Lilacpaw and Aquapaw
Chapter 4

Cheetahfur pushed over to join his friend beneath the rock where their leader sat down. Rainstorm went to go join Ruddypelt and Sierranose. As she padded over to Ruddypelt she noticed the two kits, Lilackit and Aquakit crept closer to the black and white tom.
Rainstorm greeted her friend Sierranose, not one cat looked like Sierranose, though many of the cats were gray, she was the only blue cat, with green-blue eyes. She also was skinnier then most cats.
“Hello Rainstorm.” she meowed watching the white warrior pad over to her. The clouds had all disappeared from the sky leaving the stars to shine. The scent of Tallfoot’s wound made her turn stiff. “What is that scent?” asked Meadowbrook padding after Tallfoot.
“Come on Tallfoot. Time to go and check your wound.” she growled nudging him from the ground. “The time you will die may be soon if you don’t allow me to check your wound.” hissed the medicine cat. “ Ok Meadowbrook, if you insist.” meowed Tallfoot following Meadowbrook into the medicine cat’s den.
“What do I do know?” growled Aquakit clawing the ground. Lilackit followed her brother onto the tip of the rock. “Let’s go already.” she snapped nudging him.
“Ok.” snarled Aquakit jumping beside Spiritstar. He stared unwarily, at the black and white warrior. Spiritstar stood tall above the smaller gray kits. “Aquakit.” he meowed softly. “You are now big enough to become an apprentice.” he meowed.
“Aquakit from now on, you will be known as Aquapaw.” he purred. Pride swelled in the young apprentice’s blue eyes. “Your mentor will now be Ruddypelt.” he meowed glaring at the tawny warrior for a reply. “I will be glad to mentor Aquapaw.” he meowed looking up at the leader respectfully. “You are docile, courageous and strong teach your wisdom to young Aquapaw.” purred Spiritstar. The apprentice did a small bow and awaited to go down and greet his new mentor.
Spiritstar padded toward Aquapaw and put his muzzle on the kit’s forehead. Lilackit stared the two cats in front of her. A glimpse of hope from her brother made her rush forth and also greet the leader.
Aquapaw leaped down from the rock and padded over to meet his mentor, Ruddypelt.
The tawny warrior got up from beside Deerpaw, his eyes gleamed with unmistakable pride. Deerpaw also greeted the younger apprentice as she pressed close to Ruddypelt. Rainstorm couldn’t help but feel alone as she saw how close they were in so little time.
She sighed, lounging for something almost every she-cat wished to hear. Yet no one ever thought she was that important right?
Deerpaw touched her nose with Aquapaw. “It is nice to meet a new apprentice.” she purred. The gray tom nodded as he touched noses with Ruddypelt next. “You will start training tomorrow.” he teased.
Lilackit padded up farther so she was beside Spiritstar. “Eager, huh Lilackit?” laughed Spiritstar
The long haired kit puffed out her chest hair and nodded. “Yes Spiritstar.” she mewed. “Ok then.” he growled giving her a small nudge. “Lilackit, you are the appropriate size for an apprentice, your father and mother are great warriors and soon you will be as well.” he purred getting to his paws from the crouch he was in.
“Lilackit from this day on you will be known as Lilacpaw.” he yowled. Rainstorm felt bad that Bronzestar wasn’t there anymore, her kits would probably miss her a lot more then she did. She looked at Cedarpaw, then Rabbitpaw. She could she that Darkmuzzle was also watching them. Cedarpaw looked almost like Bronzestar in color, but not fur or attitude. For Bronzestar was a gentle yet great warrior, and Cedarpaw was too eager to watch the snow and rain fall. But she couldn’t help but remember the time when Bronzestar had named her Rainpaw.
“Your mentor will be Cheetahfur.” he growled looking at Cheetahfur also for a reply. At first the spotted warrior stared at his paws then at the young kit. “I would be glad to mentor Lilacpaw.” he smiled getting to his paws. Rainstorm couldn’t believe that Spiritstar did as she asked him to do. “You are a brave and truly loyal warrior so I wish for you to teach your strengths to this young kit.” he purred.
Cheetahfur nodded. “I will.” he meowed. Lilacpaw gave a slight bow to Spiritstar. In return he put his muzzle on her head. As she tore away from the black and white tom she jumped off the rock to land on the ground, on her paws.
She padded toward Cheetahfur, rejoicing she touched her nose against his. “Cheetahfur.” she meowed. “Yes?” he replied. “I see how you got your name.” she laughed spinning around in circles. “Wow, I feel like a dog.” she meowed he head acting as if she was rolling.
“Lilacpaw I will start your training tomorrow.” he told her. She nodded as she bounced off into the distance to join her brother.
Sierranose bounded over toward Cheetahfur. “So you are a mentor now. Well, just to tell you that is a big responsibility.” she meowed.
“I know but I want to do it.” he purred. Rainstorm followed after the blue warrior. “Good you deserve an apprentice.” she purred. “I guess.” he growled going into the medicine cat’s den. Was it her or was he ignoring her? She felt real hurt. But no matter what she did, all the deaths around the area surprised her.
