At about 6 AM, There was a loud banging on Hatori and Mayu's door. “Hatori!!! Hatori!!! Open up!!! Hatori!!!! It's an emergency!” Hatori bolted up out of bed and opened the door when he heard Shigure's voice outside his room. Shigure was absolutely frantic about something.

“What is it Shigure?”

“Its Akito! I woke her up this morning as usual but she didn't respond to me. I checked her breathing and its really broken up! She's unusually pale and I had a hard time finding her pulse, it took me about 10 minutes.” Yuki came up behind Shigure and added,

“She's bleeding now too. Hatori, you'd best come and look at her.” Hatori nodded,

“I'll do everything I can, but Shigure....you should call an ambulance right now. I knew something was wrong. And Yuki, you go and wake up Tohru-kun. Tell her to go to Akito's room promptly. Understand?” Yuki nodded and he and Shigure left to do as they were told. Hatori went over to his bed and woke up Mayu. He nudged her slightly,

“Mayu, wake up.” He said softly. She stirred.

“Mm? What is it Ha'ri-chan?” Mayu sleepily replied rubbing her eyes.

“Something went wrong with Akito. I have to go and tend to her. Its also 6:15. Time for you to get up for work. If I'm not back by the time you go to work, I love you and I hope you have a good day.” He kissed her, picked up his bag and left.

Mayu whispered “Good bye” to his back, blew a kiss, and then laid back down for a moment. I'll tell him tonight... she thought to herself. Then she got up, got dressed and left for the school.

When Hatori got to Akito's room, she was finally awake but she was doubled over on the ground, panting heavily and clutching her stomach. Tohru was there, Yuki, Shigure, and even Kyo. Everyone still in their pajamas. Tohru turned to Hatori when she saw him,

“What do I have to do Hatori-san?”

“Go to Shikito's room. Keep her out of here for a while.” She nodded and left, causing Kyo to follow her. Hatori turned to Shigure, “Did you call an ambulance?” Shigure nodded, amazed that his cousin could be so calm when all this was happening. Hatori then directed his attention to Akito. He knelt down beside her, trying not to panic when she reached up suddenly and grabbed his pajama shirt wide eyed.

“Help me Hatori!” she whispered hoarsely, “What's happening to me!?!?” Hatori stroked her hair just as he had done when she was little and said,

“I'm not sure Akito. Were you eating properly?” She nodded, “Where you ill to begin with and didn't tell me?” She shook her head.

“There is something I didn't tell you though, because you would have been angry with Shigure if I had...”

“And what's that?”

“That I'm pregnant again.” Hatori's eyes widened,

“What! I thought I told you that your body couldn't handle that again.” Shigure stepped up,

“You did tell us that. Her getting pregnant again was hardly an intent we had.” Hatori fired a death glare at Shigure,

“Then why did you do it again?” Shigure blushed and confessed,

“Well, she was just so sexy, I couldn't help it.” Hatori rolled his eyes.

“Honestly Shigure, I don't know what I'm going to do with you...” Akito strengthened her grip on Hatori's shirt,

“HATORI!!! IT HURTS!!!” She closed her eyes tightly and tears started falling. As this happened, Paramedics, escorted by Ayame and Mine (of all people) burst into the room. The first paramedic addressed Hatori,

“Sohma Hatori, correct?” Hatori nodded,

“Correct. What may I do to assist you gentlemen?”

“Help us get her on this stretcher.” By this time Akito had gone limp in Hatori's arms from blood loss. Hatori again nodded and assisted the paramedics. He turned his head and looked at Shigure,

“You. Come here.” Shigure walked over,

“Yes?”

“We're going to the hospital.” He looked at Yuki, “Yuki, go and tell Ms. Honda that Akito and Shigure are going to be at the hospital for a while and that she needs to please keep watching Shikito.” Yuki nodded and left. “Let's go Shigure.” The paramedics had already left with Akito and were outside the house waiting for them. They hurried outside, got in, and sped off.

Shigure was clutching Akito's small delicate hand and repeating the mantra “Please be alright, please be alright, please be alright.” Hatori looked over at his cousin and placed a firm hand on his shoulder causing Shigure to look over.

“She'll be fine Shigure, I'm sure of it.” He smiled at his cousin, in a false attempt to reassure him, though even Hatori was unsure of what would come of Akito.
