Bronzestar’s death?
Chapter 7

Charlie bounded away from her his tail lashing with excitement. “See you later cutie.” laughed the tom as he ran away into the bushes. Rainpaw hissed in defense, her fur bristled. “How dare you run you dirty piece of stinking mouse-dung.
“Cutie?” echoed Silverstorm in confusion. Rainpaw dashed after the stray cat, her eyes glaring out in frustration.
Cheetahfur slowly padded over to the white she-cat as she halted before the bush, her flanks heaved in air. “I could’ve beat him if only that rogue hadn’t fled.” hissed Rainpaw her claws still unsheathed.
“It’s ok Rainpaw.” meowed Cheetahfur looking up to see the sun setting. “Come on apprentice.” laughed Silverstorm trying to hide his rage toward the stray. The gray tom padded over toward the rabbit, his blue eyes sagged as he bent over to grip the large prey with his muzzle.
“Let’s go, you don’t want to miss your own ceremony.” purred the older warrior, his darkened fur seemed to camouflage him in the shadows of the thick trees and weeds.
Cheetahfur nodded as he followed the gray tom. Rainpaw slowly followed as if she thought the rogue would return. “Fine I’m coming.” she growled tumbling after her mentor as if a lost kit. “Don’t worry I’m fine.” she growled flicking her tail continuously. Cheetahfur shook his head then took a step closer to the weeds to hear a small purring noise. Amused he pretended to creep closer to the large weed pile. A sound made him duck. A ginger she-cat pushed from the weeds, her claws aimed at Cheetahfur. Rainpaw stared as Cheetahfur dodged the smaller cat’s attack and landed on top of her. Rainpaw paced herself as she padded over toward the ginger she-cat.
“I almost had him.” whined the apprentice pawing at the ground. “Cedarpaw where is Blackmuzzle?” spat Silverstorm, his hackles rising. She shrugged her shoulders. “How in Starclan’s name would I know.” hissed Cedarpaw getting to her four paws.
“Deerpaw come out now.” growled Cheetahfur seeing the beautiful pale brown apprentice through the weeds. “Oh, how did you see me?” asked Deerpaw padding toward Cheetahfur. “You may learn from him someday.” purred Rainpaw padding beside him. “I want to be a awesome warrior like you.” meowed Cedarpaw flicking her tail irritably.
“Looks like Black muzzle hasn’t taught you enough.” joked Silverstorm nudging the small ginger apprentice. “For even you little ones know better then to come out here by yourselves.” he added. Rainpaw pressed her muzzle against the small ginger apprentice. “You have to come back with us now.” she whispered. The two apprentices curtly nodded. “Will Ruddypelt be back?” asked Deerpaw following Rainpaw.
“I don’t know?” answered Rainpaw stiffening. Cheetahfur couldn’t help but feel a warm shadow over him. “Is it going to rain?” asked Cheetahfur tasting the air.
Rainpaw shrugged her shoulders, not even looking up at the clouds. “ I don’t think it should.” she mewed her tone sounded eager. “I know you are becoming a warrior today.” whined Deerpaw pressing beside Rainpaw. Rainpaw shrugged her shoulders, her eyes clouded and dropping. He couldn’t help but notice that she seemed more tired then usually.
The weeds sunk under his paws, making him feel uncomfortable. “Why is there a sudden wetness in the ground.” asked Deerpaw shifting uncomfortably. “No kidding.” snapped Cedarpaw shaking the muddy ground off her paw. “ I hate this muck.” The dark ginger apprentice licked her chest. “It makes me feel sort of like I’m going to die.” hissed Deerpaw sulking in the muck.
“I am not going to taste this guck ever, ever again.” growled Cedarpaw curling her lips as if in a battle. The other apprentice Deerpaw nodded, her eyes still showing no sign of fear. “I can’t wait till the next Gathering.” purred Deerpaw changing the subject.
“Yes, I have to catch up to what I missed.” meowed Rainpaw turning to face the two apprentices. Cheetahfur shook his head, he didn’t get how apprentices could talk so long, even Rainpaw has begun to shut her mouth for a while. “We had no idea where you two had went.” started Deerpaw glaring at her friend Cedarpaw. “When we wondered about what Bronzestar had said.” purred Cedarpaw finishing her sentence.
“All we did was go to one meeting and heard news of Thunderclan and Windclan in our territory again.” hissed Deerpaw. “Yes, but like always they told us they had never hunted in our territory recently. But Bronzestar refused to believe them again, and if they found anymore signs of hunting she would declare a battle against them.” growled Deerpaw emotionally. “Goldstar and Bronzestar had a horrific battle against each other near the ridge of the gorge. We didn’t think they would fall then Goldstar pounced onto Bronzestar, not a scratch lay on her but then she lost her grip on the ledge and fell into the waters below, and we never saw her again.” murmured Cedarpaw, her voice filled with sorrow. “That’s when she died.” added Deerpaw examining the white apprentice’s face. “How could you two know what happened.” growled Cheetahfur looking expectantly at the two apprentices.
“It was our first fight.” purred Deerpaw grimly. “Yah, and why would you be so precise as which happened?” spat Cheetahfur, his fur bristling. “How could you know so much? How?” his voice went soft and he felt a voice inside him to go and look for the lost leader but he turned toward the weeds and didn’t stop. “Cheetahfur” mewed Rainpaw silently. “Cheetahfur come back where are you going?” asked Cedarpaw?”
He didn’t think it would be as easy to listen to her tragic death, after all she had nine lives left. Spiritwhisker also was young and inexperienced. He padded hard against the ground, until he got to the deep part of the island. “What should I do know?” he growled stomping his paw.
