Not sure what inspired this one. It could have been the fact that I'm taking a Fiction course at Clark, it could be becuase it's just that time of year, I have no clue really. But I do feel like this is one of the best ones written so far.

Guardian Angel

From beyond the clouds

You make your rounds

Spread your wings when I weep,

Guardian Angel, as I sleep

Feather light caresses on my cheek

You check on me every day of the week

With a bat of my baby blues

You broke all of the rules

Defy he, who gives you wings,

Silver halos and many more things

Today is the day I've waited for

The day that you would give me more

For years and years, you've been with me

Not much for my eyes to see

With whispered words, of love and sight

You came to me with a smile bright

Never had I seen such a man

I hold on to you as tight as I can

In the blink of my eye

I made you defy

And as I sleep

I hear you weep

Of silver halos and wings

You say goodbye to all those things

For the first time in many years

I can finally feel your tears

Just hold me in your arms,

And protect me from any harm

My Guardian Angel, as we sleep

Forever more, you are mine to keep
