“So, what are we going to do now?” Jessica asked as she followed the two dressed in the black and red cloaks in front of her. They had paid and left the soup shop in what felt to her as an hour, though it was probably only fifteen to twenty minutes ago. Even after her food started to digest, she still felt the lack of energy she had lost from all of the drama she went through in the past week. She was relieved that Deidara was back to his usual self, and she didn't mind Tobi's company, though she did feel that things wouldn't be quite the same without Sasori around. It almost made her laugh from sorrowful memories, to think that she'd never have to butt into one of their art arguments ever again now that he was gone. Of course, they never had a bond form between each other, despite the long periods of time they were around one another. Being who she was though, she couldn't help but have sympathy for the cold man. With her Christian-like thoughts about how people really are, combined with her soft womanly heart, it would have been hard not to feel any sort of sorrow for his loss of life that most people wouldn't think twice about. She couldn't help but think that something in his childhood must have made him the way he was; no one was just cold and cruel for no reason what so ever, even if they say its not so. There is always, if you dig deep enough in ones life, something from their childhood that created who they became as adults. Thinking this, she then thought about what Deidara the way he was now. What made him add all of those `yeah' and `mm' sounds after each sentence he spoke? Why was he… the way he was? Jessica couldn't put her finger on it, but something about him held a strange aura about him. By now she was pretty use to his company, but something was still there, blocking her from seeing who he truly was. He was involved in this scary organization that killed people, and he wasn't very open… Something there made her wonder just how he lived his life before she met him, or even before he joined the Akatsuki.

“…What we were doing before we stopped to eat.” She heard master reply as she snapped out of her thoughts. Mentally sighing that she yet again only heard half of what one of the two was saying to her, she nodded her head as if she heard all he said. No use starting up an argument over a small thing; she just knew Tobi would add something if she asked Deidara to repeat himself.

“Right…” she said slowly as she looked around at all the different faces that passed by. Pausing for a second, her eyes held a glimpse for all but a moment as she someone who looked relatively like her Mother. Quickly shaking her head and telling her self to not think of home, she then found that she was starting to get separated from her group as the crowd started to larger. Pushing through a few people, she was able to get closer to the two who were somehow able to stay walking side by side though the jam. “If this crowd doesn't settle out, then I'll lose the sight of these two for sure!” She thought to herself as she grabbed on of their cloak's sleeve.

“What are you doing?” Deidara asked as he looked down at the girl who had a light grip on his clothing. Looking up at him, she paused for a second as she glanced around.

“I'm afraid I'll get trapped behind you somewhere in this crowd; it's getting fuller by the minute.” She replied as she started to loosen her grip on the almost semi-soft material. Looking around, he grunted a bit as if acknowledging her statement.

“We need to get out of this crowd, yeah,” he mumbled as he tried directing his partner and slave towards an ally at his left. “Tobi lets go.” He commanded as he looked back at his partner who must have just noticed that Deidara had gone another direction, since he was looking frantically around for them. Spotting them, he quickly made his way towards them.

“There you are Sempai! Where did you two go?” He asked in his usual yappy-go-happy tone.

“Right here,” the blond replied as he frowned at his partner who was unbelievably slow in many ways. Sighing as the man made one of his body gestures that showed that he must have been smiling, he turned and led them threw the narrowing dirt road that had few people treading it besides themselves. “Let's just get out of the village by jumping over the wall, mm?” He said to his partner as he glanced at him.

Tobi, who was now on Deidara's left again, nodded his head as the continued to walk. “Tobi didn't like the crowds much… Too many people get in the way. Over all, it should be faster if we just travel around the village; right Sempai?”

“Well if that wasn't the first intelligent thing I've heard come from your mouth.” He muttered to himself at a volume that only Jessica could detect. Giggling a bit, she covered her mouth with her free hand.

“Ya, I suppose that's the first time I heard him say anything that wasn't to try to annoy you or to make me laugh too.” Glancing over at the masked man, she found that he was looking down at her. After not being able to hold up her half of their shared stare, she dropped her eyes to the ground where she tried walking in sync with the blond.

“Jessica-chan is pretty funny, don't you think Sempai?” Tobi asked as he chuckled a bit. “You hit a jackpot when you bought her didn't you? How did you ever find such a girl?” Getting a mumbling reply no one could really understand, Tobi then leaned over enough so that he could stick his ear in the other man's face. “Huh, what's that Deidara Sempai? I can't hear you!”

“I don't know.” He shouted in reply, causing the immature Akatsuki member to stumble back and rub his ear.

“Yee'sh, you don't need to be so noisy about it.” He stated rather dully in a low voice. After a few seconds he jogged till he was back in pace and started to talk again. “So… How can you not know how you found her for sale? I mean, you had to be at a certain place to buy her right? Do you know Jessica-chan?”

“I have no clue where that place was… it was some sort of a sea port I think.” She replied as her voice became a bit more serious as the topic was brought up. Seeming to not see any sign in the girl that she was uncomfortable with the subject, he continued to talk.

“Huh, a sea port; where did you come from then? You don't look like someone around here… I mean, you've got such big, pretty eyes, and you've got pink skin!” He said as he looked down at her.

“Pink,” Jessica responded as she shrugged her head back. “That's my undertone, yes, but my skin is not pink!” She stated as she held her arm up to look at it. “I suppose you aren't use to seeing people with pink undertones… It seems that people around here tend to have yellow undertones… I'm a mix of a lot of different European nationalities, though I'm mainly German.” She stated as she unconsciously went off into her usual bio on her heritage. “My Dad is almost all German and has bright blue eyes and hair that is a bit darker than mine. My Mom though… I'm not really sure… She's the one I got my Hazel eyes from I guess, though her eyes look browner than mine. I guess I'm just one of those people who get the weird genes… Since my little brother has brown eyes.”

Looking back up at the orange masked man, she found that he was cocking his head to the side again to show that he was a bit lost in what she was saying. “German, I've never heard of that.” He stated as he rubbed his chin.

“Didn't think you would,” Jessica said sighing a bit as she closed her eyes. “I doubt anyone around here would get where I came from, even if I tried to explain… I'd probably get confused myself if I tried to explain.”

“Oh, well you don't need to tell Tobi now! We've got a long journey so we've got time!” He said raising his arms high in the air.

“Of course,” she replied as she looked back up at Deidara who returned her gaze for a moment before looking ahead again. “Lord, please help he survive this trip,” she prayed as she mentally moaned to herself. “I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it without your strength to help me along…”
