Star Girl
Shasha has never been in a situation like this before. She never
thought of herself as the prettiest girl in the room. The girl
never had that much luck with boys, let alone girls. Her three
older male friends didn't count. (Besides, they were lusting after
her mother now.) So, you could imagine how… rather unique this
situation was.
How do you turn down another girl without being an asshole? It had
became too clear to her that Carla was all too fond of her. At
first, the Russian girl tried to ignore it. Maybe she was imagining
it? If only it was that easy.
Shasha woke up to her phone buzzing by her bed. She mumbled to
herself as she reached for it. Who was trying to call her this
early in the morning? The girl slowly opened her eyes and looked at
the screen. At first, Shasha looked confused.
“Huh?” she asked. There was a new text from Carla. What was she
doing messaging her? Against her better judgement, Shasha tapped
her screen. That was enough to wake her up. She did not expect to
wake up to pair of boobs on her screen. Shasha's eyes widened as
her stomach dropped.
“Oh…” she said.
It was then she realized that she had to speak up and say
something. Shasha took a breath and started typing.
“Listen, we need to talk.” She thought about deleting the message
and started, but then she paused. After a few minutes, Shasha hit
send and sighed. She rubbed her forehead and laid back down on her
bed.
“Oh boy…” she said.
----------
Shasha doesn't know what to do. Her mother wouldn't be any help in
this mess that she didn't know that she walked into. Kirsa would
smirk when she would talk about her little “friend.”
“What's so funny?” her daughter asked three mornings ago. Kirsa
smirked as she tried not to laugh.
“You haven't noticed?” she asked. Shasha shook her head with a
bemused look on her face.
“Noticed what? Am I missing something here?” she asked. Kirsa just
made a little funny pouty face at her. Should she say something? It
almost didn't feel right. Almost…
“Your friend might be a bit too friendly with you,” the older woman
said. Shasha was about to ask what she meant when it slowly started
to come together. She slowly shook her head.
“No…” she said. Kirsa raised her eyebrow.
“You sure about that?” she asked. Shasha's eyes shifted back and
forth as the question just hung there in the air. It didn't help
that Kirsa kept staring at her. The poor girl jumped to her
feet.
“I have to get to work!” she blurted out. Shasha turned and ran out
the door.
“Have fun with your girlfriend!” Kirsa shouted after her. That was
enough to send her daughter running straight out the door.
----------
So here was Shasha in the middle of her unique circumstances
without a way out. Maybe it wasn't too late to stop it before it
got out of hand. All Shasha had to do was talk to Carla and let her
done gently. They could still be friends, right? Best to get this
over with before they had a mess on their hands. Shasha slowed down
as she felt her stomach turn.
She didn't have a good feeling about this.
