A poem for my English Lit Honors class that we are doing to go along with reading the Canterbury Tales. This one, because of the iambic pentameter, was hard to do, but once I kinda got the hang of it, this was the result. It's not perfect, but I like the way it seems to flow. Please, review for my muse's sake!

October Sky
 
Coming close to all hallows eve
Thunder and lightning she will see
From atop a mare of bloody bay
Staring at mountains not too far away
Black clouds starting to hang so low
Allowing winds to fiercely blow
 
October skies give way to nature
Who knew that camera would capture
A girl atop her bloody colored horse
Their hair blowing around of course
All but lost in the beauty of the moment
 
Upon the winds flew her whispered comment
“Forever in the light of the evening
Will never, ever have me lost to keeping
Mother Nature's true way of beauty…”
Forever lost to the skies, her secrecy
 
May her last few moments be joyous
Before what has struck takes all of us
 
It began a day before all hallows eve
And now he was left alone to grieve
She had passed away so suddenly
Leaving him to forever live lonely
 
Forever in the arms of ones we love
Take for granted what we try to rid of
October skies raining down with misery
Forever leave the mind to wander far away
Let those we lost live on within us
Forever in the arms of ones we miss
 
Allowing our memories to ride upon
October skies that have now tread on
The way we live our lives today
 
Forever she remains on a mare of bloody bay
