by a new teacher no less!

Yue walked to the desk. However, he had refused to change into the
teachers' robes and had remained in his usual clothing. He sat on the
desk, arms folded.

"Alright, shall we begin the lesson?" his purplish-silver eyes swept
about the room. The Gryffindors and the Ravenclaws nodded.

"My name is Yue. And, does anyone besides Sakura-sama know about
Clow?"

Sakura found herself longing to use the Silent card on Yue. Yue! I'm
lucky that not one of them know what `-sama' means! She desperately
wished she could send telepathic messages as well. Unfortunately for
her, Yue could only sense her emotions. Her magic would have to
progress farther before she could send telepathic messages to Yue and
Kero.

Ron, Hermione, and Harry raised their hands in response to Yue's
questions. The moon-guardian-turned-teacher nodded curtly at them.
"Anybody else?" No one else's hands were raised.

"Clow Reed was a powerful magician who is currently reincarnated into
two." The class stared at him in bewilderment. "One of his
reincarnated forms is named Hiiragizawa Eriol. The other is named
Kinomoto Fujitaka and is the father of Sakura-sama." Now, all heads
turned to look at Sakura. Enough was enough. Silent, can you do a
favour for me? Can you keep Yue silent whenever he calls me `-sama'
and whenever he mentions something that has to do with me? The Silent
card appeared in her mind as Arrow had appeared and nodded. Her pocket
glowed faintly again. The three friends sitting next to her wondered
simultaneously who would be the unlucky person.

"Hiiragizawa Eriol is originally from England but later moved to
Tomoeda to help-" Yue stopped as he felt his throat constrict
slightly. Nani? He was utterly puzzled. Then he hit upon the Sakura
card's presence. Dame, Sakura-sama must have used the Silent card! He
thought sourly. Fine!

He picked up the chalk and wrote: He later moved to Tomoeda, Japan in
order to help Sakura transform the Clow cards into the Sakura cards.

Sakura was extremely, utterly, very annoyed. However, she could not
think of a single card to use right then, as all sixty heads were
looking at her, complete with `ooohs' and `ahhs'. Is this a history of
Clow, or a Biography of Kinomoto Sakura?

~*~*~*~*~

"I didn't think Yue was this stubborn," Eriol narrowed his eyes.
Tomoyo cleared her throat and proceeded to the next page rather
hurriedly. Nakuru, by this time had resumed her genkiness and began
her quest of making Touya angry.

~*~*~*~*~

Sakura sighed in relief and retrieved her cards as Yue began to
mention things about a thousand years ago, or rather when Clow Reed
had started to get famous. Along with that, he also went through the
details of the Li Clan.

"The youngest in the Li Clan right now would be Li Syaoran. He moved
to Tomoeda too, to take the Clow cards from Sakura-sama. However, when
he had to face against the Final Judgment, he lost. He is now back in
Hong Kong."

Sakura tuned out Yue's words for a little while as he went on to
himself and Kero. That was precisely when she noticed Lavender and
Parvati, the two best friends, staring at Yue like lovestruck idiots.
They were giggling rather quietly to each other. As were around, five
or nine other girls. She sighed. A voice derailed her thoughts. "Miss
Brown and Miss Patil, I would appreciate it if you stopped your
giggling. The same goes for the rest of you." He sent them his Ice
Glare!. The giggling subsided.

"Thank you. And class is over." He stalked out of the room.

AS Sakura walked out with Harry, Ron and Hermione, she could hear some
female voices- "Wow, that new professor is so cool" "He's so handsome
but so cold, Lavender," "Yeah, but then he told us that he was a moon
guardian of that Kinomoto girl and Clow Reed before her." Hermione
tsked tsked.

"Come on, we've got better things to do, like packing our things and
going to dinner!"

I haven't been spending as much time as I would like these few days. A
cousin came over to stay and I'm a wreck, but not so much as to put
this fic off. ^^ And a gomen nasai to the Lavender and Parvati fans
(although I don't think there are any) for making them out to be so
hideous in character, but in my opinion, THAT's their personality.
