Once they were out of sight, Negi hopped on his staff.
"It will be quicker to fly." Setsuna, holding Konoka in her
arms, got on behind him.
The air was fridgid. Setsuna held the her closer
to keep her warm. Setsuna leaned her head towards Konoka's.
"Konoka..I love you." She whispered, barely audible.
Tears were forming in the samurai's eyes. "Please be ok."
They sharply descended into town outside the hospital.
Immediately Setsuna took off towards the entrance with
Konoka, Negi close behind. It all happened so fast.
Konoka was taken from Setsuna and placed in a room. With no
visitors. Doctors rushed in and out, refusing to speak with
anyone on the situation.
"I suppose I should contact her grandfather." Negi stated. He
gave her a desperate look, then left Setsuna alone outside Konoka's
room. People started coming. Konoka's grandfather, and closest
friends and classmates. They all asked Setsuna the same question
over and over. "What happened?" She could only shake her head.
Their guess was as good as hers, but she had a terrible feeling
that it was all her fault.
Hours passed, and there was still no word. Her Grandfather had begun
to send people home, saying he would let everyone know if something
changed. Setsuna refused to leave. " I cant, sir. I swore to protect her
you understand.." She said, barely looking at him. He nodded, and left her
to herself. Shortly after the doctor came out.
"Its remarkable that she's alive." Setsuna felt relieved instantly just
knowing that. "Its like everything in her just..shut down. We arent
exactly sure why just yet. She is awake, though. She keeps asking for a
"Setsuna"? Anyway, one visitor at a time, ill talk to her grandfather now."
Setsuna rushed into the dimly lit room. Konoka lay half asleep on the bed.
"S-Setsuna?" Konoka murmured. Setsuna touched Konoka's pale face. "Yes, i'm
right here." She reached down and took her hand, so that their fingers were
laced together. "Setsuna..I-I.." Konoka tried to sit up. So Setsuna came to her.
Konoka hugged Setsuna. "I love you ,too, Setsuna." Konoka kissed her on the cheek.
"I love you so much..Setsuna." She drifted to sleep, and Setsuna laid her down,
in complete shock. She sat down in the chair beside Konoka's bed. The girl she
loved more then life itself, just told her she loved her,too. Setsuna laid her
head on the edge of Konoka's pillow and closed her eyes. This couldnt be real.
