Chapter One:Weilder of The Flame of Twilight

She was always laying in this church.Upon the old floorboards,near the flower bed.She laid with her arms outstretched and her bandanna covering her eyes.Hotaru was tall(A/N:She's 5'11) with short spiky hair that stuck out in every direction,she had crimson red eyes that looked just like her friend Vincent Valentine's eyes.She was dressed in a black long sleeve shirt with ared short sleeve shirt with a gold cross on the front with her collar and sleeves tied on her right arm was a pink ribbon,leather pants with a belt hanging lop sided on her hip which held her katana,apair of old riding goggles hung loosly around her neck over a scarlet scarf that laid lightly on her shoulders around her throat.Being here reminded her of a promise she broke,to her friend Aeris and her friend Daniel,her sins she must remind herself.So long ago was she fighting The ShinRa Power Electric Company,she blew up half of their building in Midgar,killed many of their SOLDIERs and Turks.She didn't care,they didn't care about the planet so she didn't care about them.It was only until Daniel Hikarisa was killed by ShinRa thatshe truelly turn into a monster,The 'Monster with crimson red eyes' is what they called her.Hotaru sighed,then when Sephiroth killed Aeris her friend she was truelly broken,she had promised both Daniel and Aeris that she would help them and they both were killed.She hated herself for breaking her promise,she was a royal guard one of the Samurais of Mideela.Mideela was Daniel's home country,he was the crown prince and had trained Hotaru along with his older sister Akiko in their fighting style 'Blinding Sword Dance'.She was strong in it and she had mastered it extreamly quickly.Now she carried his sword to remember him and laid in Aeris's church to remember her.As Hotaru laid there two people snuck into the church,they slowly crept up on Hotaru until

"I know it's you Emi"

"Oh trat!How did you know?!"said a frustrated voice followed by a little girl's giggle"Nee-chan* is good like that"Hotaru smiled and sat up,she pulled her bandanna off her eyes and looked at them.Emiri Nobara or Emi as she liked to be called was a small 15 year old girl with shoulder lenght brown hair and bright pink bangs that fell in front of her face,she blinked her chocolate brown eyes and smiled happily.She wore a tight collar no sleeve pink shirt with a golden design on the front(A/N:You know those Chinese shirts?that),brown cargo shorts with two belts X-ed on her hips carring her two 9 mm pistol Nevadas,black leggings,white boots and large black gloves that covered her knuckles and arms all the way up to her bi-ceps,on the tops of her hands were large red jewels that she used as a weapon when she fought using karate.The little girl next to Emi was Marlene Wallace,Hotaru and Emi's friend Barret Wallace's adopted daughter.Hotaru grinned at them,"why are you in here Nee-chan?"asked Marlene looking at Hotaru curiously;Hotaru smiled at Marlene she had a soft spot in her heart for Marlene "just sleeping you know how I am"Marlene giggled."So have you had the same dream again?"Emi asked looking at her,a smile painted on her face.Hotaru blinked,Emi was referring to the dream of darkness Hotaru has had since she could first remember,she shook her head no "this one was different."

['Dive into the heart-destati-' plays]

Hotaru fell through a pitch black abyss,she didn't know where she was.It seemed as if she would fall forever until her feet touched something.Hotaru opened her crimson red eyes and looked around.Suddenly the platform glew and an image appeared.On the platform was Hotaru,she had her arms wrapped around herself,in one hand she held her normal sword her katana and in the other she held a key like weapon,surrounding her was a dark creature with large velvet black and crimson red bat-like wings,the creature had it's back to Hotaru.With it's arms outstretched,Hotaru saw that it carried the same key like weapon.Around them was four circles carring pictures of Aeris,Daniel,Emi and Vincent,blood was stained on the pictures of Aeris and Daniel and around the edges of Emi's picture it was dark.Hotaru looked around and walked forward,a voice,soft and clear,talked to her in her head

A heart filled with darkness...
But a warrior of the light
Intresting.....

Take your time...
Don't be afraid...

The Darkness can be stopped.

Suddenly three pillars rose out of the stainglass platform,one them appeared a sword,a staff and a sheild.

A Dark power sleeps inside of you..
If you deny it....
You may master it...
Choose wisely

The voice saidin Hotaru's head,she slowly made her way towards the sword,she picked it up and the voice spoke.

You've choosen the sword,now you must give something up.

Hotaru walked over to the Staff and grabbed it.

A staff of great power,the power of magic will you give this up?

"Yes" came Hotaru's replie.Then the same key like weapon appeared in her hand,she blinked confused.

There will be times that you have to fight,stay strong

Don't let the darkness win.

Pools of inky blackness opened up around Hotaru,little black creatures with yellow beady eyes pulled themselves out of the portals.Hotaru postioned her weapon in one of the many stances in Blinding Sword Dance,the key weapon glew and suddenly turned blue with black and crimson red flames that didn't burn her,a small chainhung from it with the Japanese symbol for 'demon' on it.Hotaru looked at the weapon,not understanding whats going on.One of the creatures jumpped at her and she swung at it,when the flames touched it,it bursted into flames and killed it.Hotaru grinned and started killing off allof the black creatures.Once they had all disappeared,the voice spoke again.

The door is open...
you must fight....

The stainglass platform started shaking,Hotaru looked around confused.It shattered into a million pieces plunging Hotaru into the darkness once more.

Hotaru couldn't make heads or tails of the dream it felt so weird.Emi and Marlene looked at her curiously.Hotaru smiled,trying to hide her discomfort,"Come on you two lets go to Tifa's"she slowly stood up to her full height(A/N: Which is very tall!*gets hit with a baseball*;~; I'll stop).Marlene jumpped up and down happily "yeah remember you said you'd play with me today,remember Nee-chan?"Hotaru laughed."Yeah I remember"

"And you always say the Samurai keep their word right?"

"Of course c'mon shorty lets go"Hotaru retied her bandanna around her forehead,Emi giggled "I knowwhy you want to leave you want to see Vincent" Hotaru stopped deadin her tracks and blushed bright red,Emi and Marlene giggled."No that's not true" Hotaru said hotly trying to hide her blush,"Oh really?"Emi and Marlene said at the same time,then Emi started mocking Hotaru " Vincent wait I'll come with you!Vincent how I love you if only you'd notice me!" Marlene started giggling feriously.All the while Hotaru's face got hotter and hotter from her blush.She let out a growland yelled "ok that's it,there are two short people going down!!!!" Marlene and Emi stopped and took off running,Hotaru reached down and grabbed her sword,straping it to the back of her pants before chasing after them.As they ranout of Aeris's church a dark figure watched them with intrest,the main person he watched was Hotaru.

"Seems I've found you dear little sister"
