Digicabana

(Based on the song "Copacabana," with apologies to Barry Manilow )

Her name is Kari,
She's Digidestined
With red barrettes in her hair
And her gloves way up to there
She would battle
With her Gatomon
She never tried to be a star,
TK was never very far
In every digi-war,
they had fought before,
They were young and they had each other
Who could ask for more?

At the Digi, Digicabana
In a forest or on the savanna
At the Digi, Digiacabana
Fighting with passion is always the fashion
At the Digi .... they fell in love.

His name is Davis, he is a new one.
He was transported who-knows-where,
He saw Kari fightin' there
And when she finished,
He walked on over.
But Davis went a bit too far,
TK ran there from afar,
And the digivolutions flew,
And digiblastings too.
There was fire and a glowing arrow shot
But just who hit who?

At the Digi, Digicabana
In a forest or on the savanna
At the Digi, Digiacabana
Fighting with passion was always the fashion
At the Digi .... she lost her love

Her name is Kari, she's Digidestined
But it was ten years or more
Since they last had a war.
Now it's peaceful,
But not for Kari
Still in the gloves she used to wear,
Red barrettes in her hair.
She will not go back there,
She just doesn't care.
She lost her youth and she lost her TK
It gave her quite a scare!

At the Digi, Digicabana
In a forest or on the savanna
At the Digi, Digiacabana
Fighting with passion is always the fashion
At the Digi .... don't fall in love
Don't fall in love

Author's notes: This is the "fic that refuses to die." As much as I hate this piece, it keeps popping up and insisting to be re-posted. "Digicabana" is one of the first pieces I ever posted, as well as the first piece I ever pulled down. It's also a straight song parody.

"Copacabana" is one of those songs that never leaves your head. When it first came out, it was my favorite song.

Sadly, this song sticks with me so much that I'm also working on "Digicabana, the Remix," which is more of a songfic version, rather than a song parody. The Remix will also have different characters and will focus more on story content.
