Rufus pressed the ice pack against Reno's sprained shoulder. He frowned at the livid bruising and glanced at Reno's face. The Turk winced a little but appeared oddly content despite the evident pain he was in.

 

“Are you sure I can't convince you to get medical attention?” Rufus asked softly.

 

“Nah, I'll be fine,” Reno drawled, “All I need is to take another potion before I go to bed and I'll be good as new tomorrow morning.

 

Rufus sighed softly and closed his eyes. Sometimes he wished that Reno weren't so reckless. Being a Turk was dangerous enough; he didn't need to make it worse by taking unnecessary risks to get a job done. Yet he knew voicing such concerns would only make Reno laugh. It was just the way he worked anyway.

 

“Do you want me to leave so you can get some rest?” Rufus asked, secretly hoping Reno would let him stay. He knew not to expect sex, but he didn't really care.

 

“Don't you dare,” Reno murmured as he pulled Rufus close.

 

He looked down into Reno's bright blue eyes. The adoration he saw in those cerulean depths was more exhilarating than any orgasm.
