Chapter 4: Nothing Less
--
“And I always take what is mine…”
He's Li Syaoran… Sakura thought as she succumbed to unconsciousness.
--
Sakura woke up, feeling warmer than she did last night. Her head was jumbled up with the images of the dawn and bits of what happened fleeting her memory. She opened her eyes and gasped as she saw a large pale pink room encasing her. There was a large three framed window parallel to where the four poster bed stood. There also was a large chest of drawers by the left wall with large paintings of flowers and butterflies hanging on that wall. Sakura shoved the white comforters off of her and glanced down at herself. She was wearing a midnight blue wrap.
The blue garment twisted of her right shoulder and spiraled down her body, ending just at the end of her knees. The cloth tied around her waist and if she undid the knot, the cloth would fall off her body. Sakura felt scrubbed; clean.
Where am I… Sakura thought as she sat back down on the bed. She pressed her head against the palms of the cupped hands and sighed heavily. I want to leave. She thought, desperately, I want to get out of here. Those two wolves, Ryuu and that other one- they lied to me… and then… Sakura frowned, How did I black out? I wasn't as tired as to lead myself to losing reality… I still had energy.
Syaoran must've done something. She concluded that much. She stared at the door and wondered if she should leave the room. Sakura wasn't sure what was on the other side of the door and she knew she wouldn't, in any chance, walk out of the damn room wearing a once piece wrap.
Sakura lay back down on the bed, staring at the cloth that hung on the four posters. So what am I going to do?
Her thoughts were cut off when a knocking came abruptly from the other side of the door.
“Ha-hai?” She stuttered out as a small woman opened the door.
“Mistress?” The girl's voice quivered and Sakura raised a brow.
Mistress? She frowned inwardly as she swung her legs over the side of the bed and stared at the girl.
“Mistress?”
The girl nodded. “Hai. I'm Kitty and the Lord Syaoran told us to refer to you as his Madame, our mistress. The Lord is asking for your presence for his noon snacking. He said your attire is fine for it is only he that is to be there.”
Sakura frowned. “What if I said no?”
Kitty shrugged. “The Lord said that you don't have a choice.”
Sakura twitched. “Wearing THIS?”
“No choice…”
Sakura shook her head, knowing that arguments would only lead to unnecessary violence and with her magic restricted, she wasn't about to take that chance. Her bare feet touched the cold floor and shivers ran up her spine as she followed Kitty out of the room. Her hands were clenched in front of her as she silently walked behind the petit girl.
The castle, Sakura had to admit, was amazingly beautiful and rather modern. There were cloth portraits as well as paint portraits hanging on every wall with every step she took. Occasional stands were placed with expensive vases adorning them as well as low hanging chandeliers, which Sakura had saw in her own world when she went to the North American Nation.
Large brass knobbed oak doors were scarcely spread and for some reason, Sakura knew that those rooms were empty. A very empty aura came from the rooms signaling that people use to live there but they moved.
Finally she arrived at an open courtyard. There was a large gazebo like deck past a set of glass gates. Trees and flowers crowded the deck as she saw Syaoran in the center with a table and two chairs. He was sitting one and Sakura assumed the other must be for her.
“Lord.” Kitty said as she bowed. Sakura tightened her hands in front of her as he looked up.
She had to admit, once more, that the man before her didn't compare to the beauty of the castle. Yes, he was a vile and very despicable man for kidnapping her but his feature complemented his personality. He had very lean features, that was for sure, with high cheek bones and Sakura saw traces of fuzz on his face.
He didn't shave…
He had amazingly bright amber eyes with wet chocolate brown hair plastered against his head. He was wearing baggy training pants and had no shirt on as he leaned against the chair, his arms behind his head.
“Morning Kitty,” he said before he regarded Sakura.
“Morning, beautiful.”
Sakura twitched as she stiffly walked over to the empty chair and stonily sat down as Kitty bowed and left. She made sure her wrap wasn't going to fall as she stared at Syaoran with the same intensity as he was staring at her.
“Had a nice sleep?” He inquired, almost casually like they've been doing this for years. “You were out all day and night.”
Sakura didn't say anything as Syaoran snapped his fingers, allowing two plates of dumplings to appear in front of them. Her eyes widened, never witnessing that type of power before. She calmed down and didn't touch the dumplings as her line of vision glared pointlessly at her dumplings.
“Talk?” He whispered.
“Why?”
Syaoran sighed as he leaned back. “Princess, look at me.”
Sakura looked up at him and found he had a small smile adorning his features.
“Can I know your name?”
Sakura was amazed at how nice he was being and thought, well if she was going to be here for such a long time (she really didn't know how long but it was evident she wasn't escaping anytime soon) might as well put a name to her face.
“Kinomoto Sakura.”
“Li Syaoran,” he nodded back as she started glaring at her dumplings again. Syaoran sighed heavily as he leaned forward.
“Listen Sakura,” he said in a rather harsh yet seductive voice, “I brought you here because you are mine. Nobody else's. I cherish those who belong to me and I sure as hell will give you extra care seeing as you are my other half. If I wanted, I could've beaten you to submission but I didn't. You still have your status as Princess Sakura.”
Sakura looked at him in the eyes.
“Nothing less.”
Sakura twitched. “Then why'd you get that… wizard to capture me and tie me up?” She said daringly.
“Who? Cousin Ryu?”
Sakura raised a brow. “Your cousin and wolf are both named Ryu?”
Syaoran chuckled. “Long story. Ryu captured you because I told him too. He tied you up but he didn't hurt you in any way shape or form. Princess, now that you are here, you will be nothing short of respected.”
Sakura's mouth was a perfect O as she looked back at her dumplings. Syaoran continued to study her features and was pleased with the fact that his future bride was as beautiful as he had hoped her to be.
“Aren't you going to eat?” He raised a brow as he leaned back in his chair. Sakura stiffened again before murmuring quietly.
“I'm not hungry.”
“Would you like to take a walk in my gardens?”
“I'm sorry,” She whispered, “but not really.”
Syaoran smiled softly as he stood up and bowed low, he looked up and caught Sakura's eyes before sending her a rather hidden wink.
“You will come to me intentionally.” He whispered as he stood up and started walking away.
“I won't force you.” And he left…
Sakura sat in her chair, tears building up behind her eyes. Why me? I refuse to marry him! I will not give in to him and allow him to take over me…
She lowered her head and rested it in her arms. Somebody- save me…
But one thing surprised her, that was for sure…
He allowed her to keep her status as Princess Sakura…
Nothing Less.
