They could smell the Bear demon before they could see it but both knew that it was big maybe the biggest either had ever seen. Amon looked over to Miromaru and was pleased to see that she stood in a defensive position with her sword drawn he moved further away from her making sure that they both had plenty of room to fight and took his own defensive stance. After a few minuets the bear demon burst into the clearing it was huge bigger than the trees. Amon was the first to attack but with a swipe of its giant paw he was sent flying through the air and into a tree. He crashed into the tree breaking it in half, the top half fell on top of him and knocked him unconscious. While the bear was preoccupied with Amon, Miromaru attacked she sliced through its right foreleg and jumped into a tree just as the severed limb of the bear hit the ground. The bear turned on her and took a swipe at the tree that she was in however as his paw crashed into the tree she leapt onto the bears back. She drove her sword into the neck of the animal with a roar of pain the bear fell onto its back pinning Miromaru to the ground underneath its body. Just then the tree that was on Amon exploded and he attacked again this time the bear slashed him across the torso but Amon slashed back severing the animals paw as this all played out Miromaru was freed. Once again wile the Bear was preoccupied with Amon she attacked but instead of attacking with her sword which was still buried deeply into the neck of the bear she drew her fathers sword Tokijin and it begin to glow a deep purple. She was about to yell for Amon to get clear but before she could she saw him go flying into another tree luckily for her it was clear of what was soon to be the killing field. With a final battle cry she jumped and slashed the bear across the chest with all the power she and Tokijin held. She touched down next to Amon just as the bear crashed to the ground dead. She looked down at Amon she could see that he was bleeding badly so she sheathed Tokijin and walked over to the bear to retrieve her own sword once sheathed she walked back to Amon and kneeled next to him he was starting to regain consciousness. She gently pushed him back down when he started to rise ,stating” just lie still I am going to remove your shirt and treat your wounds” with that said she removed his shirt and could see that he was pretty badly injured. It would take days for him to heal .with a sigh she went to get some water and herbs to treat him with. Once she returned he watched her intently if not a bit warily.
She started a fire and warmed water wile waiting for the water to warm she crushed the herbs to make a lotion once the water was hot enough she tore a large piece of her shirt and dipped it into the water “ I am sorry this is going to hurt a bit but once I put the herbs on it is will feel better". He nodded to her. She wasn't kidding it did hurt but she finished quickly and much to his surprise it did quit hurting as soon as she placed the lotion that she made from the herbs on him. She tore more of her shirt off and ripped it with the aid of her claws into one long strip. She wrapped it around and around him covering all five of the deep slashes across his chest and stomach. When she was done with that she helped him sit up and leaned him against the tree. Then she walked over to the now dead bear and drew her sword once more he looked up at her and said” its already dead “ she gave him a amused look and said “I know I was going to cut you off some meat to eat. But hey if your not hungry” he smiled slightly and said “ well in that case” after a pause he asked how did you kill it?” Her reply was “it was my fathers sword not me if I hadn't had Tokijin we would both dead now “ with that she turned her back to him and started to butcher the bear.
Amon watched her as she worked and was pleased that she worked quickly and capably. Then he saw a flash of what looked like blood on her back. He called out to her. She looked up, he told her to come and sit before him and she looked warily at him then he stated “your hurt and need to be treated”. She looked at him and said “its not bad I will heal I just got a scratched when the Bear fell on me”. However she could see that he meant to treat her rather she wanted it or not so with a sigh she walked over and sat in front of him and removed her shirt. He took her hair in his hands and flipped it over her shoulder she held it their wile he looked at her back. Then with the same cloth she had used on him he started to clean her wound. “What is this scar “he asked about a large star shaped scar in the center of her back between her shoulder blades. “Oh that” she replied softly “ that is where I was wounded when father was captured” she stated in almost a whisper. He quickly cleaned her wound and rubbed the herb mixture that she had made for his wounds. When he was done she placed her shirt back on and walked back to the bear to finish the butchering. It was once that she started back to work that Amon spoke again” is that what your Nightmare was about last night?” She said nothing just continued her work she never even looked at him until she brought him a large piece of meat for him to eat .it when she spoke. However it wasn't the topic that he wished she would address, she handed him the meat and asked “ why did the Bear demon attack us?” He looked at her and could see the sincerity in her eyes and he answered “ because we were weaker and he was greedy for power”. He could see that she was clearly confused by his answer so he decided to elaborate “ Lower demons that seek power will try and eat other demons when they consume them they gain there power as well. He sensed our demonic power and could sense that we were weaker than himself so decided to eat us” she looked at him with an understanding light in her eyes then she eyed the meat in front of her warily. He softly laughed and said “don’t worry the meat will not posses you or change you in any way its just meat. We are high level demons our bodies do not take anything but nourishment from our food. Demon or otherwise. With a look in her eyes of relief she begin to eat. The remainder of that night went without incident or conversation the remainder of the bear was butchered and three bags were made of its skin to hold the meat. Miromaru changed Amons bandages once again before bed and they both went to sleep , as the night before but with a few differences the night terrors struck again. Hours after sleep took them Miromaru let out a loud Yelp of pain only this time Amon did not need to wake her for she fell from the high tree limb she chose to sleep. She woke when she hit the ground and the other difference was she was slightly more composed than she had been the night before wile pale and trembling she was in her right mind her eyes were there normal Golden amber with the exception that they glistened with unshed tears. Amon sat watching the girl in front of him she was obliviously trying to fight the tears that wanted to fall. Amon started to say something comforting ,when all of a sudden she ran from the clearing. With a sigh Amon tried to go back to sleep but sleep just wouldn’t come to him .so he sat there and listened to the night sounds he could smell the salty sent of tears to his left and knew that Miromaru was off in the woods silently crying. He wished there were something that he could do but he knew that she didn’t trust him with her pain. She returned at dawn with a bucket of water her eyes were swollen but she otherwise looked all right she motioned for him to move forward and she began to change his bandages once more. While she worked he asked” could you tell me what happened during the time I was captured now?” When he had started to speak she had stiffened but relaxed when she heard his words. Without looking up from what she was doing she said “ what did Cousin Shippo tell you?”” Well he said that when my father was captured that your father and yourself went to rescue him and that you were hurt and your father captured and that it took you two weeks to get back to your castle only to find your mother dead “. She had finished treating his wounds by the time he had finished speaking she walked a short distance away and sat down with her back to him so that he could not see her face then she began to speak. “ Its true the war was going well in our favor and my father and myself went to rescue your father. We were ambushed and I was wounded. I was paralyzed and unable to move my father be captured they must have thought me dead for they never looked at me once I fell. Once I was able to move again I tracked them a ways and that’s how I found both Tensaiga and Tokijin. However I lost the trail it was then that I returned home to find my mother dead our lands in ruin . so I did what I thought was the right thing to do I took my sisters to safety and helped fix the villages. When that was done I did the same for the Northern and Eastern lands with the aid of Cousin Shippo of course. Then I found you and here we are.” She finished her voice had remained calm and factual the entire time but he knew that he wasn’t getting the entire story so he decided to ask” the scar on your back it looks as if you were hit from the back “. She looked at him and coldly stated “ back, front doesn’t matter a wound is a wound” he took this as a cue to just let it go so then he said “ how about we eat now I am starved” Grateful that he had dropped his line of questioning.
