~Prologue~
The story goes that a young priestess protected and gave her life for the Jewel. It also says that she fell in love with a half demon and lost her life because of it. This story is partly true. This story was told so that no one would know what really happened. That the priestess turned on her friends in hopes of getting the half demon.
Long ago in feudal Japan, in a small village, three women protected the jewel. A Human, a Half-Demon, and a Full Demon. The human was the Lady Kikyo from which the story tells of. The other two women were her closets friends that she soon would turn her back on. Isa was the Half-Demon. Her father was the Dog demon of the South and her mother was a priestess. She was more powerful than Kikyo and had an attitude to match. Her looks had no parallel to Kikyo either. She had long black hair and icy blue eyes. One look at you and it looked like she was staring straight into your soul. Her body had all the right curves. She had two delicate black dog-ears on top of her head. Her chest wasn't overly big but not small. Her clawed hands were so sharp she could easily slide her nail across a quilt and cut it in half.
Her best friend was the Full-Demon. Her name was Kayko. Though she was a full demon she was a mix of two species. Her father was the Great Dog Demon Inu-Tisho; her mother was the Heir to the North. Her grandfather was the Leader of the North her cousin being Ayame. Kayko too was stronger than Kikyo but never liked to fight. Kayko always seemed to be the mediator. Her hair was brown and reached her mid back. She had Brown dog-ears like Isa on her head and Emerald Green eyes. She had a long flowing brown wolf tail. Her body curved like an hourglass just like Isa, but unlike Isa she had a huge chest. Something that really got on her nerves.
The old story was a cover up, to keep Kikyo looking good to her village. The true story has a tragic ending with the death of the Priestess Kikyo and the heartbreak of the two other women. The true story begins.......
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~OOOOO OOOOOOOO~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kikyo watched her twp friends scout the woods. They did this three times a day to watch out for demons coming for the jewel. They had no chance against the strong women. Her eyes moved to the trees as a red figure jumped on into the forest after Isa and Kayko. Kikyo glared in jealousy as Inuyasha disappeared into the forest. She loved the half-demon but he was in love with Isa. She had fallen for him the day she met him. She sighed and went about her business. She kept thinking of Inuyasha through the day. With her chores in the fields done she wiped the sweat from her brow and took a long breath. Her back went ridged as the hair on the back of her neck stood up. She turned and looked off into the forest. The aura of a strong demon, an evil demon was pulsing. She walked to her and her sister’s hut and grabbed her bow and arrow. Little Keade looked up at her Sister. "Where you going sister?" Her eyes holding innocenence. "I sense a demonic presence. Tell Isa and Kayko I'll be back in a few." She walked off into the forest her quiver resting on her shoulder, her brown orbs looking around.
She stopped when the aura pulsed stronger in front of her. She pulled out an arrow and aimed it toward the aura. "Leave now or perish." She heard a demonic chuckle coming from the forest. "But i have not come to harm you or your village. I have come here for a proposition. Your in love with the half demon Inuyasha right." Kikyo lifted an arrow and lowered her bow. "What is it, your proposition you have for me?" The dark figure walked out, dressed in a baboon pelt. "I know how you can get Inuyasha to fall in love with you. You just have to get Isa out of the picture." Kikyo glared and raised her arrow. "I will not harm my friend." The pelt heaved up and down as the voice chuckled. "No we would never want to harm her physically. But i know a way to break her heart. To make her not trust Inuyasha, leaving you with open arms to hold him and fix his pain." Kikyo lowered her bow again. "Continue." From under the pelt a crooked smile crossed the face of the 3 Shikon maidens friendship.
Back in the village Kayko and Isa walked back in. The were both giggling about Inuyasha. He had slipped while jumping through the trees and landed face first into the ground. He was embarrassed that he had done that in front of Isa. Isa had run over to make sure he was ok then began laughing when he splerted out "feh". Isa walked to Kikyo's hut and stared at little Kaede as she was sitting outside looking towards the forest. "What are you looking for Kaede?" Isa said. She looked up at the two women and smiled. She had been told to stay lying down by the healer of the village. She had lost her eye when practice with a bow went badly and the bow snapped. "I'm waiting for my sister to come back. She went to take care of a demon. She told me to tell you two she'd be back soon." Kayko smiled and walked up to her. "I think its time to change that bandage Hun." Kaede flinched slightly then nodded. She got up and walked back inside the hut and over to her floor pad. Isa looked off towards the forest. She was waiting for Kikyo to walk out before she walked into the Hut. Kayko had followed Kaede in and began changing the bandage. "It looks better, not as puffy." Kaede smiled.
Kikyo smiled at the demon. She liked his idea. Their plan to weaken the two demons was going to work. "I'll meet you at the sacred tree when the sun hits high in the sky." Kikyo turned and nodded at the man. "I'll see you then." She walked off out of the forest. Isa spotted her and smiled. She walked into the hut and sat down next to Keade. "Kikyo is on her way." Keade smiled and hugged Isa. Kayko had started on dinner for the 4 girls as Kikyo walked into the hut. She placed her bow and Arrow by the door and walked over to Keade. "Hello little sister." She kissed her forehead before sitting down. "Keade smiled "Lady Kayko said my eye is getting better. Soon i won't have to wear this stupid Bandage." Kikyo smiled down at her sister and looked at her two friends. "Thank you for helping her." Isa and Kayko looked at Kikyo weird. Kikyo never kissed her sister and never said thank you. Kayko went back to her cooking, looking at Kikyo out the corner of her eye. Isa had gotten up and looked out a window. "No problem," was the last thing either of them said the rest of the night.
The next morning Isa and Kayko walked off back into the forest. Last night they had felt an aura and wanted to go off and find out what it was. They both split up in the forest. Inuyasha was at his favorite spring when his nose twitched. The smell of burning herbs filled the area. His eyes widened, as he smelt his sister in the middle of it. "Kayko!" He ran off to the cloud of smoke. His nose and eyes burning from the smell. He walked around trying to find his sister. Her body rejected herbs. It made her sick and close to death. He ran forward when he saw a black lump lay on the ground in the gray fog. He picked up the unconscious body of his sister and jumped out of the smog. He landed in a tree and looked at her. She was breathing but barely. He looked around and jumped off into the forest till he came to a clear area. He laid his sister down and moved her hair from her face. Her chest was slowly rising. He got up and ran off in the direction he smelt water. He needed to get her to drink something.
Back in the forest at the sacred tree Kikyo waited for her partner in crime. She had set fire to a small field of herbs. Kayko would be lying in them by now. She turned when she heard her partner chuckle. "Now for part 2. Here comes Isa." Her partner’s body morphed to look like Inuyasha. He wrapped his arms around Kikyo's body and kissed her. Isa walked up to the sacred tree. Her and Kayko always met up here when they got done scouting. She stopped in mid-step when she saw Inuyasha kissing Kikyo. Tears wielded up in her eyes as she turned and ran off back into the forest. Kikyo and her partner pulled away smiling. Their plan was working.
Inuyasha looked around panicked. He needed to find Isa. She was going to be his only help. He kissed his sister's forehead and smiled. "I'll be back little sister. I won't ever leave you." He got up and ran off. "I won't be Sesshoumaru." He made his feet move faster than he normally made them. His white fuzzy ears were laid back against his head, his body hunched over as he moved faster. She slowed down when he came near the village. He looked around hoping to spot Isa. He whirled around fast when he thought he heard her. His eyes caught sight of long black hair moving behind a tree. He jogged forward and looked around. His eyes widened as his jaw and heart dropped. Isa was in the arms of another man. Kissing him. He back up, heart ache clear across his face. He trusted her. He also promised her that as long as he loved her head wouldn't try and make himself stronger, stronger than his brother. He glared and turned around running off. Forgetting Kayko laying in the forest, recovering. All he wanted to do was become stronger. He had the same mind set that he had the day he met Isa.
Kayko woke up in the forest her eyes blurry as she stared up at the sky. She didn't know her brother saved her life, she only thought that the wind blew the smoke away. She stared at the sky a little bit longer. The sun was starting to set and the sky was an array of colors. She slowly sat up, rubbing her head. Something wasn't right. She looked around then looked in the direction where the village would be. She slowly got up and held herself up with a tree. She needed to get home.
Kikyo found Inuyasha sitting under a tree. He was waiting fore the cover of night before attacking, but he was having second thoughts. His eyes were glazed over as he stared at the ground. He didn't look up when Kikyo walked up. She placed a hand on his shoulder and knelt next to him. "I wanted to tell you what Isa was doing, but I she would have killed me if i told you." His glazed eyes looked at her before looking back at the ground. Kikyo huffed and wrapped her arm around his arm. "It’s going to be ok. I'm here for you." Inuyasha stood up and shoved her off him. "I don't need your help." He jumped up into the trees and moved towards the village.
Back at the village, many of the huts were burning. The Jewel, which was sitting inside the shrine, was slowly becoming tainted because
The hearts of it protectors were slowly growing dark. Isa ran around the village, trying to stop the fires that were breaking out. Her head jolted up when she saw a red figure smashing into the shrine roof. She watched as many of the men in the town ran to the shrine. She threw her hands up as the Shrine exploded and many of the men were thrown backwards.
She looked up as Inuyasha flew over head jumping from hut to hut towards the forest. She grabbed her bow and arrows from the, ground were she threw them when she was helping put the fires out, and ran after him. Isa caught up to him as he jumped in front of the sacred tree. He was soon hit with an arrow and stuck to a tree. He looked up to see Isa and Kikyo standing there. Kikyo held her bow up and slowly put it down to her side. "No one rejects me." Inuyasha looked up at her then Isa, his eyes slowly closing. He smiled at Isa before whispering, "i love you." He closed his eyes lying limp on the tree.
Isa glared at Inuyasha, not hearing him whisper "I love you." She turned towards Kikyo. "He was kissing you! You took him away from me!!" Kayko had walked up, right as Inuyasha was stuck to the tree. She turned towards Kikyo. She smelt of smoke, the smoke that had knocked her out. Her eyes went red as a growl came from her chest. Both Kikyo and Isa turned and looked at her. "YOU TOOK HIM AWAY! YOU TOOK MY BROTHER FROM ME!" Kikyo stepped back, her eyes widening at Kayko. The wind had picked up around her. From behind a tree Little Keade saw it all.
Kayko charged at Kikyo and jumped into the air, morphing into a wolf. Her eyes had gone red as she jumped up and bite down on Kikyo's shoulder. While Kayko attacked, Isa held her head, fighting not to go full demon like Kayko. They were so close that if one turned demon, the other would follow. Kikyo fell to her knees as she held her shoulder. She looked at her hand as blood dripped off. Kayko turned around from where she landed and looked at Kikyo. Her blood dripped from her jaws as she started walking towards her. Isa walked forward, her eyes on the verge of going fully red. "You no longer deserve to be part of the Shikon Maidens" Isa picked up the jewel as Kikyo fell over dead, from blood loss.
Kayko morphed back walking over to a tree and throwing up. She never liked the taste of human blood. The smell and taste made her sick. Isa walked over to her and placed a hand on her back. Kayko stood up straight and looked at her. Keade moved around from behind the tree and walked over. She stared at her sister. Only one tear falling. "The other day, when she went to that strange demon aura. She changed." Kayko looked at her and sighed. "I’m so sorry sweetie." Kayko knelt next to her and wrapped her arms around her and hugged her. Keade hugged back. "I saw a demon on the hill. She walked up to him. He looked so creepy."
Isa turned around and looked at Inuyasha. Her eyes softened slightly before she turned around towards the sound of the towns people came running. Isa looked at Keade and Kayko. "They will never know what happened. We will tell them that she was attacked in the field and came here. There was nothing we could do to save her." Keade looked up at her and nodded. "I agree, no one needs to know she betrayed you two. "She looked up at Kayko who was looking at Isa. "I guess that means after her funeral we need to leave."
Isa nodded and looked at the jewel. "We will burn it with her body. That way no demon can get it. Inuyasha will be stuck up there forever," She looked up at him, "..For Kikyo is the only one who can take that arrow out." Kayko stood up as the town’s people gathered around. The crowded started murmuring as they started asking each other what happened. Isa stood up to tell them. She stared at them all, "She died to a demon attack in the field." She held up the jewel. "She shall be burned with it so that the jewel will no longer be an influence with the demons that want it." Two men stepped forward and nodded. One picked up the dead body of Kikyo, while the other made a path for him to walk through.
Kayko watched the fire as it engulfed Kikyo. She looked across the fire toward Isa. Isa looked back at her. She nodded her head and walked off. Kayko followed. They both kissed Keade on the head before walking off, not to return for 50 years.
