Golden Sun: A New Saga
Chapter 5
"AAAAAAAH!!"
The eight Adepts seemed to be falling down a sort of time and space
distortion. It was
pulling them down with great force. They had seen a great light at the
bottom, and
then they lost conciousness...
When they awoke, they had found themselves in front of some ancient ruins.
Mia was the
first to wake up. Brushing the dust off of herself, she tried to wake Sheba
first. "Sheba?
Are you alright?" "ugh...Nnnnnng..." Sheba stood up. "I'm alright. Go check
on everyone
else." Jenna, Piers, Isaac, Felix, Garet, and Ivan all woke up. Mia said,
"It seems the
time warp was successful and we somehow ended up in these ruins in the
future." A gust of
wind blew, scattering dust across the ground. "I know Alex is here...I can
feel it."
Mia and her companions entered.
As they entered a room with stones on the floor , they had stumbled across a
treasure chest.
"A treasure chest? In a place like this?" Jenna asked. "Wait," Piers said.
"It'd be best to see
what it holds."He opened the chest, and found a piece of paper. "What is
that?" Isaac asked,
wondering. Felix said, "I take it that is some sort of map. Let's take it
and proceed."
As they traversed the dangerous terrain, soon they came across a giant
waterfall. "a
giant waterfall?" asked Ivan. "Hey, there could be a probability that this
leads to
the next chamber. I saw it in the map." Garet immediately ran to the
waterfall. "Garet,
wait!" Jenna cried. "Huh!?" Suddenly the shallow water Garet was running
through turned
into a sheet of ice. Garet was trying to maintain balance on the slippery
ice. Then,
the waterfall froze solid. Garet crashed into the frozen waterfall and
collapsed.
Ivan immediately rished to his aid. "You alright?" Garet tried to get up,
and
after slipping several times, succeded. "Man! It must have been an illusion
or something."
Suddenly a puddle appeared. Ivan yelled, "Yeah, well, is THAT an
illusion?!!?" A blob of water
seemed to emerge from it, and soon it took the shape of a woman. The blob
then froze, and
then the woman's features appeared, along with an icy blue dress she wore.
Her eyes were
icy blue, her hair was icy violet, and her whole skin seemed to be composed
of ice.
Mia said, "Amazing! It's like something from a beautiful dream." The icy
figure rushed
toward Sheba. "Or maybe a horrifying nightmare!" She yelled. The icy goddess
started strangling Sheba. "Sheba!" Garet yelled. "Hack...ack...." "Hold on,
Sheba!" Garet
used a new psynergy called Flame Sword. His sword was surrounded by flames.
He struck
the icy figure. As the blade slashed her, she screamed. Steam seemed to come
out of
her, and she melted until she formed back into a puddle, and the puddle soon
became a part
of the ice. Soon the ice melted and the waterfall was back to normal. Sheba
was gasping for air.
"Wait," Piers said. "I can decipher the writing on the map. It says, 'Those
blessed with Water's
power have to pass first, and then the seal shall be broken.' Alright Mia,
let's go." Piers and
Mia passed, and not once did the waters freeze. As they passed through, the
seal broke. "Alright,
it's safe. We can go!" The others passed through.
The next chamber looked as if it were an icy cave, as icicles stuck out of
the ground and
the walls were glazed with ice. The Adepts were all amazed. Suddenly, Mia
stopped. She
seemed to hear Alex's voice calling. "Mia!!" "Alex....?" "Did you find
something?" Piers asked.
"....No, It's nothing..." Mia thought, Alex...calling me? What could that
have to do with here?
The eight adepts pressed on...
Soon, the adepts came across a barrier similar to the waterfall, but then
again different. There
was a wall of fire, with an opening at the end. Piers said, "This is just
like the freezing water-
fall we saw earlier. This time, Fire adepts have to pass through to break
the seal." But when
Jenna tried to pass through, the flame wall closed and Jenna's sleeves
caught on fire. Mia said,
"Douse!" The flame was extinguished. "Why did that happen?" Jenna asked. "I
was almost there."
Suddenly, just like the waterfall, a flame pillar started forming. It seemed
to form a cyclone,
and then a woman with blazing red hair, a ruby red dress, and flame-red eyes
formed. "This is
just like the one when we entered the icy chamber!" Jenna exclaimed. Piers
yelled, "DIAMOND
BERG!!!" Suddenly giant ice stones tore through the fiery figure, and it
vanished in smoke.
Piers then said, "This time, you have to time your pass through in order to
break the seal."
Garet said, "Okay..." He immediately jumped through the opening in the fire
wall. Jenna then
followed. The fire wall vanished. "Alright, let's go..."
As they entered the chamber, Mia heard a voice that sounded like Karst.
"Ahahahaha!!!"
Mia stopped cold in her tracks. Garet asked, "What is it?" Mia said, "I
thought I heard
Karst..." Sheba said, "You know, this is starting to be more and more like
what Selenia
said..." They kept walking. Little did they know that a black-haired man and
woman and
a white-haired man were watching them....
Then they came across three barriers that changed quickly. First, a
watterfall appeared, but
soon it froze and then changed into the fire wall, which then changed into a
wind current
with lightning strikes every now and then. Piers said, "The writing on the
map translates,
'Those blessed with the powers of Alchemy have to pass quickly and precisely
to break the
seals.'" Piers and Mia passed through first, and the waterfall seal was
broken. Then Garet
and Jenna passed, and the firewall was broken. Finally, Sheba and Ivan
passed, and the wind
seal was broken. Then Isaac and Felix passed. "Okay..." said Mia. "We got
past all the barriers.
Now what's left is to see what lies beyond...."
They entered a huge chamber, with what looked like tree branches and a
crystal hanging from
the ceiling. "I can sense...Alex...calling me..." Mia said. "Muahahahah...."
said a very
familiar voice. A very familiar being appeared. "Karst!" yelled Jenna.
"So....she IS alive?"
asked Sheba. "Ah ha ha ha...yes, as you can see....Agatio and I were sealed
within the Mars
Lighthouse Beacon, as well as Saturos and my sister within the Venus
Lighthouse Beacon. But
when the 4 beams shot toward the heart of Weyard, it had opened up the
gateway to Cirenia...
A seal that has not been broken for a long time...We had miraculously been
restored, body
and soul, and now we have the perfect time to exact our revenge!!!...But I
shall not fight
you in person. Instead..." She seemed to whistle. "Lich! Take care of these
brats!" Karst
laughed sinisterly and flew off. "Karst! Come back!" Mia yelled. Garet said,
"Who cares about
Karst! We have something else to contend to!" Everyone drew their weapons
and fought. Sheba
had used a new summon called Genie, by using four Venus Djinn and nine
Jupiter Djinn.
It had eliminated Lich once and for all.
Garet said, "Looks like we defeated it......" Mia said, "Yeah....Ugh!" She
felt a spasm of
pain. "Mia? Are you ok?" asked Ivan. "Huh?...Yeah, it's nothing..." Suddenly
she heard a
screeching noise, and then Alex's voice. "....Alex?" Suddenly she seemed to
be levitating,
just like the vision at Mercury Sanctum. "Mia! What is going on?!"
"Aaaaaaaaaah!" Mia was
being pulled to the top. Suddenly she vanished..."Where is Mia?" Isaac
asked. Felix replied,
"I don't know. It feels like we've been cut off from her..."
Mia was standing on an upside-down branch. "Where am I?" She heard Sheba,
Jenna, Felix, Piers,
Garet, Ivan, and Isaac talking. "Isaac! Garet! Sheba! Jenna! Everyone! Can
you hear me?"
Yet they did not hear her....She crouched down, shivering. "I'm all
alone...How could this
happen?" Suddenly she heard Alex's voice calling her. "Mia..." "A-Alex?....
"I am right
behind you." However, the voice was heard in her mind...She turned around,
and was shocked.
The dream at Mercury Sanctum was becoming clear. Alex was inside a blue
crystal, his
arms folded against his chest, and his eyes closed. He did not move. Mia
seemed to be under
a spell. "A...lex..." Mia, Alex said in Mia's mind. I have been waiting a
very long time...
Mia said, "Alex...I..have...been waiting..for you too......" She then walked
to Alex inside
the crstal and miraculously, her hand reached through. She touched Alex's
hand, and both
of their hands glowed....
Suddenly, there was a tremor felt by the others and the place started to
crumble. "Aah! What's
happening!?" Sheba yelled. "I don't know...This place is starting to cave
in!" Jenna exclaimed.
"Quick! Let's go!" Felix said. "But we can't leave Mia!" Piers cried. "I am
afraid that we have
to..." Isaac said. They ran out of the chamber. Piers stalled, and saw Mia
and Alex on the
ceiling..."Piers! Let's go!" Sheba yelled. Both ran out.
Mia was still under a spell as she continued to hold Alex's hand. "Alex...."
Soon the branches
fell, along with the crystal, and the ground collapsed, leaving a great body
of water. Mia
fell, and while looking up at Alex, thought, Alex.... I am sorry.... SHe and
Alex then fell
into the water....
The others had continued running. "We're almost there...." Isaac said.
Suddenly, Sheba slipped.
"Sheba!" Jenna yelled. "AAAAAAAAAAAAH!!" Suddenly, the ceiling began to cave
in on them....
The adepts looked up at the ceiling, and time seemed to freeze. Then there
was a great light...
