Look At Me

Summary: “Look at me. Onegai please just look me in the eyes and tell me you don't care about me anymore, that what we had was just a lie, just a passing glance between strangers, something like that but don't look at me and tell me you love me, if you don't”

The rain poured heavily on the fighting couple. Kagome hadn't seen the need to go back into their apartment- the battle at hand had her attention. Kagome had been oddly serene during the entire conflict. InuYasha had once again been spied with Kikyo in his arms. Kagome was so.... well she had somewhat expected it. He had been acting peculiar for the past... well since they had married.

He was perfectly fine before they were married, and once the “I do's” had been uttered, the oddities began.

 

“At least tell me why” she asked in an eerie calm. There was a long pause and then she continued “Tell me why you were with her, InuYasha. Am I not enough for you?” she cried out, her voice was full of desperation, and tears ran down her cheeks.

 

InuYasha refused to answer, he merely looked at the floor and scuffed a piece of grass with his shoe.

 

“Kami Chikusho InuYasha” she cried out

 

“Kagome” he whispered

 

“O miro watashi..” she begged “O miro watashi anata wa sheseiji!!!” she screamed

InuYasha was thrown off-guard by Kagome's foul language

 

“Koishii onegai ”

 

“NO. Don't ever call me that, don't ever call me koishii. I am not your beloved! ” she sobbed

 

“Kagome.” He didn't even bother to look at her

 

“InuYasha look at me. LOOK. AT. ME.” She cried pitifully

 

“I can't” he finally replied

 

“Why not? Is it because you realized what you did?! Is it because...”

 

“It's because you remind me of her” he whispered. As soon as he said it, he knew it was the wrong thing.

 

“I remind you ... of her?! I remind you of a home-wrecking whore!!?” she cried with disgust on her face

 

“Don't ever call her that!” he screamed as he slapped her across the face

 

“Kagome...” he said as he cupped her chin to look at the red mark he had made.

She quickly jerked her head and slapped his hand away from her.

 

“Don't. you've done enough”

 

“Kagome...”

 

“Go”

 

“Kagome... I love you...” he started but she quickly cut him off. He was now looking down at the ground when she began.

 

“Look at me. Onegai please just look me in the eyes and tell me you don't care about me anymore, that what we had was just a lie, just a passing glance between strangers, something like that but don't look at me and tell me you love me, if you don't” she cried out.

 

“Kagome.... “

 

“Go InuYasha”

 

He stood there, un-moving, and stared at her. Kagome looked down at the ground then back at him when she realized he hadn't left.

 

“LEAVE! Go back to her, and away from me! It's what you want” she cried

 

He hated to see her cry and he hated to leave her like this, but he did as she asked.

 

“Good bye” he whispered leaving the girl to sob alone.
