You put your feet firmly on the ground
Refusing to be moved from where you stood
But your standing still never stopped the world's turning

You covered your face with your hands
As though that would see your problems solved
But it didn't stop the fire from burning

This moment in your life is over
All you have left are scarred palms and broken feet
And those wounds, with time, will fade

You keep your eyes hidden, ignoring your tears
Refusing to acknowledge that you have been beaten
Will you never admit that you were afraid?

That's what it truly takes to be brave.
