InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ High School Diary ❯ Different Happenings ( Chapter 13 )
[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]
“ You think this whole thing will just pass?”
“ What thing?” Inuyasha asked looking up from his sketch book
“ The thing with Sesshomaru,” Sango said from her usual spot in study hall “ I mean it’s been a few weeks and he still hasn’t made a move yet.”
“ I don’t know, nor do I care so just drop it.”
Sango leaned back going over the past few weeks in her head, after the drive home that day Inuyasha had locked himself in his room only coming out to go to school and eat. Minako had asked her so many questions about it and practically worried herself into a coma. Shiori hadn’t gone out at all since then, Shippo actually started to bring some friends home and hung out with Kohaku regularly after school. Ayame and Sango actually got relatively close which was good because Inuyasha would barely speak anymore and she really needed someone to talk with ever since she started to feel increasingly stressed out. She just wished for once everything didn’t have to be so complicated.
“ So what’s wrong now?” Ayame asked sitting down next to her
“ Nothing in particular, and what the hell is with Miroku lately?”
“ What do you mean?”
“ I don’t know, he ignores me like crazy and I thought we were cool.”
“ Sango, I know you’re not that dense.” Ayame said with a look
“ What?” she asked defensively
“ You know he likes you, he’s upset about you and that guy and the fact you turned him down.”
“ What the fuck!” she almost yelled “ First of all, it wasn’t like I was a total bitch when I turned him down. Fucking pansy ass - ”
“ Sango!” Ayame said loudly cutting her off “ I know he said you both were cool, but he really really likes you, and you hurt him. Why can’t you give him a chance?”
Sango rolled her eyes, looking at the sky she felt bad about hurting his feelings but she just couldn’t go out with Miroku. The idea was absurd in her mind, and even though she admitted that he was a good guy she just didn’t want to go out with him. She sighed as her mind replayed the day she was trying to forget.
~~~~~
Sango was at her locker swearing rather loudly because she couldn’t find her Chemistry book. She stood back looking at the mess suddenly deciding to break into someone else’s locker and steal their book when she heard a familiar voice behind her.
“ Lose something?” he said with a grin
Sango glanced over and sighed loudly still gazing into her locker fuming over her Chemistry book which decided to perform a magic trick and disappear.
“ Making a habit out of coming up behind me out of no where?” she asked back
“ Not at all,” he said standing next to her trying to follow her gaze “ So, what are we looking at?”
“ Oh Ha ha,” she said punching his arm “ I can’t find my fucking Chemistry book.”
“ Did you lose it?”
“ I don’t know,” she said getting frustrated “ I thought I put the damn thing in there.”
Miroku turned to look at her, and took a deep breath. He had been thinking about Sango all day waiting for a moment to ask her out. After seeing her with that guy he realized how much he really did like her and she did say she wanted aggressive guy so he figured he had nothing to lose by just coming out with it. He gazed at Sango her face scrunched in an annoyance and swallowed hard, he had never been so nervous about asking someone out in his life.
“ You know we could always study together,” he said causing Sango to look directly at him “ I have my book, we could study for a while then go catch a movie or something.”
“ Wait,” she said making sure she was getting this “ Are you asking me out?”
“ Yes,” he said clearing his throat “ Yes, I am.”
Sango looked at him for a moment and suddenly felt really guilty. Normally, she never batted an eye lash after turning down any guy who thought they had a chance but didn’t she felt rather bad this time. She liked Miroku, he was cute, sweet when he wanted to be, and nice but she didn’t go for guys like him, and she just went on a date and spent all day Sunday with Bankostu. She should just shoot him down without giving it a second thought like every other guy but for some reason she couldn’t, she just couldn’t see him hurting like that because she wanted to be a bitch.
“ Fuck! Why is it now that I choose to have a Goddamn conscience!” She thought sighing rather loudly knowing she had to be nice when she turned him down.
“ Sango?” Miroku asked hopefully after her silence
“ Look,” she said as nicely as possible “ You’re cool and all Miroku but you’re really not the dating type for me, I mean you’re a nice guy, and very polite it’s just I see you as a friend.”
“ Oh,” he said quietly “ I mean that’s fine I guess.”
“ I’m sorry,” she said suddenly feeling like the biggest bitch on the planet “ I really am, I mean we’re still cool right?”
“ Sure,” he said with a fake grin “ I gotta go, I’ll talk to you later.”
“ Okay,” she said as he turned and began to walk off “ See ya.”
~~~~
“ Sango!” Ayame yelled snapping her out of her trance
“ What?” she asked annoyed
“ Why can’t you give him a chance?”
“ He’s not my type.” she said automatically
“ You mean he’s too much of a prep for you right?” she asked boldly
Sango looked at her suddenly wondering how much have they been hanging out the past few weeks that would make get inside her head like that.
“ So what?” she answered “ Everyone has a preference.”
“ Oh come on, that’s really lame. Especially for you.”
“ Aya,” she began using Ayame’s new nick name “ I’d like to get to know Bankotsu better, he’s fun as hell and I like him okay? So, can we just forget about Miroku? Cause it ain’t gonna happen.”
“ Fine.” she responded laying back on the grass
“ Besides,” Sango started “ He can have any other girl wants at this damn school, I’m sure he’ll get over it.”
Ayame glanced up at Sango and sighed loudly, because she really didn’t get it at all.
“ He doesn’t want any other girl.” she thought to herself “ He wants you Sango, why can’t you see that?”
Inuyasha glanced up at Sango and Ayame then continued his sketch. He wished he had simple problems like that, everything in his world just seemed to get harder and harder. Inuyasha sighed and just as he was reaching into his bag for an eraser a shadow loomed over him. He looked up, jumping up out of his spot in such a panic that Sango and Ayame looked freaked out.
“ Oh my gods!” Kagome said “ I’m so sorry. Are you okay?”
Inuyasha breathed heavily as he realized it was just Kagome, quietly he nodded and sat back down. He had been having nightmares about Kikyo ever since his visit with Jaylynn. Ignoring the stares he was getting he quietly began to draw again, trying to forget everything.
“ She’s not Kikyo,” he thought drawing furiously “ Kikyo is dead, she’s not coming back. Stop thinking about her, she’s not coming back.”
Kagome looked at him concerned before sitting on the grass between him and Sango. She looked at him, his face was pale and it looked like he wasn’t getting much sleep. Suddenly, she looked at his hand in only a matter of weeks it looked fine, only there were a few scars. She never really asked him about it ever since she heard when Miroku tried he nearly had his hand bitten off. She hadn’t been around much in the last few weeks, because of the major damage control she had to do with her other friends. As much as she hated them she just couldn’t bring herself to cut them off completely, and things with Hojo started to go bad after that night at The Paradise. She sighed loudly, wishing that she could do the things she said she would and wanted to do.
“ You sure you’re okay Inuyasha?” she asked him diverting from her thoughts
“ Fine.” he said ignoring her
“ Inuyasha - ”
“ So, what brings you here Princess?” Sango asked cutting her off
“ Nothing really,” she began “ I haven’t seen you all in a while and I thought I’d hang.”
“ Anything wrong?” Ayame asked “ You look a little upset?”
“ Can you guys keep a secret?” she asked
“ Of course.” Ayame said
After the few weeks she had all she wanted to do was talk to someone who would understand. She tried talking to Hojo but that didn’t go well, and in her heart she knew that things were just getting to a point where she couldn’t take it anymore.
“ I don’t like cheerleading, if I have to do another fucking cheer I’m going tear my hair out. I don’t want to be with Hojo anymore, I hate having to all that shit after school, I hate everything.”
When Kagome was finished, she looked up in horror at what she just said, all of it was true but she just couldn’t believe she said it out loud. Sango just sat there while Ayame sat up.
“ Why don’t you quit then?”
“ I can’t,” she began “ My mother would be so angry with me, I have to get into a good college, and of that will look good on my applications and as for the Hojo thing, everyone expects us to be together, and I just can’t.”
“ Yes, you can Kagome,” Ayame said trying to convince her “ You shouldn’t be with someone if you don’t want to.”
“ It’s not that simple, everyone expects us to be together and I like Hojo just not as a boyfriend at least not anymore and if I just break up with him then it’ll create so much drama. I just wish I could just do what I wanted, I hate living like this.”
Kagome laid back on the grass looking up at the sky wondering if she was ever going to shatter this cookie cutter image everyone had of her and be what she wanted. Sango looked at her suddenly getting pissed.
“ Why don’t you fucking do something about it then?”
“ What?” Kagome said suddenly sitting back up
“ Gods you are such a fucking spoiled brat! That’s why I swore I’d never be a girl like you!”
“ What the hell is that suppose to mean?”
“ It means, quite whining about how you wish you can do what you want because you can. You’re so comfortable your perfect little world that you’re afraid to mess that up.”
“ Hey Sango don’t you think -”
“ No I don’t!” she yelled cutting Ayame off “ You fucking make me sick!”
“ Hey!” Kagome said standing up “ Do you have any idea what it’s like to be me? To be expected to live up to these impossible standards, to have a mother who is never home because she’s always working, to have a father who died before you even got the chance to really know him, to have to do the same damn thing every single day of your life, to have to live by what everyone else expects you to be because you’re not allowed to be yourself!”
“ Are you done?” Sango asked looking up at her “ Because that is the biggest load of bullshit I have ever heard in my life.”
“ What!?!” she yelled her face getting hot as she noticed the stares she was getting
“ First of all,” she began “ The only standards you need to live up to is your own and fuck everyone else and what they think! Your real problem is that you want it all, popularity, being worshiped everywhere you go, being the so-called queen bee, and still do everything you want. Well, newsflash Princess life doesn’t work that way! In order to get what you really want you have to be willing to fight for it, make sacrifices, do whatever it takes or else you don’t really want it. You can’t have it all, you just need to decide what you want more and how far you’re willing to go to get there.”
“ Hey but -”
“ And as for your mother,” she started again cutting her off “ You should be thankful you have her because some of us don’t even have parents anymore.”
Ayame looked over at Sango and back up at Kagome thinking she was talking about her, she really had know idea that she was speaking about herself as well. Kagome stared hard at Sango and suddenly felt like a little girl who just got caught with her hand in the cookie jar, like she got caught doing something wrong and that’s when she realized Sango was right.
“Now if you’ll excuse me,” she said standing up “ I have to get going. Inuyasha, Ayame are you guys coming?”
Inuyasha instantly closed his sketch book, put it in his bag and stood up while Ayame hesitated at first but got up and joined them as well. Sango gave Kagome a look then walked off leaving her with her thoughts. Kagome stood there watching them letting Sango’s words sink in. She never thought of it like that before and the fact that she wasn’t willing to fight for the things she really wanted made her feel even more pathetic than she already did. She felt like such and idiot, she did want it all and she was afraid of what would happen if she “rocked the boat” so to speak. She was afraid of being that girl that she used to make fun of simply for being different and doing what she wanted, of being that girl who was brave enough to stand of on her own two feet instead of relying on her friends as a crutch. Which she did, she used them to make her feel important because she needed that. She never realized how insecure she really was until just now, she needed to be praised and people to like her to feel like she mattered. Then she thought of them, Inuyasha, Miroku, Ayame, and Miroku who just hung out with her just for being her. She didn’t have to pretend around them, and the more she thought about it the more she realized that was all she wanted all along. Sango only said those things to her for her own good, and now maybe she could do the things she wanted, maybe if they still wanted to be her friends.
“ You okay?”
Kagome turned around and saw Mirkou standing right behind her, she gave him a small smile then sighed loudly. Miroku had been a friend of hers for as long as she could remember, he always hung out with her and her crowd but had no problem being friends with Inuyasha. Kagome really admired him for that, for just doing whatever the hell he wanted and just didn’t waste time with people who had a problem with it and surprisingly most of the guys he hung out with didn’t really care. If only Sango could see what she was really missing, at first she never really understood Miroku’s attraction to her but now she kind of did. Sango wasn’t like anyone else at school by a long shot, she was unique, but even though she was a bit of a “ hard ass” she was still a cool person with her own thoughts and ideas, and the more Kagome thought about it the more she understood. Any real relationship Mirkou had been in had been with a completely different type of girl than the ones at this school and Sango was as different as they come but even so she still pretty much broke his heart, but then she thought maybe she could find some glue.
“ Sango sure knows how to tell it like it is huh?” with a small smile at her now formulating plan.
“ I guess,” Miroku answered with a small frown
“ Hey,” she said giving him another smile “ If she can’t see what a great guy you really are then she doesn’t deserve you.”
“ Thanks, but it doesn’t change the way I feel.” he said now leaning on a tree
“ Maybe there’s something we can do about that.” Kagome said suddenly
“ Like what?” Miroku asked raising his eyebrows.
“ I happen to have a plan,” she said with a huge grin that was beginning to scare Miroku “ But we need to make a deal first.”
“ Which is?”
“ You help me with my problem and I help you with yours. Deal?”
“ Okay,” he said standing straight up “ What’s the game plan?”
“ Let’s shake on it.”
Kagome and Miroku shook hands, as she began to smile like mad, she couldn’t wait to put everything into action.
“ So this is what we’re going to do....”
~~~~~
“ Are you sure that was a good idea Sango?,” Ayame asked her as they made their way back into school. “ I mean you don’t think that was to harsh or blunt?”
“ No.” she said simply walking ahead of her
“ But -”
“ Look Aya,” Sango said stopping right in front of the school building “ She needed to hear that. It just had to be done, being a whiny brat over something like that just pisses me off.”
“ I suppose you’re right,” she said sighing “ and that thing you said, were you just talking about me?”
“ I don’t know what your talking about.” she said pushing the school doors open
“ Yes you do,” she began “ About not having any parents. Were you just talking about me because you know I’ve never actually met your parents and -”
Suddenly, Ayame was cut off by a gaggle of girls running past them squealing with excitement. The three of them exchanged looks then without thinking Sango grabbed one of them by the arm stopping her in her tracks.
“ Sorry,” she said with fake niceness “ But would you mind telling me what’s going on?”
The girl looked at her just as her friend came up behind pulling at her other arm and jumping up and down.
“ Come on, we’re so gonna miss him.”
“ Miss who?” Ayame piped up as Sango let go of the girls arm.
“ There’s like this totally hot guy who is speaking with the office secretary I heard he is seriously like something out of a dream!”
After that was said the girls took off down the hallway making the three exchange looks once again. Inuyasha and Sango suddenly felt an impending sense of dread as Ayame looked at their faces she began to get curious about the guy.
“ Come on,” she said “ I’m kind of curious now.”
Without another word Ayame began to walk in the direction of the office with Inuyasha and Sango walking close behind her.
“ Who do you think it is?”
“ No clue.” Sango said truthfully unable to shake the incredible eery feeling she was getting.
Once they reached the office they saw a huge crowd of girls standing outside hoping to get a glimpse of the stranger. Sango rolled her eyes not believing how pathetic this was.
“ Go hide behind the corner.” she said as she walked off
They both shrugged and did as they were told the suddenly they heard a whistle causing them to peak around trying to see what's goin on, it turned out Sango went and got the gym coach to break up the crowd because before they knew it, girls where scattering in every direction. Then suddenly Sango was standing in front of them.
“ Let’s go.” she said with a laugh
Ayame looked into the window first and let out a long whistle.
“ Damn, they were right,” she said “ He’s gorgeous.”
“ Now, I’m curious,” Sango said moving over to look into the window with Ayame.
Sango looked in and instantly paled, even from the back she recognized that long silver hair. Suddenly, he began to turn around and Sango ducked mentally cursing, she had to get Inuyasha out of here.
“ Inuyasha we need to go.” she said grabbing him by the hand and pulling him down the hall. “ You have all your stuff with you right?”
“ Hey!” Inuyasha said yanking his arm away and they got halfway down the hallway “ What’s going on?”
“ Yeah,” Ayame said “ Do you know that guy?”
“ I’ll tell you once we get outside,” she said sternly “ Now, let’s move it!”
Sango grabbed his arm once more and ran until they were outside. Then without any explanation she began to walk towards the parking lot making her way towards their car. By then Sango let go of Inuyasha’s arm and the two continued to follow her until they were at the car.
“ Sango we still have one period left!” Ayame squealed “ We can’t leave.”
“ You don’t have to come with us.” She said looking in her bag for the keys
“ Mind telling me what’s going on?” Inuyasha said angrily “ What’s got you so worked up?”
“ Inuyasha, don’t play dumb,” she said looking him straight in the eye “ You know who was in that office.”
Suddenly, Inuyasha began to feel a panic rise in his chest as Sango found the keys and opened the car doors. Then without thinking Inuyasha immediately jumped into the passenger set while Sango got into the drivers seat. Ayame getting sick of being kept in the dark stood in front of the car as soon as the doors were closed and the engine had started.
“ Move!” Sango yelled through the window
“ Not until you tell me what’s going on!” she yelled back
Sango looked at Inuyasha then suddenly heard an announcement over the loud speaker for him to report to the office.
“ Just tell her.” Inuyasha said “ I don’t care.”
“ Get in,” she said through the window “ And I’ll tell you.”
Ayame looked at her suspiciously as she walked around and got into the backseat, then almost as soon as she got in, Sango pulled out of the lot and took off down the street.
~~~~~
Sesshomaru tapped his fingers on the office desk as the secretary hung up the phone. He looked around the office contemplating how he’d go about this asinine arrangement he made with Jaylynn to get his money back. He growled inwardly as his hazel eyes darted towards the door wondering how long this was going to take. He figured if he showed up at his school it would give him the upper hand. Suddenly getting extremely annoyed he looked over at the secretary who was sneaking glances at him when she really was supposed to be working.
“ Miss,” he said calmly, standing up straight. “ How long is this going to take?”
“ He should be here,” she said to him “ Well, I’ll have to call his class directly. Last period is just starting so maybe he didn’t hear the announcement over the noise.”
As the secretary picked up the phone once more the office door opened causing Sesshomaru’s eyes to dart in that direction. There he saw a boy with black hair tied into a short ponytail holding a huge video camera, he was just about to turn when he noticed he looked exceedingly familiar.
“ Yo Reiko!” he called to one of the guidance consolers walking behind the office desk “ What’s going down?”
“ Kohaku,” she said sternly “ It’s Miss Yamazaki.”
“ Okay sorry,” he said with an innocent grin
“ I’ll be with you in a moment.” she answered going through a filing cabinet
“ Kohaku,” Sesshomaru said suddenly remembering who he was
Kohalu looked up at him giving him a blank expression, he knew who he was and why he was here. Sango had filled him in on all the details about it the day after they went to talk to Jaylynn. He hadn’t seen Sesshomaru in a long time but he looked almost the same. Sesshomaru was about six feet two inches, with long silver hair, hazel eyes, pale skin, and a cold expression on his face. Kohaku hated him because he always felt that family should stick together, and he felt it was unforgivable to do what he did to Inuyasha. When everything went shitty in his life Sango was always there for him, Kohaku looked straight forward holding his camera a little tighter thinking about Sango and Inuyasha.
“ Yeah what?” he asked back as rudely as possible
“ How’s your sister?” he asked his eyes narrowing into slits
Kohaku continued to look forward as slight grin appeared on Sesshomaru’s face.
“ The boy is braver than he looks.” he thought to himself as he heard a light buzzing noise.
Kohaku shifted the camera to one arm, reached into his pocket and pulled out his cell.
“ Hello,” he said annoyed into the phone
“ Excuse me sir?” the secretary said to him causing him to divert his attention
“ It seems he’s not in class.” she said “ Kids, I swear, he must’ve left.”
“ No problem.” he responded turning his attention back to Kohaku
“ Yeah, got it.” Kohaku said hanging up the phone
“ Kohaku.” Sesshomaru said once again.
“ Yeah?” he answered putting the phone back into his pocket
“ Tell your sister that she can’t protect him,” he said suddenly walking past him to the door “ After all you and I both know that he can run but he can’t hide.”
Once Sesshomaru walked out the door Kohaku stared after him letting out a breath he didn’t even know he was holding.
“ Oh shit...” He thought mentally as the guidance counselor finally waved him over.
“ Is something wrong Mr. Kato?” she asked noticing the expression on his face.
“ Everything.” he said seriously looking at the door that Sesshomaru had just walked out of wondering how far exactly the whole thing was going to go.

“ Are you sure that was a good idea Sango?,” Ayame asked her as they made their way back into school. “ I mean you don’t think that was to harsh or blunt?”
“ No.” she said simply walking ahead of her
“ But -”
“ Look Aya,” Sango said stopping right in front of the school building “ She needed to hear that. It just had to be done, being a whiny brat over something like that just pisses me off.”
“ I suppose you’re right,” she said sighing “ and that thing you said, were you just talking about me?”
“ I don’t know what your talking about.” she said pushing the school doors open
“ Yes you do,” she began “ About not having any parents. Were you just talking about me because you know I’ve never actually met your parents and -”
Suddenly, Ayame was cut off by a gaggle of girls running past them squealing with excitement. The three of them exchanged looks then without thinking Sango grabbed one of them by the arm stopping her in her tracks.
“ Sorry,” she said with fake niceness “ But would you mind telling me what’s going on?”
The girl looked at her just as her friend came up behind pulling at her other arm and jumping up and down.
“ Come on, we’re so gonna miss him.”
“ Miss who?” Ayame piped up as Sango let go of the girls arm.
“ There’s like this totally hot guy who is speaking with the office secretary I heard he is seriously like something out of a dream!”
After that was said the girls took off down the hallway making the three exchange looks once again. Inuyasha and Sango suddenly felt an impending sense of dread as Ayame looked at their faces she began to get curious about the guy.
“ Come on,” she said “ I’m kind of curious now.”
Without another word Ayame began to walk in the direction of the office with Inuyasha and Sango walking close behind her.
“ Who do you think it is?”
“ No clue.” Sango said truthfully unable to shake the incredible eery feeling she was getting.
Once they reached the office they saw a huge crowd of girls standing outside hoping to get a glimpse of the stranger. Sango rolled her eyes not believing how pathetic this was.
“ Go hide behind the corner.” she said as she walked off
They both shrugged and did as they were told the suddenly they heard a whistle causing them to peak around trying to see what's goin on, it turned out Sango went and got the gym coach to break up the crowd because before they knew it, girls where scattering in every direction. Then suddenly Sango was standing in front of them.
“ Let’s go.” she said with a laugh
Ayame looked into the window first and let out a long whistle.
“ Damn, they were right,” she said “ He’s gorgeous.”
“ Now, I’m curious,” Sango said moving over to look into the window with Ayame.
Sango looked in and instantly paled, even from the back she recognized that long silver hair. Suddenly, he began to turn around and Sango ducked mentally cursing, she had to get Inuyasha out of here.
“ Inuyasha we need to go.” she said grabbing him by the hand and pulling him down the hall. “ You have all your stuff with you right?”
“ Hey!” Inuyasha said yanking his arm away and they got halfway down the hallway “ What’s going on?”
“ Yeah,” Ayame said “ Do you know that guy?”
“ I’ll tell you once we get outside,” she said sternly “ Now, let’s move it!”
Sango grabbed his arm once more and ran until they were outside. Then without any explanation she began to walk towards the parking lot making her way towards their car. By then Sango let go of Inuyasha’s arm and the two continued to follow her until they were at the car.
“ Sango we still have one period left!” Ayame squealed “ We can’t leave.”
“ You don’t have to come with us.” She said looking in her bag for the keys
“ Mind telling me what’s going on?” Inuyasha said angrily “ What’s got you so worked up?”
“ Inuyasha, don’t play dumb,” she said looking him straight in the eye “ You know who was in that office.”
Suddenly, Inuyasha began to feel a panic rise in his chest as Sango found the keys and opened the car doors. Then without thinking Inuyasha immediately jumped into the passenger set while Sango got into the drivers seat. Ayame getting sick of being kept in the dark stood in front of the car as soon as the doors were closed and the engine had started.
“ Move!” Sango yelled through the window
“ Not until you tell me what’s going on!” she yelled back
Sango looked at Inuyasha then suddenly heard an announcement over the loud speaker for him to report to the office.
“ Just tell her.” Inuyasha said “ I don’t care.”
“ Get in,” she said through the window “ And I’ll tell you.”
Ayame looked at her suspiciously as she walked around and got into the backseat, then almost as soon as she got in, Sango pulled out of the lot and took off down the street.
~~~~~
Sesshomaru tapped his fingers on the office desk as the secretary hung up the phone. He looked around the office contemplating how he’d go about this asinine arrangement he made with Jaylynn to get his money back. He growled inwardly as his hazel eyes darted towards the door wondering how long this was going to take. He figured if he showed up at his school it would give him the upper hand. Suddenly getting extremely annoyed he looked over at the secretary who was sneaking glances at him when she really was supposed to be working.
“ Miss,” he said calmly, standing up straight. “ How long is this going to take?”
“ He should be here,” she said to him “ Well, I’ll have to call his class directly. Last period is just starting so maybe he didn’t hear the announcement over the noise.”
As the secretary picked up the phone once more the office door opened causing Sesshomaru’s eyes to dart in that direction. There he saw a boy with black hair tied into a short ponytail holding a huge video camera, he was just about to turn when he noticed he looked exceedingly familiar.
“ Yo Reiko!” he called to one of the guidance consolers walking behind the office desk “ What’s going down?”
“ Kohaku,” she said sternly “ It’s Miss Yamazaki.”
“ Okay sorry,” he said with an innocent grin
“ I’ll be with you in a moment.” she answered going through a filing cabinet
“ Kohaku,” Sesshomaru said suddenly remembering who he was
Kohalu looked up at him giving him a blank expression, he knew who he was and why he was here. Sango had filled him in on all the details about it the day after they went to talk to Jaylynn. He hadn’t seen Sesshomaru in a long time but he looked almost the same. Sesshomaru was about six feet two inches, with long silver hair, hazel eyes, pale skin, and a cold expression on his face. Kohaku hated him because he always felt that family should stick together, and he felt it was unforgivable to do what he did to Inuyasha. When everything went shitty in his life Sango was always there for him, Kohaku looked straight forward holding his camera a little tighter thinking about Sango and Inuyasha.
“ Yeah what?” he asked back as rudely as possible
“ How’s your sister?” he asked his eyes narrowing into slits
Kohaku continued to look forward as slight grin appeared on Sesshomaru’s face.
“ The boy is braver than he looks.” he thought to himself as he heard a light buzzing noise.
Kohaku shifted the camera to one arm, reached into his pocket and pulled out his cell.
“ Hello,” he said annoyed into the phone
“ Excuse me sir?” the secretary said to him causing him to divert his attention
“ It seems he’s not in class.” she said “ Kids, I swear, he must’ve left.”
“ No problem.” he responded turning his attention back to Kohaku
“ Yeah, got it.” Kohaku said hanging up the phone
“ Kohaku.” Sesshomaru said once again.
“ Yeah?” he answered putting the phone back into his pocket
“ Tell your sister that she can’t protect him,” he said suddenly walking past him to the door “ After all you and I both know that he can run but he can’t hide.”
Once Sesshomaru walked out the door Kohaku stared after him letting out a breath he didn’t even know he was holding.
“ Oh shit...” He thought mentally as the guidance counselor finally waved him over.
“ Is something wrong Mr. Kato?” she asked noticing the expression on his face.
“ Everything.” he said seriously looking at the door that Sesshomaru had just walked out of wondering how far exactly the whole thing was going to go.
