We fast forward to 10 years later, Sandy's in her bedroom asleep in her sleeping bag on the hard wood floor. An alarm sounds and she sluggishly wakes up.

Sandy: What day is it?

(Feels a kink in her back)

Sandy: Oh what year is it?

She looks at her calendar to see it was-

Sandy: Oh no! School starts today!

We take a quick look outside to see her large Japanese-style house where Sandy narrates-

(Narrating)

Sandy: Well I guess this is how my story begins. Hi, I'm Sandy. I've lived in this house since I was born, and as usual I'm on my usual crusade not to be late. This is especially important today because it's my first day of high school.

Meanwhile downstairs in the kitchen a ham taking a whistling kettle of the stove and prepares his coffee at the table.

(Narrating)

Sandy: This is my dad Taisho, he strives to be an avid tunnel builder and for the perfect cup of coffee.

Back upstairs Sandy just got her schoolbag all packed and headed out closing the door behind him when someone jumped out and yelled-

Stan: Surprise!

Sandy: Ahhh!

(Snickers)

Stan: Well sis you sure know how to start the day by getting the first of your three screams.

Sandy: Stan please I'm in no mood!

Stan: Sorry it's just you usually love these tricks of mine.

Sandy: Well I think we're getting too old for them now.

Stan: Hmm?

(Narrating)

Sandy: This is my brother Stan, I know we look alike. That's the deal with being twins. But we have our differences too, he can be a jerk sometimes especially when he's flirting but he's cool overall and he's helped me out more then you might think.

Later on Stan is up in the tree outside of Sandy's room playing a rock guitar. His eyes closed feeling the rhythms inside his mind.

Meanwhile in the dining room Taisho sits with his body bent low at the low legged table sipping his coffee while Sandy quickly ate her bowl of morning stew.

Taisho: Slow down Sandy, you'll get sick eating so fast.

(Gulps)

Sandy: Sorry dad but I have to make time before school.

Taisho: You've never been this excited about the first day of school before.

Sandy: Well this one is different I can feel it!

Soon after breakfast she ran out of the house and heading off to school-

Sandy: I only have 10 minutes!

Meanwhile Stan leaps down from the tree and takes another route to school. Sandy runs down the blocks pass a neighbor's house and is still a bit a ways.

(Narrating)

Sandy: Little did I know... This first day of school would be very different.

(Music starts)

"Doing unbalanced kissing" plays in the background as Sandy races down a busy sidewalk heading for school-

(We cut to a scene where Sandy is franticly running into the street just as the walk sign lights up)

(We cut to another scene where up ahead Stan was walking slowly on his way to school)

Song: Dare wo yonde iru no, kieta koi no senaka. Nando demo Nando demo.

Kimi no mado wo tataku kara.

(We then cut to a scene on top of a billboard where Sparkle sits atop with the wind blowing at her puffy pigtails)

Song: Yoru no kasokudo ni senaka osarete-

(Meanwhile down below Sandy meets up with Pashmina and Hakeru and head for school together)

Song: Ito ga kireru you ni-

(We cut to the other side of the street where an interesting boy walks towards school)

Tada, kimi wo kimi wo tsuyoku daite 'ta.

(Meanwhile a woman holding a broom was walking up the street looking energized but worn out)

Song: Anbaransu na Kiss wo kawashite, Ai ni chikazuke yo-

(We next cut to a scene where Sandy, Pashmina and Hakeru are almost at school)

Kimi no namida mo kanashii uso mo, Boku no kokoro ni. Nemure!

(A few minutes later he's asleep standing up)

(Soon the three friends arrive in front of the school with time to spare to see their sleeping principal and sweat dropped)

(Stan came from behind the school with his guitar strapped to his backpack)

Boku wa kagi wo sagashite 'ru.

(Above on the school roof some new students atop the roof)

Song: Kuzureochisou na sora wo sasaete-

(We get close-ups of these characters)

Hitori tachitsukusu

(Soon a lot of students start gathering)

Tada, kimi no kimi no soba ni itai yo-

And introducing-

(We see close-ups of all the kids on the roof)

(We see a close-up of Sandy with a bright look on her face)

Then up in the sky you see a bird fly overhead with a ham atop it-

(Close up)

Also starring Sabu and Françoise-

We look higher in the sky to see a hamster with wings high in the air-

(Close-up)

And we see a cloud looking like someone familiar-

And Francine/Sandy and Stan's late mother

Back down below everyone was waiting for what was the principal's speech for the new school year

Song: Anbaransu na Kiss wo kawashite, Ai ni chikazuke yo.

(Okiro on the roof notices Sandy down below)

Song: Kimi no namida mo kanashii uso mo, Boku no kokoro ni nemure-

Kimi no kokoro ga boku wo yobu made

Dakishimeaeru hi made

With a jazzy riff that starts to fade away the song ends and we fade out when someone shouts-

Kid: Hey old man, wake up!

When then we iris out until all we see is the principal's sleep bubble and it pops and it's all black.
