Chapter 5

- - Sesshomaru's POV - -

I woke up before Kagome did. I watched her sleep, her smell surrounding me. Her smell
had already begun to change, becoming more like my own. She whispered, "Sesshomaru." Then,
her eyes opened and focused on me. "Sesshomaru," she said more clearly. She relaxed and
closed her eyes again. "I'm so sore, Sesshomaru." I smiled, remembering all the actions last
night that had made her sore.

I took pity on her, picking her up and carrying her to the steaming water in the bathroom.
I tenderly lowered her into the water, then slid myself in too. She leaned back into me, laying her
head on my chest. Kagome moved her hand so it, too, was lying on my chest. "Sesshomaru, I
love you." I kissed her, pressing my lips against her own soft, rosy lips. I pulled away so I could
reach for the bottle of shampoo she had left nearby, pouring some out into my hand so I could
wash her hair. I pulled her under water to rinse her hair out, and brought her back up, pulling her
hair to one side of her neck.

I noticed purple marking on the side neck, where I had bitten her last night. It was shaped
into my own crest. But, I thought that could only happen with two yokai. Kagome's a miko - they
can't be demons.

"Sesshomaru? What's wrong?" she asked.

"Remember how I . . . bit you last night?" she nodded. "There is a mark there now. A
mating mark that is only supposed to appear on a couple who are both pure yokai."

She gasped, her entire expression showing her surprise. "But, I'm human! Or, at least, I
was told I was. And I have miko powers - mikos can't be demons. Right?" I nodded. "Could we
talk to my mom about this?"

"Yes, you need to know who you are. Where does your mother live?"

"Well . . . in the future. I lived in the future too, before I fell through Bone Eater's Well.
Inuyasha and I can both travel back and forth through the well to our different time periods. I
don't know if you could get through. But it's worth a try." She smiled reassuringly, seeing my
confusion.

"You live in the . . . future. How many years forward in time?"

"A lot."

". . . Okay, we will leave in a while for this well. And we will see if I can go to your time
period. I will leave you to your preparation and go tell the others that I will not be here for some
amount of days." I left, still confused. I found Jaken and told him that I would be gone. Then I
waited in the garden for my Kagome.

She walked into the garden a while later, wearing a white kimono that was patterned with
cherry blossoms. She had a detailed metal cherry blossom in her hair, which was left down. I
picked her up and formed my cloud, beginning to fly us towards Bone Eater's Well.

We stopped halfway there so I could catch something for Kagome to eat. She hadn't
eaten before we left. So, after she ate the fish I had caught and she had cooked, we continued on
towards the well. I lowered us down next to the well.

"Well, I guess we'll see now if you can travel to my time or not." Kagome smiled
nervously and held my hands, telling me to jump in at the same time as her. We jumped; I was
surrounded by swirling blue, ending up in a dark and small area. I jumped out, and helped
Kagome out of the well. "So you can come to this time period." She showed me the way out of
the well house and walked me over to the door of a small house. "This is my house,
Sesshomaru."
