Chapter five
By White Rain
Gohan couldn't believe it. He was losing. Badly, at that. It seemed that every time he landed a punch on
Piccolo he received ten more blows.
Gohan knew he was out of shape, but he couldn't have gotten this far behind, could he? Distracted by his thoughts, Piccolo punched and sent him flying.
"Where is your focus? I know I taught you better then that!" Piccolo barked.
Gohan chose not to respond as he pulled himself up and let out a furry of offensive attacks.
Piccolo easily dodged his attacks and began to counter them. Gohan's offence only could last for a few moments.
Thinking of only one option, Gohan fired a small Ki blast into Piccolo's stomach and back flipped a few times.
That's more like it Piccolo thought and dove into Gohan with a series of punches quicker then an untrained eye could see.
It was strange. Gohan could see the attacks coming and knew how to block them. He growled and let out a strong Ki blast only fall to his knees breathing heavily.
"I don't get it." Gohan muttered under his breath. He had that same feeling as if something was restraining his powers and no matter how hard he tried he couldn't seem to tap into them.
"What's wrong, kid?" Piccolo asked, wondering what exactly his young friend didn't get.
Gohan sighed, "I don't know if I can explain it. I just have this feeling something is holding my power back."
"Power up as high as you can go."
Gohan nodded and closed his eyes. He summoned his ki to the core and let it out with a piercing scream. A golden aura surrounded him. He opened his now blue-green eyes and said weakly, "I did it."
Piccolo had a nagging feeling his eyes widened in shock, "GOHAN Power down!" but it was too late.
~~~
Gohan opened his eyes and groaned. His whole body felt like Bulma had cooked it. He took a closer look and recognized that he was in the garden again.
It sort of hard to stand he thought. I should sit down. But, before he had a chance to, he felt himself slipping. Before his body completely crashed on the ground, someone caught him and held him gently.
"Are you okay?" asked the voice he recognized as Bunny's.
"If feeling like your whole body has been through hell and back, yeah."
Bunny laughed softly. She closed her eyes as a silver aura began to surround her.
Gohan felt like his body was on air for a few moments.
"Feel better?" Bunny asked.
Gohan sat up on his own and looked at her, "Yes, did you heal me or something?"
Bunny nodded, "My powers aren't as strong as Saturn's, but I can mange to heal every once in awhile without fainting."
"Thank you." Gohan said with a smile.
Bunny grinned back. She stood up and grabbed Gohan's wrist and pulled him up. "Come on!" she said and ran ahead of him.
Gohan laughed, as he raced to keep up with her, "Where are we going?"
She cocked her head and her eyes twinkled, "that's for me to know and you to find out. Race you there."
As she began to run again, Gohan said in protest, "But I don't know where we're going!"
"That's why I know I'll win. You have to stay behind me." She said gleefully.
"Cheater!" Gohan cried as they ran across the garden, Bunny in the lead.
After no more the ten minutes of running, Bunny stopped at a cave.
"Where does this lead to?" Gohan asked.
Bunny said, "I don't know." She paused for a moment "normally I would never do anything like this."
Gohan sensed her nervousness; "It can't be too bad?"
"Yes it can!" she squeaked, "there could be monsters or spiders or-" she was cut off as Gohan pulled her into the cave.
"I'll make sure nothing happens to us."
Bunny looked deeply into his soft black eyes, and knew she could trust him. "Okay."
Gohan smiled softly at her as the duo made their way through the cave.
"Why does it have to be so dark?" Bunny grumbled.
Just as Gohan was going to reply, a light began to shin through.
"Should we follow the light?" Gohan asked, in mock thoughtfulness.
"Let me through," Bunny said and tried to push through. Gohan caught by surprise, didn't get a steady balance and fell out of the cave with Bunny on top of him.
A soft blush formed on Gohan's face as he looked up at the blue ocean that was Bunny's eyes. Why do I want to kiss her, all the suddenly? He asked himself.
Bunny, to had trouble tearing her eyes of Gohan's.
For a moment, time seemed to stand still as the two stared into each other's eyes.
Gohan heard something and gently moved Bunny off of him. He turned his head and saw an astonishing site.
A waterfall started at a cliff high in the air, and fell into the sparkling clear water. Lush green plants and flowers grew around the water bay.
"Wow." Bunny said.
"I know." Gohan replied. "I never knew anything like this was on the moon."
"Neither did I and I've lived here all my life."
"I feel as if I've been here before. Something seems to draw me to it."
"Me too."
~~~
Piccolo shook his former students' body, hoping to get him to wake up.
"GOH-" Piccolo stared but was rendered speechless. Sparkling silver light began to surround Gohan and fell on to him. Piccolo watched as the light began to heal him.
Piccolo had seen a lot of things in his life. He had experienced that eating a certain magical bean can heal you in moments. He had seen with his own eyes when Trunks from the future beat Freiza and King Cold without breaking a sweat, when it had taken everything the Z fighters had to beat him the first time. Heck he could re grow any part of his body as long as he still had his head in tack. Hell he was an alien. But, even he had never seen a light come out of no where and heal anyone.
Piccolo then noticed that he could sense Gohan's power, but it was strange. It was like he was sensing it from far away, but it was as strong as if he was standing next to you. It wasn't very noticeable, unless you were very in tune to the Person's Ki, which in fact Piccolo was.
He lifted Gohan in his arms, "Come on kid. I'll take you to Dende, and see if he knows anything."
~~~
Krillen looked at the clock in the living room. Where was Gohan? If he didn't come back before Chichi came home, then Chichi would, well he didn't want to think of what Chichi would do to him.
At least the kids are busy. Krillen thought. It was lucky for him that a marathon of Yu-Gi-Oh! Was playing. Hopefully it would keep the kids busy.
Krillen suddenly felt Gohan's Ki drop considerably. Damn. What should I do? I can't just leave the kids here, but what if Chichi came back and no one was home? He turned his attention to his daughter, and I don't want anything to happen to Marron. I'll just let Piccolo handle it.
After a few minuets, Krillen let out a sigh of relief. Gohan's Ki had risen to its normal level.
"Krillen, I'm hungry." Goten said, when a commercial aired.
"Me too!" Trunks said.
Marron turned her head to her father; "I'm not! I'm thirsty."
Krillen groaned and made his way to the kitchen. Then he noticed Gohan's Ki going further away, probably to the Lookout. He groaned again.
He then heard a car park recklessly; the only way Bulma knew how to drive. He turned to look out the window. His worst fear was confirmed.
He looked up and rose his arms in defeat, "Why me? What have I done? I know I don't have that much bad Karma built up on me!"
The door opened and Chichi and Bulma walked in with bags of clothes.
"Hey, Chichi, Bulma"
"Where is Gohan?"
Goten ran in the kitchen with Marron and Trunks on his heals, "He's training with Mr. Piccolo!"
Chichi turned her eyes to Krillen.
If looks could kill, Krillen thought. "It's a funny story, really!"
