Fruits Basket Fan Fiction / Case Closed Fan Fiction ❯ Conan and the Sohmas ❯ The Case of The Neko's Alibi ( Chapter 4 )

[ P - Pre-Teen ]

Rachel, Conan and Richard arrived on the scene at 8 a.m. and while Richard talked over the facts of the case with Ritsu, Rachel went inside to talk to Ayame and Conan followed.
Inside they found Ayame sitting in full lotus position with his elbows on his knees and his chin in his hands...on the coffee table. But that wasn't the weird part.
The two couches in the room, pushed into a right angle, were full.
Yuki lay on one; Kyo on the other.
Both were unconscious.
Yuki's left arm was tightly bandaged and there were some red spots on it in places...
But Kyo was wrapped from waist to collarbone, and a stripe of white bandages covered his right shoulder.
Rachel waved a tentative hand in Ayame's face, bringing him out of whatever he was in.
“Ah, Rachel-chan, Conan-kun. Ohayo.”
“Ayame...kun...” Rachel hesitated, not knowing what to say. It just came out. “What happened?”
“It's a long story.”
Rachel sat down.
Ayame sighed, rolling his eyes.
“Okay. It started this morning. Yuki was going out to tend his garden, and Kyo was...well, unaccounted for. Kisa found Yuki by his secret base, bleeding. The brachial artery—that is, the one in his arm—had been severed. Clawed, actually. Kagura got really mad because she thought it was Kyo, and beat him to a pulp, and then somebody said they'd seen some kind of sasquatch running around, so it might be that and if we weren't going to have the neko for dinner would she mind not tenderizing him? So then Kagura started crying and Kyo sort of did something between meowing and choking and his eyes rolled back, so then Shigure cleaned them both up and left them with me and then you came in and waved a hand in my face and said—“
“Okay. Good. Anything else?”
“That's not what you said.”
“Kamis...” They turned as one of the figures on the couch stirred, gazing up at them through misty, pale-gold eyes. “My head hurts...” He murmured, covering one side of his forehead with his left hand. Then it clicked.
“Poor koneko...” said Rachel, crouching to brush the hair from Kyo's eyes. “She hit you for no reason.”

Why did she say that?
