Chapter 3: Mine
Wherever you are, Princess, he thought, I'll find you…
--
Sakura stumbled over some rubble as she scrambled up and continued running. Her kimono didn't even seem a pale colour anymore; it seemed grey almost with tears at random areas. She panted heavily as she slid down the trunk of a rock, breathing heavily.
Where am I? She asked herself as she continued to pant, unaware of the wolves that were slowly staring to surround her. Why do they want me here… who are they exactly? Sakura groped around the ground, hoping to find something to anchor herself to. She rested her head back against the trunk of the tree and closed her eyes, letting the cool splash of evening hair rustle through her hair and scrape past her face.
She cracked an eye open and found the snout of a wolf uncomfortably close to her face. Sakura blinked a few times to process what she saw before letting bout a blood curdling scream. The wolf seemed surprised before backing off a bit, allowing Sakura to realize that he was a friend, not an enemy. Sakura's eyes shone with fear as the wolf lowered his head into his front two paws and whimpered a bit, telling Sakura that he wouldn't dare hurt her. Sakura, who was now more confused than scared, raised a brow as she slowly focused her stare at the wolf. The wolf, sensing her slight calmness looked up with an impish smirk on his face
Welcome, Princess.
Sakura's eyes widened as she stared at the wolf. Fear danced through her being again as she slowly rose up, her back sliding against the rough bark of the tree.
Did he just- did he just… She shook her head before turning to leave when another wolf blocked her path.
Princess, she heard, the wolf's mouth opening, please don't run! We need your help…
Sakura blinked before panic started striking through her.
“I'm going insane,” she whispered, “I hear animals talking to me. Oh Kami-sama save me…”
Sakura made the instance to move when the wolf intercepted her, helplessness racing through his eyes.
Please- just listen to us… you're not going insane and yeah we're actually talking so please! I'm begging… please listen…
Sakura didn't know what to do. She shook her head as she rubbed her temples. “I'm going to kick myself later for this,” she murmured as she sat down, staring at the two wolves in front of her.
Thank you, the wolf bowed his head as it snuggled in the moldy grass, getting comfortable. Princess, this is an entirely long story and pray tell if you shall help us after but- please listen?
Sakura nodded.
I am Ryuu, the wolf said dryly, a Wolf named Dragon, amuses me every time. Ryuu shook his head, That is besides the point. Princess, you are not from this world am I correct? You are from the dimension we call the Universe.
Sakura nodded, listening, hoping this was a dream.
You can understand us because you are from the Clow lineage. Only that special bloodline can understand our words Princess. You can understand us and…Ryuu seemed restless, the Lord Syaoran can as well.
Sakura stared at the wolf.
The Lord of this- this Ookami Realm, Ryuu kept going, is Lord Li Syaoran. He carries his father and grand father and great grand fathers name and it is law that if he should have a son, his first and eldest son would be named Li Syaoran… that's besides the point, Princess we are in dire need of your help…
Sakura blinked. “Okay?”
The Lord, the other wolf spoke, is in absolute need of a bride and it is said that only a woman who possesses a great deal of magic is to be wedded with the Lords of the Ookami Realm, the realm you are in now Princess…
Sakura frowned, not expecting what was coming next.
Princess, we beg of you- he's becoming senile, he even brought you here… he'll kill us all… he's taken some of our family and trained them to be savage beasts and, Ryuu looked as if he was going to break down, he'll kill us all… Princess please… marry him.
Sakura's eyes widened as she shot up, a slight pain burning up her side. She stared at the wolves looking up at her before shaking her head. “No- I'm dreaming! This isn't happening… I'm not talking to a pair of wolves and I am definitely NOT marrying him!”
And she broke off into a sprint, leaving the two wolves in her wake. Ryuu sighed as he stood up, looking at his companion who was on the ground, sniffing slightly.
“Hitachi, get up.” Ryuu said. “We must follow her.”
Hitachi raised a brow as he cocked his head. “Why?”
“Lord Syaoran told us too…we're the only ones who found her and now she thinks we're good guys. Keep her strung onto our game for a while longer and the Lord has her…”
“And what if he doesn't get her?” Hitachi asked, his shining golden eyes shimmering under the resting sun.
“Then the Lord will take away our ability of speech. Let's go.”
Syaoran had granted each of his wolves the ability of speech and he had said that if they commit any acts that might go against his faithfulness in his wolves, their ability to form human words instead of feral shrieking would be dismissed and they would become as savages as they were many moons ago.
Hitachi gulped, thinking of returning to that and ran after Ryuu, his blood singing with the thirst of capturing the Princess.
I will do it, Hitachi thought, and make the master proud…

Sakura had tears stringing down her cheeks as she hugged herself tightly, standing alone in the middle of a beautiful area. It was an ovular clearing encapsulated within a very forestry atmosphere, with bunnies hopping about and birds twittering, doing their daily routine. Sakura wiped her tears clean as she spun a circle, examining and drinking in this fabulous land that was around her.
Ryuu said that this was the Ookami Realm… she recalled as she saw butterflies fly aimlessly, creating a heaven like atmosphere.
The Lord Syaoran has done a great job in turning this place into paradise. Much better than Earth… she thought. She was amazed that even in the dead of night, these animals continued on with their routine. She watched as the last of the birds retired to their nests and the bunnies burrowed in their dens once more.
A rise of loneliness settled in the pit of Sakura's stomach. There was no Tomoyo, nor her father, or even Touya there to comfort her in her grief. She was sent for a battle of her own survival skills to hide and defend against the ruler of the Wolfen lands, the Ookami Realm, Li Syaoran.
If what the wolves had said were true, then Li Syaoran wanted to marry her because of her magical background, nothing more. He was the ruler of his own realm; his own creation, passed down through generation from generation from his forefathers and even their forefathers. He had this legion of wolves that would do his bidding and he would stop at nothing to get her…
Eve if she was meant to be his unwanted bride.
Sakura clenched her fists, anger rising within her, interlacing with her tinge of fear. She was mad that he had kidnapped her yet abused her like so. She was mad that he restricted her powers in a land where he had the upper hand. And she was mad that he had even though of wedding her without any views from her whatsoever.
Then again, she thought, if he can kidnap me, restrict my magic and try to wed me- he shouldn't care about my views.
But she wasn't sure. Maybe he didn't want to wed her. Maybe those wolves worked for him. Sakura didn't know what to do… or who to trust.
An owl perched on the branch of a large tree, hooting away the melancholy. Somehow the owl's tune had soothed Sakura just a bit. She felt her muscles relax, even if the owl was like a vulture, a symbol of death or greed, it relaxed her, knowing she wasn't alone. She was unaware of how fast time flew because just as easily as dusk had come; dawn had arrived too.
She blinked a few times, realizing just how tired she was and how she longed for a change of clothing. She wanted to eat and soak her body in a tub of lukewarm water with her handmaids massaging her.
Sakura wanted her status back. She didn't want to be the hunted prey of a very greedy and vile man that would stop at nothing to get what he wanted.
She was the prize in this game.
Sakura closed her eyes, unaware of the shadow that stalked her. The sun slowly stared peeking out past the treetops as the moon that circulated around this realm, a jaded green moon, hid behind the streaks of light that the sun shot out.
She rubbed her head eyes and shifted from foot to foot, feeling rather dirty and messed up at that moment. Sakura went to move when she felt an arm snake up around her waist and another hand rest at her shoulder. She tensed as she started to struggle, her voice caught in her throat.
“Relax…” the voice was soft and feathery, yet dark and husky. She felt her body tense up even more as she stopped thrashing. She felt a rough hand caress her long neck as hot breath crawled up by her cheek.
“I'm not going to hurt you…”
Sakura closed her eyes, thinking of a way she could escape but she felt him squeeze her waist slightly, not so much as to discomfort her but enough to show her that he was in charge.
“I think my wolves,” her eyes widened as she saw the two wolves from the previous night, “have told you who I am…”
Her heart raced as his lips came extremely close to her ear.
“And I always take what is mine…”
He's Li Syaoran… Sakura thought as she succumbed to unconsciousness.
