Chapter one

By White Rain

~~~
A girl with long silver hair and blue eyes was sitting in a field of flowers.
She wore a long silver dress and wore a chain with a crescent moon charm hanging down her neck. Likewise on her forehead was a yellow crescent moon. This was the mark of the royal family on the Moon.
She was not in the field alone, a boy with short black hair stood not far away from her.
The girl picked a flower and began to twirl it around.
"Who are you?" the boy asked.
The girl looked up and smiled but said nothing. The boy found her familiar but he didn't know how. He'd never met her before, and he was sure he'd remember her if he did.
"Please tell me who you are?" the boy pleaded.
The girl just looked at him with a friendly smile...
~~
Beep, Beep!
Gohan groaned, and opened his eyes. He was back in his room. "That was sure a strange dream." He muttered.
"What was it about?" a small voice asked.
Goten turned to his four-year-old brother who seemed to be the exact Duplicate of his father.
"It was just strange a girl was in a field of flowers."
"Was she bad?" his brother asked.
Gohan ruffled his brother's hair, "No, don't worry about it Goten."
That was good enough for Goten. He adored his big brother. He had almost blind faith in his brother and knew Gohan wouldn't lie.
"Breakfast!" their mother Chichi called.
"Goody!" Goten cried and ran out of their room in his pajamas.
Gohan laughed slightly, he was so much like his father. Not only did he look exactly like him; he acted and had a similar personality.
This made Gohan sad and happy at the same time. Their father, Goku, had died about 4 years ago. Goten had never met his father...
Gohan shook those thoughts off; he didn't want to dwell on the past any longer, besides if he didn't get the table soon Goten might eat everything.
~~~

When he got to the kitchen, indeed, Goten was eating everything in sight. He eating it at an alarming rate. Gohan didn't seem to think anything of it because he sat down and began to eat just as fast and as much as his little brother.

Their mother turned to her two sons. No matter how she tried she couldn't seem to install any table manners into her two sons. It was all because of the Sayjin in them, she supposed.

Not that it stopped her from telling them to eat slower or else she wouldn't make them any more meals.

Gohan and Goten knew it was just a bluff, but didn't take any chances and began to eat more civilly. Not a civil as their mother wanted them too, but she took what she could get (for the moment anyway).

After the boys had stopped eating, Goten asked, "Can Gohan play with me today?"

"Gohan has to study today." Chichi said.

Goten pouted, "He studied yesterday."

Gohan didn't get into their argument it was sort of a routine. Goten didn't usually get his way, but he always tried.

Chichi thought about it for a moment. For once Gohan was on top of his studies and he was level above most people his age. "If Gohan finishes all of his morning work I'll let you play after lunch okay?"

Goten grinned, "Can Trunks come over too?" Trunks was his best friend. Much to Goten and Trunks advantage their mothers were also best friends.

"I'll call Bulma."

Goten turned to his brother, "Get to work so we can play later!"

"Okay," Gohan said. He was surprised that his mother gave in so easily, but he wasn't going to complain. He didn't mind studying, but he studied so much it would be nice to have an afternoon off.

When he was in his room he took out a book on quantum physics and began to read it.

After about twenty minutes he had read the directions and understood it and began to do some work from the first chapter.

After a few minutes he had finished a third of the problems, he didn't really understand how people thought that it was hard. It wasn't simple, but it wasn't as hard as when he first learned trigonometry.

It wasn't long before he finished the assignment. He went through the rest of his books quickly.

English, Japanese, French, Ancient History, Astronomy and Scottish history where some of the subjects he was studying that morning.

When he wrote the last line in his summery of "A Scottish Dream"* he took out another piece of paper and idly began to sketch the spider that was making a web on his window seal.

The one thing Gohan loved to do above most things was draw. No one knew, not Krillen, not Piccolo not even his father. (But to be fair, he hadn't discovered his love for drawing until his father died.)

He didn't know if he was even very good. One of the reasons he probably liked it because no one had made him do it. Decided to draw or not was completely his decision and that was something he liked. Not only that but he felt a certain freedom when he was creating something with his pencil.

"Gohan, Gohan" cried two voices.

Gohan turned around to see his spiky haired brother and his purple haired best friend.

Gohan casually put the work-in-progress drawing in his drawer and said, "What can I do for you?'

"Its time for lunch." Goten said. Gohan glanced at the clock on his desk and saw that it was indeed noon. It was hard to believe how fast time had gone by.

"Your mom cooked, and my mom didn't help at all." The purple haired boy, named Trunks said.

Gohan laughed lightly, Bulma (Trunks's mother) might be an expert on most math's and sciences but she never go down the whole cooking thing. Not that Gohan could say anything; he once set his father's hair on fire from on of his 'creations'.

"Mom said we couldn't eat until everyone was at the table." Goten said as he and Trunks both grabbed a wrist and dragged him to the kitchen.

~~~
When the arrived there they not only say Chichi, Bulma, but Bulma's husband Vegeta.
Chichi set the last dish of food on the table and said, "Did you finish your homework?"
"Yes," Gohan said, sitting down.
"Goody, then you can play with us!" Goten said.
Trunks smiled, but his attention was focused more on the food on the table. He remembered all too well when his mother put applesauce in the potato soup once claming it 'needed texture.'
Vegeta was sitting down next to Bulma. He figured if there was one think Kakarot's wife was good for, it was cooking, that was the only reason he came over. Or at least that is what he'd say on the record.
Trunks, Goten, Chichi and Gohan sat down and the Sayjin's began to eat at an alarming rate. Most people would have been sick or at least surprised about how fast they could eat and how much they could put in their stomachs, but Chichi and Bulma had long since gotten used to it.
Goten and Trunks finished first and began to bug Gohan.
"Are you done yet?" Goten asked.
Gohan shook his head and grabbed a chicken leg and a bun and gobbled them up.
"Are you done yet?" Trunks asked.
"No." Gohan replied and began to dig into a bowl of rice.
"When will you be done?" Goten asked, deciding that one more bite of chicken wouldn't hurt him. As you can probably tell one bite of chicken was equivalent to half of the chicken to Sayjins.
"Are you done yet?" Trunks asked.
"Are you done yet?" Goten asked.
"Are you done yet?" Trunks asked.
"Leave Gohan alone," Chichi told to two boys.
"Let him eat." Bulma added.
Vegeta said nothing; he was rather enjoying the meat loaf, and the rice, and the corn and the chicken and the turkey loaf and the buns... heck he enjoyed everything he put into his mouth. He figured that was the reason Kakarot married that woman, Kami knows he loves to eat.
Gohan put his chopsticks down, and Goten asked eagerly, "Are you finished?"
"Yes." Gohan said and the two energetic demi-Sayjins took his hands and led him outside.
"What do you want to do?" Gohan asked.
Instead of replying Trunks and Goten began to attack the older boy.
Gohan was caught off guard only for a moment until he began to block their punches and kicks that were too fast for most humans to see.
Gohan kicked Trunks out of the way and leapt into the air. He threw a small energy blast at Goten and dove down at Trunks.
Trunks was ready this time and landed a solid roundhouse kick on Gohan.
Gohan was only phased for a moment, but that gave Goten just long enough to get in a few kicks at his side.
Gohan narrowed his eyes and grabbed Goten's wrists and flipped him back. He kicked Trunks under his chin and did a few back flips to slow down his momentum.
Goten and Trunks grinned at each other and sent a series of blasts at Gohan.
Gohan easily dodged or deflected Trunks's blasts but Goten didn't have as much control so he had so send his divert his blasts away from the house.
Trunks and Goten ran out of fire after about ten minutes and were astonished to see Gohan had barely broken a sweat while they were panting.
Trunks, never to give up began to attack Gohan. Gohan in turn flew up, but Trunks just climbed up with him.
Gohan for just the right moment and kicked Trunk down.
This didn't stop Trunks who got right back up and began another series of punches and kicks.
"NO FAIR!" Goten cried, "I CAN'T FLY!"
Gohan stopped, but not after Trunks got in a good punch on his jaw.
"You mean you can't fly?" Gohan asked.
"No," Goten pouted, "mom doesn't know how to fly."
"You mean mom's been training you?" Gohan said landing gracefully, when they were fighting,
Gohan never had the time to stop and think who trained him.
Gohan couldn't believe that his mom, who made him study during the time of the Cell Games, who hated for him to fight, was actually training Goten. He was just a little jealous, but he shrugged it off.
"I could teach you if you want." Gohan said.
Goten lit up, "really? Wow! That will be so cool! Lets start! Let's start! I wanna fly! I really, really wanna fly!"
Gohan laughed, "You already know how to control Ki, sort of. So it shouldn't be too hard."
"What do I do?" Goten asked.
Trunks sighed, he figured it would take a long time for his best friend to learn how to fly. He couldn't get the simplest things. Trunks was showing him how to do simple math expressions and Goten had fallen asleep. Anyone could figure out 3x+22-y=50!
"All you have to do is take your energy from you stomach and sort of push it down." Gohan said, not exactly sure how to explain it.
Goten closed his eyes and did what his brother said and rose up, he opened his eyes and cried, "I'm a birdie!" He laughed and began to flip and fly around in circles.
Trunks and Gohan were incredibly surprised, but Gohan reasoned, he shouldn't be after all, Goku learned techniques incredibly fast, and Goten probably inherited that gift.
Trunks couldn't believe that Goten learned how to do it less then an hour, it had taken him days to grasp the technique.
"I can fly, I can fly, I can fly!" Goten sang.
"Goten! Don't go to high, you haven't quite mastered it yet," Gohan cried and no sooner then he said that Goten fell began to fall down.
Goten's eyes widened in fear.
