Chapter 12
AUTHOR'S NOTE: Sorry I have to start this over.....I just got Windows
XP into my PC system and it wiped out all fanfic files inc. ch. 12 ><
I have to start over now......
Luna Lighthouse was lit, and now our heroes must light the Sol
Lighthouse, otherwise doom will befall Cirenia....
Garet said, "What now, Gina?" Gina replied, "We must head for Crystallia
Palace." All the Adepts boarded the Terranigma. Lily told Mid, "This is urgent!
We must inform Queen Selenia right away!" Mid said. "Okay. Crystallia Palace, here
we come!" They headed there.
As they walked inside, Queen Selenia greeted the Adepts. "What happened?" she asked.
Gared said, "Bad news, Queenie. The---" Ivan nudged his arm. "Show manners!" he whispered.
Garet whispered back. "Alright!" He continued. "As I was saying--" Gina cut in. "The Luna
Lighthouse beacon has been lit, and the power of light is growing fainter as we speak."
Lily joined in. "We need to light the Luna Lighthouse." Joel added, "It's an emergency."
Garet whispered to Gina, Joel, and Lily, "Hey! No fair! I wanted to say that!"
Selenia said, "Yes, I will allow you to go to Luna Lighthouse. Take Princess Serenity with
you." Princess Serenity walked out. "Are you guys ready?" she asked. "Yes," Isaac said.
So they set off..........
When they arrived, they found a bloodshed of soldiers, some dead, some dying, some even
in critical condition. Serenity walked up to a dying soldier and asked, "What happened?"
The dying soldier said,"Ugh..Princess........two...strange-looking people......overwhelmed
us....now I'm damned..to wander this world for...ev.........er............." He drew his
last breath and died. "Damned to wander this world forever?" Mia asked. Serenity replied,
"I'll tell you about that later. Please go to the Lighthouse! I'll make sure the soldiers
are safe." "Okay," Samuel replied. While Serenity stayed behind, the others headed into
the lighthouse.....
As they walked inside, they noticed the interior was just like Luna Lighthouse, except the
walls were a golden yellow and the symbols of Mars and Mercury were on the wall. They also
noticed a little boy walking around, just like the little girl in Luna Lighthouse. "What's
a kid doing here?" Alex asked. The little boy had golden blond hair and gold eyes. "I dunno,
but he's creeping me out!" Garet said. The boy walked up to Lily and stole the Sol Star.
"Hey--what th--- YOU BRAT!!!!!!!!" The kid ran off. "GET BACK HERE YOU PUNK!!!!!!!!" She
chased him. "We'd better follow her," Jenna said. They followed her.
The chase led them to a corridor with 2 passageways. Lily shouted, "Gotcha!" Garet cheered
Lily on by saying, "Yeah! Show that runt who's boss!" Everyone stared at Garet when he said,
"What?" Lily said, "CHARGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!" SHe ran up to the kid, but the kid vanished as soon as
she had almost got him. She said "Whoops" followed by an "Ouch" as she hit the floor. "Grr...
that punk kid took the Sol Star with him!" Lily said in outrage. Gina asked, "Wait. WHat's this?"
There was a stone tablet. Lily read it. "'The power of light is the most useful tool here.......
use it at will.'" "WHat are we waiting for? Let's go!" Garet said. They headed down the nearest
passage.......
Meanwhile, Karst and Agatio were standing atop the Lighthouse Aerie. Karst, looking down upon
Princess Serenity and the wounded soldiers, said, "Muahahahah........Perfect. I have the
Princess just where I want her." "What do you have in mind?" Agatio asked. Karst replied,
"I have a plan..........."
Back to the Adepts. They reached the area with the same magic circle as Luna Lighthouse,
except it had the symbols of Mars, Mercury, and Sol on them. The Mars symbol was glowing.
"Now we need to solve one last puzzle before moving on," Alex said. They ran out the passageway.
At the same time, a monster attacked on of the wounded soldiers! "gasp.......Se..re..nity....."
said one of the soldiers. Serenity said, "I'll save you!" but the fiend dragged the soldier into
the bushes. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!" Serenity said, "I'd better stay on my guard...."
Then, swarms of fiends started attacking! Serenity said, "I have no choice........" She chanted
an incantation and activated the Cosmos Barrier, a special skill that can only be used by
Cosmos Adepts, and if used too long, can wear out their strength. A pentagram appeared on
the ground, with the symbols of Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Venus, and Luna on it. The barrier
could not be complete without Sol Lighthouse being activated, as that would activate the power
of Cosmos and complete the barrier. A giant, transparent multicolored shield surrounded the
pentagram. The Adepts saw this, and were surprised. Samuel Mind Linked with Serenity.
< Princess, what's going on!? >
< I have no idea. Fiends just started attacking by the masses! I had no choice
but to activate the Cosmos Barrier! >
< How are you holding them off? >
< Good now, but.........Oh no, a fiend broke through! Hurry, I can't hold them off for long! >
< Okay. Oh, and Princess? >
< Yes? >
< Don't do anything stupid! >
< I won't! >

Samuel said, "We must hurry! Serenity can't hold off those fiends for long!" They ran through
the next passageway.
Back atop the Aerie.................
Karst said,"Good, good............she has no choice but to use up her powers. Let's see how the
others fare in saving her."
After solving the second puzzle, the child the Adepts saw earlier appeared again. Lily said,
"AHA! I knew you'd show up, you brat!" She chased him again, and finally caught him.
The child said, "You did it! You passed the first test. Now another test awaits......"
He vanished and dropped the Sol Star. Lily picked it up. "Another test?....." she asked.
Joel said, "Okay. Mia, Piers, Alex, Jenna, Garet, Lily, come here and follow my lead."
They walked to the magic circle and used their Psynergy on it. The Sol Symbol appeared.
They stepped on the magic circle and were transported to the Aerie. There they faced
Agatio and Karst. "We must save Serenity and restore the balance of Alchemy!" said
Piers. "Dream on! It's not happening," replied Karst. They fought. Karst and Agatio were
vanquished, and Lily did the honors of lighting Sol Lighthouse. When it was lit, the Sol
and Cosmos symbols appeared on the pentagram, the barrier vanquished all the fiends, and
the balance of Alchemy was restored. The only thing left for our heroes to do now is to
unlock Cosmos Sanctum. The dark clouds vanished from the sky, showing the night sky.

< Serenity.......we did it. The Lighthouse is lit. >

Later, Serenity met up with our heroes at the Aerie. "You had a question, right Mia?"
she asked. Mia said, "Yes." Serenity answered, "Ever since Necron destroyed Atlantis, and
since he was sealed away in the Cosmos Sanctum, he has cursed both Weyard and Cirenia.
When anyone dies, they do not proceed to the afterlife. They are cursed to wander the
ruins of Atlantis as ghosts, until Necron is destroyed." Lily whispered to Joel, "That
explains the ghost we saw in the Atlantis Ruins!" Mia said, "Also, what was that mysterious
place you and I both saw?" Serenity replied, "That was once a sacred temple of Alchemy.
People from the different kingdoms would practice ancient rituals there. But ever since
Atlantis was destroyed, evil and malice has haunted that once-sacred place, and many people
who have went there recently haven't returned." "Oh......" Mia said. Serenity said, "We must
unlock the Cosmos Sanctum as soon as we can. The fate of the wor--ugh.........." Serenity
passed out. "Serenity!" everyone exclaimed. "She's exhausted from using the Cosmos Barrier,"
said Joel, holding her in his arms. "We'd better report back to the palace."
The balance of Alchemy is finally restored. But what else awaits our heroes?
