Loveless Fan Fiction ❯ A Cat to a Mouse ❯ A Cat to a Mouse ( Chapter 1 )

[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]

Oh yeah this is a dark one. Soubi-centric and dark - what I like to delve into best of all.

Disclaimer: Loveless, and all things connected, belong to Yun Kouga and I can't leave out Yuji Kawahara since they wrote for the show which is where I'm getting my background. I am just a humble story-maker, I don't want nor did I receive any kind of compensation for this. Just want to be entertaining while I take a pause from my original work.

Final note: As always, please enjoy.

A Cat to a Mouse

This was all getting too far out of hand. It wasn't enough that the angel never went a minute without thinking about the one who wasn't coming for him, making the man feel more than inadequate—That wasn't fair, the boy did forget eventually and he was all he needed; much to his liking. Yes, he had given up, forgotten, and moved on and they were happy and the older one was honored to be the center of the others universe. His world, his ocean, his star splattered sky that he clung to and as he worshipped the young, beautiful creature, so was he adored. But now there was that slight problem. A nagging, burning, and wholly annoying problem digging away at his soul that if not taken care of could ruin everything he had worked so hard to accomplish. And if there was one thing that could be said about Agetsuma Soubi, it was that he took care of unsightly problems and made everything run smoothly to his partiality.

Speaking of “unsightly”, there was the little beast now. Soubi smirked as he waited in the shadows beyond the pool of light from the street-corner lamp. He wasn't stupid and he was not going to let this feigned innocent destroy his entire being. Did it think it was clever, this little rodent? Did it think that if moved slowly he wouldn't notice the blatant barging in on his territory? For this is what it was, his turf and he would be damned if he let this little, insignificant bug move in. Fast, skipping steps floated down the stone steps of the public library and carried his enemy away and he couldn't help but feel the gods were on his side. Divine sign of termination. He just needed to follow.

Games aren't meant to last, they lose their fun once they're dragged on and this one was not only unwelcome in the first place but was also growing most taxing on him. Soubi shoved his hands deeper into his pockets and slunk against the closed and empty buildings following his puny prey. For two weeks he noticed the change around him even if his love had not. He didn't hold it against him; he did keep his small Master's senses occupied so as to study the critter without the boy knowing. This little monster began coming around in circles. Each time swooping closer and closer until Soubi had to pull his treasure into an alley before they saw each other. It was then he decided this couldn't wait any longer, he gave the vile creature a chance but now a swift and silent death was the only thing to do to solve this matter. This wouldn't be the first time he had to do this.

Seimei just couldn't keep away from his slave. The words falling from that yielding mouth the night the snow fell sparkling around them fused his broken heart. At the time he told him the truth, he would rather die but he wasn't expecting his other half to stop by after he walked the boy home and tucked him in. The jealous teen saw them holding each other and needed to reclaim his lover. Seimei should have stayed away. The touches burned the artist's skin and the fevered and loving kisses repulsed him. What got him through the hours was imagining one day he would share something like that with his Master. Something akin but far more sweeter than empty fucking. And it was empty and he supposed he should have felt bad for doing something so underhanded as murdering his old lover in the midst of his serenity but he didn't. He looked at it this way, now there was truth in him being burnt to ash. Seimei shouldn't have given him the chance to be audience to the altruistic, beautiful wonders of his brother. Call him selfish but he could live with that and all his other faults.

He only always did what needed to be done. Right now, all he had to do was slip around the building and wait. This would be easy, swift, and he would be merciful. Soubi was doing it out of kindness this way. A fate worse than such an honorable end would come to this creature if their plans were put even further into action. Clutching several books, the little one ahead faltered to keep them in their hands and while they balanced on the icy sidewalk, the pantherine figure stepped into an alley and disappeared. Just as they sighed in relief at preventing a spill and started forward again, a long and muscled arm wrapped about the tapering waist while a cold, pale hand slapped over the pouty mouth and pulled them into a lonely and dirty alley. Soubi's heart barely climbed and he was all terrifying calm as he took sweeping steps to very back of the passage.

Shiny black shoes kicked out at anything they could to make noise, the books long forgotten in the street, and Soubi twirled away from the trashcans before they could be knocked over, wine colored coat flaring like a cape from an old vampire film. He tightened his grip on the wriggling mass of fighting nerves and the little mouse squeaked in his hold. This was going to stop right now. The body was spun around to face him and his long, slender fingers wrapped around the creamy neck and lifted it off the ground to dangle feebly a few inches above the cold cement. Cats always play with their food but Soubi was in no mood to indulge. The baby rodent shook furiously a moment; silver wisps of shoulder-length hair flew about the pale face tinged pink with cold and fear. Golden eyes locked onto his and recognition washed through the glistening orbs and the rosy lips opened in silent dread. Rage flooded his tall frame, this beauty cannot leave alive.

“Give him back.” He brought the shaking girl closer and hissed against her ear. Before the cleansing flames crumbled her away on the wind, Soubi saw to his relief that the abominable mark faded away from the blistering skin of the once downy wrist.

Fifteen minutes later Soubi was climbing up the lattice of the small house he visited often in the night. The thrill of what he accomplished pulsed inside his soul and he all but tore the curtains down coming inside the dark chamber. Shoes left by the window he prowled around trying to calm his nerves before making contact with the slumbering cherub. The essence of such an act, though done because of the purest love, would not touch his Master. With his coat and scarf placed on a chair he sat beside him and brushed the thick, silky hair away from the face he dreamt of night after night. The boy was a heavy sleeper, this he knew for a fact, and so he didn't feel nervous at all to pull the blanket down and then the hem of his pajama bottoms. Nothing but velvety, unmarred skin. The lion was triumphant in his hunt and he bent down to kiss what could have been a nasty wound.

An hour later and Soubi was staring at his spectacle-free reflection in the small bathroom. No regrets. Should he have felt something? To fight and beat opponents was one thing but he had killed outside of battle twice now. Never did he spill blood and yet he was covered in it. Drowning in life's magical fluid but not tainted. His hands cupped the cool water flowing from the faucet and brought several handfuls against his hot face. His blue eyes watched the drops of liquid roll down and off his regal chin and into the emptying sink. No sense of remorse, only that of being whole. It was enough to get him to sleep at night. A smile blossomed across his face as he saw one bare arm fall around his shoulder and another snake across his still naked waist. Lips pressed against his back, drifting up along his side, and ended on his shoulder with a tiny lick and nip. Violet eyes sparkled from behind him and Soubi leaned back into the warmth and sighed the name of the boy he worshipped.

Turning quickly, the muscular form picked the boy up as if he was nothing but a pillow and smirked as the giggling, blushing cupid bounced back onto the mattress. Skinny arms reached out to him and Soubi fell into them and crushed Ritsuka with his emotions until he was sure the boy would implode from his love. It wasn't his intentions of taking him when he came to his room but it had been close, he almost lost him, and he couldn't help being selfish. Not that he heard his now lover complaining. Soubi pressed down more as he nibbled his sweet treat and Ritsuka whispered his love for him and only him. With such a declaration, how could he feel guilt?

The night drifted on and Soubi held his prize in a protective embrace. Let them try and take him away. Lips lifted in a cruel smirk as he continued massaging his exhausted Master's shoulder blades. Ritsuka sighed in his sleep, unaware of the plotting going on inside his Fighter's head. The boy was his now, completely, and if another little ambitious rodent dared try and come forward he was just going to have to go hunting again.
