This was written as part of a challenge on a forum, where the story had to be less than 100 words. Of course, I was unable to do that, and it ended up being 123 words. It's in three parts, and if I get enough reviews, I'll post the other two parts.

I also have to write the third one, but that's beside the point…*_*;;

Scent

Hunting down Naraku and staying close to Kagome had not been an easy task, but Kouga found that with the Shikon Shards, attempting the impossible was simple.

And that was how he found her…Or, how she found him.

She had attacked him with her miko arrows, purposely missing, demanding that he hand over his shards. He could've attacked her, even killed her, for although she looked human, she wasn't. Kagome would understand that.

But he didn't. He had seen her eyes, smelled her scent, and hesitated. When their eyes met, she too froze. Kouga seized the opportunity and fled, to prevent having to harm her (so he told himself.)

Later, he learned her name was Kikyo.

Kikyo had the same scent as Kagome.
