Kingdom Hearts

All I know was that I was falling, spiraling downward. I forced myself to open my eyes to find darkness surrounding me.

“I’ve been having these weird thoughts lately…like is any of this for real or not?”

I slowly let my eyes close again as I continued to fall. Suddenly a bright flash of light surrounded me and in panic my eyes sprang

open. I found myself standing on a small Island…our island. I looked around and up into the crystal blue sky. It was then I noticed a

lone figure standing in the water and I shielded my eyes my eyes for a better view “Riku” I thought letting my arm down slowly, I

smiled. I began to run towards him then I stopped startled as the water began to move away from me. I then looked up in shock as a

giant wave formed in front of him. Riku turned slowly to face me “Why wasn’t he running?” He calmly reached out his hand

toward me

“Riku!” I cried running forward. I wasn’t going to make it. I was slammed backward as the wave collided with me and the impact

flung me into cartwheels underwater. I grimaced and looked forward to see Riku standing as calmly as he had before and he again

stretched out his hand before me. I began swimming, reaching for him and it was then I noticed that the current was pulling me back.

My brows knotted together in concentration, but it was no use and I was carried away from him. I found myself drifting towards the

surface and I took in a mouthful of air shaking my wet hair. I looked around it was now dawn. “What is happening?” I then noticed

a small movement on the beach “Laguna” I thought. There he was shouting for me waving his hand in the air vigorously. I smiled

and waved back relief flooding threw me. I began running toward the shore. I stopped when my feet hit dry land and I leaned on my

knees to catch my breath Laguna laughed. Suddenly he looked up and his smile faded I looked at him in confusion and when his

eyes continued to stare I turned to see what had caught his attention. Blue streaks of light were falling from the sky. “Meteors?” My

heart stopped. Something else was falling too but unlike the others this one wasn’t emitting any light. As It came closer I realized that

I was looking at myself. It was me falling from the sky. I backed up in horror and found my foot hitting empty air. I saw Laguna turn

toward me startled as I fell into what looked like a vast open sky. I forced my head up and reached above me. “Sora!” I saw

Laguna’s mouth as he reached his hand toward me but his image soon disappeared like a ripple of water. I found myself falling into a

ring of light and then darkness again. I began spiraling downward. When I was finally able to open my eyes I felt my feet hit a solid

surface. I jerked my head up looking around. I took a hasty step forward and a quick flash caused me to look down. I shielded my

face as a brightly illuminated floor began to reveal itself. Hundreds of doves that had been covering the surface flew towards the sky.

I glanced in awe and watched as the last one flew into the vast darkness above me. A single feather floated softly past my face.

I glanced around and observed the image at my feet a whimsical picture of a ebony haired woman covered the surface with the faces

of seven men placed in the background. “Where am I?” My eyes widened when a mysterious voice stated So much to do, so little

time…Take your time.
I glanced around wildly. “Was someone there?” I could see no one. The door is still shut, Now step

forward, can you do it?
fear had me frozen in place “what would happen if I did?” I calmed myself and curiosity got the better of

me. I stepped forward. I waved my hands out to balance myself as the ground began to shake. I closed my eyes. When I opened

them I could now see three stones in front of me. Each stone had a glowing object place upon it. If you give it form it will give

you strength, choose well.
My body instinctively moved toward a familiar object. I reached out and grabbed it’s hilt. It was heavy

unlike the light wooden ones that I used to play with. The power of a warrior, invincible courage, A sword of terrible

destruction. Is this the power you seek?
yes.” The sword disappeared in a shimmer of light. Your path is set. Now what will

you give up in exchange?
I turned slowly and headed toward the staff. You give up this power? “yes.” You’ve chosen the

power of the warrior, You’ve given up the power of the mystic. Is this the form you choose? “
yes.” I stepped back as the

stones disappeared and a loud crack caused me to cry out as the ground beneath me shattered. I was once again floating toward

another vibrant surface this one of a woman in an elegant golden dress. As soon as my feet hit the ground the sword from before

appeared in my hand. You gained the power to fight. I tested the weight of the sword in my hands and slashed the air with it. All

right! You’ve got it.
Use this power to protect others. I nodded to myself, but I still didn’t understand. Suddenly I froze,

Something was wrong. Dark shadows began to form on the floor. I stepped back and the shadows lifted themselves of the floor! I

turned. I was surrounded. One of them jumped toward me Its eyes glowing. “It looks like a bug.” I felt my skin crawl. I brought the

sword down quickly. The blade sliced threw the creature and it disappeared. Even though it may have been heavier than my wooden

one the basics were still the same. I spun around quickly and thrust the sword forward and up. Knocking some away while piercing

others. I began to breath faster as my heart began beating wildly. Finally I noticed that the shadows had stopped attacking. They

faced me and began to slowly melt into the floor disappearing. I sighed in relief and glanced up looking around. Unlike the other

floors this one had a door. I walked slowly up to it to examine it. I reached forward to push it open but it was locked. “Now what?”

I thought. I looked around and noticed that their was also a chest. I ran to it and opened the lid. The chest disappeared and a barrel

appeared in its place. I listened waiting for some guidance from the mysterious voice, but their was silence. I moved back toward the

door. I didn’t understand “what am I supposed to do?.” I found myself by the barrel again and this time I grinned. I lifted it above

my head and threw it toward the ground it shattered and this time a crate appeared. “Gotcha!” I thought. I did the same to the crate.

I heard a loud groaning sound and turned to find that light now spilled out from a open door. I ran toward it in wonder. Once I

stepped threw I was met with a rather familiar site. I was back on the Island this time on the giant dock built like a ship. Hold on the

door wont open just yet, First, tell me more about yourself
. I was greeted by three familiar faces. I walked up to the smiling girl.

“What do you want out of life?” Raine asked sweetly. I thought about it some. “To see rare sights” I decided. She nodded and

stated “to see rare sights, huh?” I then walked up to Tidus. “What are you afraid of?” “Being indecisive” I stated. “Is that really so

scary” he said chuckling. I walked toward Yuna who was looking toward the sky. “What’s most important to you?” She asked

softly. “Friendship” I said quickly. “Is that really such a big deal?” She asked turning toward me. You’re afraid of being

indecisive, you want to see rare sights, friendship is the most important thing to you. You’re adventure begins at dawn as

long as the sun is shining, your journey should be a pleasant one. The day when you open the door is both far and near.

the vision faded in front of me and I saw that I was once again surrounded by more of the shadow creatures. I stepped bravely

forward and began to fight them. Once the last of them was gone three sections of the ground began to glow and release a sparkling

magic. It swirled behind me and revealed a walkway of colorful platforms. I ran forward seeing another large tower ahead of me.

Once I reached the platform the voice stated suddenly The closer you get to the light, the greater your shadow becomes. I

turned around to view my shadow and I looked at in fear as it slowly lifted itself off the floor. I watched as it began to grow bigger.

My heart began to beat faster “run!” I told myself But don’t be afraid. I turned quickly and ran forward but stopped suddenly

arms flailing as I almost fell from the edge. I backed up and turned around. And don’t forget. My shadow had grown into a hideous

creature. It stood close to three stories tall now. A huge gaping hole in the shape of a heart decorated his stomach. his face was

veiled in darkness. Only his eyes emitted light, a soft eerie glow piercing out of the darkness. I leaped out of the way as a giant hand

came down and smashed the surface of the ground. I glanced up and screamed as something smashed into my back and I turned to

find glowing spheres coming toward me. I dodged them and headed back to his exposed hand. I brought the sword down and

began slicing at it. Suddenly a pool of darkness began to spread underneath his hands. I jumped back more of the shadow creatures

appeared. One jumped up and sliced his claws toward my head I ducked and swung my sword in a circle defeating the first three in

the line. The rest scattered and sunk into the floor. I turned my attention back to the hand and again began to cut. I jumped back as

he lifted his hand from the floor and swung at me. I jumped back and covered my eyes from the giant gust of wind that fallowed. I

glanced up as he stopped and looked down upon me. A shiver ran down my spine. I suddenly found myself standing in a circle of

darkness and to my horror it began sucking me downward. I began to struggle as the darkness wrapped around me. But Don’t be

afraid you hold the mightiest weapon of all.
I screamed as I was engulfed by the black circle. So don’t forget, you are the one

that will open the door.
I opened my eyes slowly blinking until my eyes grew adjusted to the bright light above my head . I sat up

and yawned noting that I was still tired I allowed myself to fall back into the sand, and was startled to see someone standing above

me. “Whoa!” I shouted in surprise once again jerking myself forward. The dark haired boy gave a deep throaty laugh narrowing his

eyes evilly. “Give me a break, Laguna” I said giggling. “Sora you lazy Bum!” He shouted smiling. He closed his eyes and placed his

hands behind his back trying to imitate a elderly teacher. “I just knew I’d find you snoozing down here.” He nodded to himself as he

said this. “No,” I said getting excited. “This huge black THING swallowed me! I couldn’t breath I couldn’t- Ow!” I said as his

knuckle rapped my head. I began to rub the now tender area. “Are you still dreaming?” He asked. “It wasn’t a dream I persisted…or

was it? I don’t know. What was that place?” I asked now talking to myself more than Laguna, “so bizarre.” “Yeah, sure” Laguna

said still smiling broadly. He headed past me toward the shore. “Say, Laguna” I said thinking. “What was your hometown like? You

know where you grew up.” “I’ve told you before I don’t remember” he answered. “Nothing at all?” I asked questioningly. “Nothing”

he said more slowly. “You ever wanna go back?” “Well” he said thinking “I’m happy here.” “Really?” I asked seriously. He didn’t

answer for a moment and his smile now faded into a more thoughtful look. “But you know, I wouldn’t mind going to see it” he

stated. “I’d like to see it to. Along with any other worlds out there. I want to see them all!” He laughed be careful your starting to

sound just like-“Hey,” a voice stated from behind us. “Aren’t you guys forgetting about me?” I turned toward the silver haired boy.

Riku was standing there, holding a rather large log underneath his arm. “So, I guess I’m the only one working on the raft?” He said

shrugging and then turning toward me he tossed me the log. Startled I waved my hands franticly to catch it. It landed into my chest

and I fell backwards from the weight. Laguna laughed. “Hey your just as lazy as she is he stated accusingly at Laguna.” “So you

noticed” Laguna shot back. “Okay, well finish it together” Laguna stated hands on his hips and legs spread apart dramatically. “I’ll

race you” he challenged to us. Riku dropped down beside me obviously already beat. “Huh?” I stated looking at Laguna like he was

nuts. “What, are you kidding me?” Riku said. “Ready!” Laguna said not acknowledging are unwillingness. “Go!” He shouted loudly.

Both me and Riku glanced at each other. He smiled warmly but his eyes were challenging. It had always been like this me and Riku

rivals for life and Laguna the big brother of the group. We both jumped up suddenly filled with all the energy in the world. We raced

along the shore laughing hair streaming behind us Still hearing Laguna’s laugh far behind us.
