Chapter 8

Secret of the Cards, Hamtaro Closing In

Onaka: Battle/Weapon cards are rare cards to get. They have the ability to do many things. They can increase the power of your weapon or change its type.

Like the Lighthawk Saber being a Wind based weapon. The card can create a new weapon for you to use in battle. The card can do both effects. And the best one of all, it can unlock certain powers of a certain weapon for all uses so you don't have to use a certain card to use temporally. These cards are like the best of the Digital Cards in the game.

Raishiuko: Sounds good.

Onaka: But the Perfect Battle/Weapon cards can use one of these effects at a time of your choice. So you can decide what effect will come of the card.

Osimaru: Do I have any in my deck Ivit?

Ivit: Of course you do. There's one in both decks right now.

Raishiuko and Osimaru take their cards out.

Raishiuko: So these are the Perfect Battle/Weapon cards.

Onaka: But once used you can't use for awhile. You have to collect more of these cards to use there special powers.

Raishiuko: Okay. Now how about that mission you were telling us about?

Onaka: Well all we have to do is just keeping going a bit north from here.

Osimaru: At least we don't have to walk far.

Raishiuko: Alright! Let's go!

They begin to leave the house. They go north. Then Hamtaro, T.W., Boss, and Bijou come along and enter the house.

Hamtaro: Hello, anyone home?

They look around.

Boss: Hey look you guys! Pizza! And it has mushroom and cheese toppings on it! My favorite!

He gobbles down on the toppings.

T.W: Hey save some for us!

Bijou: Boss! You don't know how long it's been out here.

Boss: But it smells fresh to me. *takes a topping* Here, Have one.

Bijou: Well I don't think I could...

Boss: Aww. Okay then, more for me then.

T.W looked at the front of the box to see date on it.

T.W: It's today's date so it's okay

He continues to eat.

Hamtaro: Look what I found!

T.W.: Sunflower seeds!

They pull a bag out that has Sunflower Seeds in it.

Bijou: Yummy!

She goes down by Hamtaro and T.W. They all munch on the seeds.

Boss: (Oh. She says not to eat what was left out for a long time. Who knows if those seeds are expired.) *sigh* Oh well.

Later they finish eating.

Hamtaro: That was good!

Bijou: This was very delicious indeed!

T.W.: Even food that is digital is good. I actually feel full

Boss is almost done eating the toppings

Boss: Man, no one ever eats with me ever. (Sighs)

He then picks up a sparkly topping and eats it. Then he starts glowing.

Hamtaro: Boss! You're glowing!

Boss: What the heck?

Boss's C.R.A.P-C-: Special level up. Boss now level 17! New technique mastered, Shadow Crash! New weapon now available, the Shadow Axe!

Boss stops glowing. A Shadow Axe appears in front of him and some cards show next to it.

Boss: Whoa, new gear.

He equips the weapon.

Hamtaro: Boss must've eaten something that has improved his stats.

T.W.: Now he's the most powerful in the group.

Bijou: Well I guess I shouldn't keep him from eating junk food then.

Boss: You guys! I got more cards! And a weapon! Check it out!

Shows weapon.

Hamtaro: That's super!

Bijou: At least the monsters will be easier to take down now.

Hamtaro: Well it seems that Laura isn't here.

Bijou: Looks like she left.

Then T.W's C.R.A.P-C map starts reacting

T.W.: Hey! My locator shows that Laura and Kana are heading north.

Hamtaro: Then north it is.

They exit the house and two Daxels are out there.

Boss: Let me handle this one.

He takes out a new card and slashes it.

Boss: Item fusion!

Boss holds out his new shadow axe and Diamond blade axe and they fuse together to form the Black diamond axe.

Boss: Cool it worked! *slashes another card* Multiplication technique!

Boss creates multiple selves and all of them charge at the Daxels and take out their Black diamond Axes and take out the Daxels.

Boss's C.R.A.P-C-: 20 EXP gained!

Some cards appear. And the multiple Boss's go away.

T.W.: Yes! You did it!

Hamtaro: Good work Boss!

Boss: Hey Hamtaro! Did you see that move?

He gets grabbed by a giant vine.

Others: Boss!

A giant plant monster shows up.

MSU shows his stats

Name: Glantos.

Level 20

Type: Unknown

T.W.: If a monster has an unknown type then it must be a boss.

Bijou: But aren't they only in dungeons?

Hamtaro: Break free Boss!

Boss: I can't, It's grip is tight! I can't reach my weapon or my cards!

The grip gets tighter.

Hamtaro: *takes out his sword* Chaos Wave!

Slashes the air with his sword and cuts the vine down. Boss is unconscious.

T.W.: Let's heat things up.

Slashes a card.

T.W.: Flamberg's Song!

A sound wave is heard and Glantos catches on fire due to the waves.

Bijou: *slashes card* Acid Rain!

Glantos is being burned by the acid.

Hamtaro: Time to end this! *slashes card* Spirit Absorption!

Glantos starts losing power. Then dries out.

C.R.A.P-C-: Group level up!

While Boss is level 18 now, the others are now level 16.

Boss: *wakes up* Ugh. What happened?

Bijou: That was great Hamtaro!

T.W.: You're the ham!

Hamtaro: Oh you guys.

Boss: Argh. Is it just me, or do they only care about Hamtaro and them winning and not me?

T.W.: Come on! We're nearly there!

Now at Yutona City (where Raishiuko is going), we find Stan and the others are wondering what is going on with the Group Level up.

Stan: Hmm. Another level up. This is getting too weird.

Sandy: Check the team status. Maybe they have gotten it too.

They check the Status screen and it shows everyone's levels. They are at level 12.

Maxwell: Well I guess that means a yes.

Hakeru: T.W. is at level 16. He's very strong.

Pashmina: But the strongest ham in the party is Boss. At level 18.

Penelope: Okwee!

Howdy: While we're done a bit, they are ahead. This is just darn lame.

Dexter: You're just jealous that we got stuck in this party.

Stan: Hey! What's wrong with this group? We've gotten this far with my guidance.

Oxnard: But Stan, you didn't even take us to one food stand anywhere.

Stan: Who needs food when we can become stronger?

Sandy: But you didn't do that much work at all. You were busy hiding most of the time.

Stan: I was not.

Hakeru: Don't lie. You were busy whining on how scary and real these monsters were. I'm surprised you're even level 12 like us.

Stan: Man, so much dissing.

Oxnard: Hey look! *they see Raishiuko and Osimaru* Isn't that Laura? And Kana?

Maxwell: By Joe it is!

Pashmina: We found them!

Penelope: Okwee!

Stan: I'll contact Hamtaro.

He is about to write an IM when Hamtaro's group comes in.

Hamtaro: Hey guys!

They come in.

Stan: Never mind.

Sandy: We found them Hamtaro.

Hamtaro: I know. We tracked them here.

T.W.: So what were you guys doing?

Stan: Well I have successfully defeated a large and interestingly monster all by myself, it was so easy I didn't need any help.

Hakeru: Pa lease. You were too busy carrying on like a baby.

They laugh.

Stan: Not funny.

Boss: Hey look! She's going into that alley!

Hamtaro: Come on you guys, we gotta catch `em!

They follow Raishiuko and Osimaru into a dark alley. They reach a room where four other players are there too.

Raishiuko: Wow. Look at them.

Necromancer: Hello. My name's Nike. I'm here for the special mission I've heard of.

Raishiuko: I'm Raishiuko. And this is Osimaru my best friend and her pet Fi.

Osimaru: Hi.

Fi: Fi!

Nike: So you here for the mission too?

Raishiuko: Yep.

Soldier: Well I heard that this mission is a toughie. So we have to become one big team.

Pop Star: And the reward is very good. Rare Spell/Item cards!

Raishiuko: Spell/Item cards?

Fighter: It's the latest thing. They let you use items with spell power, which can enhance the item's power even more.

Osimaru: I guess the perfect versions are even better.

(Chuckles)

Fighter: You're funny.

With the ham-hams in the little room now.

Hamtaro: What is this place?

Boss: Hey look! I see them!

Then smoke comes out of no where and a mysterious man comes out of nowhere.

???: Greetings players. Are you ready to take the special mission? As you know you will all be together on this one so you must work together. Now follow me if you like.

Everyone and their fairies (and Fi) follow the man.

Hamtaro: Come on!

They follow. They reach a dead end of the corridor.

???: Now will the players step into this circle? All pets and Fairies must keep out of

circle. I can't allow any help from anything other than the players.

They step in the circle while the fairies and Fi watch.

(Really sad)

Fi: Fi..Fi..

Osimaru: Don't worry. I'll be back soon.

They are on the circle.

Onaka: I hope they will be alright.

Ivit: Well they do have the special cards they haven't used yet. They'll be fine.

Onaka: Yes. But why was this mission only available to those with the Perfect Digital cards.

Fi: Fi?

The mysterious man then snaps his fingers. A magic barrier surrounds the players. Then magic rings grab them.

Hamtaro: What's happening to them?

Oxnard: Oh no! I can't look!

Raishiuko: What's going on?

Osimaru: I can't move!

Nike: This ring is binding us every time we struggle! I can't log out!

Soldier: Argh! *breaks free and slashes card* Power-Up!

He glows and hits the barrier but nothing happens. He gets caught by another ring.

???: Uh uh uh. No escapees.

They slowly start to materialize into the ground after the man disappears.

Hamtaro: No! Laura!

He runs to the barrier. Raishiuko sees him.

Raishiuko: Hamtaro? Hamtaro!

Hamtaro: I'm here to help you!

Raishiuko: Help me please!

They are gone.

Hamtaro: No! Laura!

Hamtaro slammed himself hard on the floor feeling so useless. The hams could only watch as there cheerful friend's feeling shrivel to almost transparent nothingness.

Meanwhile Raishiuko, Nike, the soldier and Osimaru had re-materialized into a dark and somewhat damp dungeon. They we're in iron shackles that they couldn't break free. They soon gave up and wondered what to do.

Raishiuko: What's happening?!

Osimaru: I don't know, but I'm really scared.

Solider: Now let's not panic anymore than we already have, let's try and log out again.

Raishiuko: But how do we do that.

Osimaru: Ivit told me it's like logging in you just "logging off" as apposed to logging in.

Raishiuko: Okay here goes-

Raishiuko logging off!

She started to glow but nothing happened.

(Glow fades)

Raishiuko: It's no use we can't log out

Osimaru: I hope Ivit can take care of Fi.

Nike: Those guys are gonna pay, if I ever get out of here.

Raishiuko: I don't get it, How'd Hamtaro get here, and did he actually call out to me?
