Chapter one: The day

Kagome slept in her bed. Under the nice silky comfortable covers of her times nice warm fuzzy fabrics. The fabrics and comforts only 2004 can produce. Unknowing in her unconsciousness the three shadows at the foot of her bed.

"Ok on the count of three!" one of the whispered with urgency. "One… two…tree!"

"SURPRISE!" the three shadows jumped up from there hiding places and screamed. Kagome jumped up at the moment. Only to relax when she realized who it was. It was her just Mom Ji-chan and Souta. Her mom had a birthday cake in her hands. It read 'HAPPY 16th BIRTHDAY KAGOME!' with rainbow streamers decorated around the yellow icing. Then she realized the day. It was exactly a year since she fell through the well. Had so much time come to pass already? So much had happened. They met Shippo, Miroku, and Sango. Inu-Yasha and Kagome were now mated in demon terms. It had only happened a few weeks back. But it was wonderful. Kikyo was trying to kill me. Inu-Yasha put her to rest and then explained to me how much he loved me. Then he asked me to become his mate. Of course I loved him so much I couldn't say no. We had sex for the first time that night it was... it was… there are no words to describe it… amazing! Then today we were going to do something special. Our anniversary. Or at least that's what we think of it as. The day we met. The day our souls were reunited and the day I unknowingly met the only man… well half man.... I would ever love. "Kagome… make a wish make a wish!" Souta yelled in excitement snapping Kagome out of her thinking.

She blew out her candles and they all went downstairs to eat the cake. It was noon before she could finally get away from her family to go back to the well. Not that she didn't love her family, but she knew if she stayed any longer Inu-Yasha would be pissed no matter what she said or did. She took her pack and threw it over her shoulder and walked down the shrine steps into the well house. She stood up on the side of the well and jumped down.
