Only Me
In a room, devoid of light,
Sitting in darkness, try as I might,
To uncover the mysteries that had taken flight,
From out my mind, and into the night.
I am alone, I know it so.
There's no one here, and that I know.
None of my friends, none of my foes,
Sitting here, in shadows low.
But I sense the prescence of someone near,
I see their silouette, but not clear,
I know them not, but still I fear,
That it is someone who shouldn't be here.
In my mounting fear, I turned on the light.
And with it vanished my fear and the night.
For you see, the one I sensed looking at me,
Was my reflection; it was only me.
