Ode to Phineas
Of soft brown eyes, the deepest chocolate,
And a muzzle, soft as silk, yet stubbly.
You run so freely, on long, thin legs
Hoof beats sound across the open pasture.
A regal creature, you are indeed,
No wonder it was love at first sight.
Fly, as you carry me Cross-Country,
And keep me safe as we jump over logs,
For all that you do for me is selfless,
And, what I do for you is worth it all.
