"Someone should check on Mr. McClain...he's been out there all day," Leia said as she looked out her window. "Even the workers left before dark..."
"I'll go," Rio said and stood. Gabe nodded as he slowly stroked Leia's back.
Rio walked out and down the stairs. Grabbing a coat, he walked outside to Patrick. "Come inside. There isn't enough light anyways. Besides...it's snowing and all the workers won't be back until morning." He looked up at Leia's window as she stared down. "She's asking for you to come inside."
He wiped his hands on his pants, taking the coat he nodded slowly. "Aye. I guess I should speak with her and it's get a bit nippy out here."
"Shower first..." Rio smirked as he looked at Patrick's dirty body.
"Right," he smirked as he looked down at himself. "That might be a good idea."
Rio looked up at Leia's window as she closed the curtains. He followed Patrick inside then walked up to Leia's room. Gabe was walking out as he opened the door. Together, they went to their room.
Patrick went to his room and showered to get all the dirt and grime off of him. Once he was clean he threw on his night clothes and started for Leia's room. Knocking on the door, he pushed it open. "May I come in?"
Leia nodded slowly and moved over on her couch for him to sit.
Walking over to her, he sat down, noticing the space between them. "Four days," he whispered. "In four days the wall will be done."
Again she nodded. "You don't have to work on it...I pay people to do that."
He bit his lip about the employee comment earlier that day. "I'm working on it because I want to."
"Why?" she asked softly.
"Because I want you to feel safe."
"I feel fine," she said sharply.
"I...know. I just want to get it done."
"You don't have to worry about that," she said and pushed her hair from her face. She shifted under her blanket and played with her empty cup. "Have you spoken with Samuel?"
"Not yet. I was going to call him before I went to bed," he explained. His hand reached ouch to touch hers, slowly wrapping his finger's around her tiny hand.
She let him hold her hand for a few moments before slowly pulling back. "Yeah...I'm sure he would like that."
"Do you want to talk to him?" He wasn't hurt by her action, he simply let his hands fall back into his lap.
She shook her head. "No. I'm sure him and Lilith would rather me learn to shut up."
"I don't think you need to learn to shut up," he whispered. Reaching out he stroked her cheek, letting his hand fall before she could pull away.
"I hit the girl for no reason really other than spite and dislike. Sure, she deserved a good hit but not from me. Maybe if her father didn't treat her like a queen she could have avoided the whole bitchy personality." His touch was still warm on her cheek and she ran her fingers over it lightly.
"He just cares about his daughter. That is all." He smiled as she touched her cheek. Hesitantly, he brought his hand up over hers. He didn't want her to flinch or jump at his touch, so he made certain to move slowly.
"Spoiling her isn't loving her. It doesn't prepare her for anything in life," she sighed. Her fingers moved from her cheek, allowing his to hand to stay on her hot flesh.
"No, but it's a father's job to spoil his daughter." His thumb ran over her cheek, his hand cupping her face.
"I think my father missed that lesson."
"Your father is bastard. He doesn't count."
Slowly, she scooted closer to him. "I'm not apologizing to them."
"You don't have to. I'll talk to them. I owe it to Samuel. I'm smooth things over. He's a good man." His other hand slid up to the other side of her face.
Her eyes locked on his. "Do what you want. I don't regret hitting her."
"I figured that much. You looked like you enjoyed that." His eyes stayed transfixed on hers as he leaned forward and gently pressed his lips to hers.
For a second, she pulled back, her heart almost stopping. However, as she looked at him, she didn't feel what she thought she would. She didn't feel Vince's hands on her or his lips on her skin. She just felt Patrick. Softly, she leaned back in, lightly pressing her lips over his.
He knew that he was going to have to take it slowly. When she pulled back he didn't push her. Instead he just waited for her to bring her lips back to his. He shared that kiss with her, simple, sweet, and loving. Finally he managed to pull back, just enough so that he could press his forehead against hers.
She couldn't remember the last time they had been together intimately. Before Vince took her, she was denying Patrick but only to have him prove his love for her. Slowly her hands went to his bare chest. His skin was so warm.
He looked at her hands on his chest. He didn't think she was ready for any of it. However, his hand slid down pressing on top of hers against his chest. Leaning in again, his lips found hers.
She kissed him passionately while bringing herself closer to him. Her heart was picking up and flashes of Vince's body pressed to her flooded in her mind. She pressed herself harder against him as Vince's lips kissed her neck. She tried to drown out the rough hands of Vince on her thighs but they were stronger. Quickly, Leia pulled from Patrick.
"Stop it!" she screamed as she shot up, standing and panting.
Patrick held his hands up, moving them away from her so that she would see he wasn't touching her. "Okay. It's okay, Leia. I won't touch you."
She took a deep breath. Nodding, she moved and sat on her bed, far from him. "I just...need a minute."
"Take all the time you need," he assured her. "I'm in no hurry."
She pulled down her night gown over her thighs. Getting a hold of herself, she patted the bed for him. "I'm ok."
"Would you prefer that I sleep in my room?"
"Are you ready for bed?" She nodded. "Right...you worked all day."
He shrugged. "I'm not too terribly tired," he explained. "Just a little worn out."
"Mr. McClain...run your hands over my thighs..."
"What?"
She look at him. "I don't think I can get any clearer."
Patrick stood up and walked over to the side of the bed. "Do you want to lie down or...?"
She slowly shook her head. "I want to watch your face."
He wasn't certain what his face had to do with it, but he nodded just the same. Staying on the side of the bed, his hand slid up her leg, slowly moving up her thigh. Leia tensed. Her eyes fell on his hand. Biting her lip, she grabbed his wrist roughly, keeping him from moving. After a few moments, she removed her hand then moved her eyes to his face. He waited for her eyes to meet his. His hand started up slowly, moving beneath her nightgown, barely brushing against her panties while he stroking her thigh.
Her chest was rising and falling slowly as she took deep breaths. "Say...something..."
"I'm not him," he whispered. "I'm only me. The person you love."
"Say it then...say you love me..."
"I love you."
His hand lightly stroked her and she pushed his hand higher. "Again."
"I love you," he whispered, his hand moved up, rubbing her through her panties now.
She bit her lip again. "Kiss my neck."
Leaning forward his lips ran across her neck, his breath rolling over her flesh.
Leia slowly pulled from him as her body started shaking. "Stop."
He pulled his hand from her and stood back, giving her the space he needed. This was...frustrating, but he wasn't going to make the same mistake twice. He was going to help her in whatever way he could.
"You should sleep in your bed tonight," she said softly and start to crawl under the covers.
"Okay. You know I'll be right down the hall if you need me. Good night, Leia." Taking a deep breath, he took a few steps back before starting for the door.
She laid her head on the pillow while nodding. Hours later, she tossed and turned in her bed. Sleep was not as easy as it had been before. Slowly, she slipped out of her bed and started down the hall. Turning the door knob to Gabe and Rio's room, she stepped in. Silently, she tip toed to Gabe's side of the bed. She stared at him for a minute before his eyes popped opened. Yawning, Gabe lifted his arm, opening the covers for Leia to crawl in. Without a word, she got in next to him.
Patrick fixed the light on the wall. Pulling his coat tighter around him, he placed another brick onto the cement, keeping it nice and even. If he kept up like this he could have the wall up in half the time.
Leia barely said anything to Patrick in the next three days. Gabe and Rio hovered over her but she kept to her room, watching from her window as the wall got bigger and bigger. It was only one day away from completion; however the metal work she wanted down was at a standstill. The metal gate she wanted to match her mother’s design hadn't even been started on since the blow up with Samuel and Lilith. And Leia hadn't gotten around to finding someone else good enough to do it the way she wanted.
Patrick sat there working on the final part of the wall. He was almost through, and he was glad that this task was just about finished. He nodded to the workers as he wiped the dust and grim off of his hands. "I'll be back. Try not destroy everything while I'm gone." Going inside he grabbed the phone and made a call. A few minutes later he had his driver take him somewhere.
"Where is he going?" Leia asked as she sat in her window.
Gabe walked over to the window and watched at Patrick was driven away. "Who knows? Maybe he's going to get you flowers," he smirked.
Leia laughed lightly. "With what money?"
Patrick looked at the work Samuel had done for him. "It's perfect," he smirked.
"Well I did have the blueprints for it," Samuel laughed. Patrick reached into his pocket and pulled out the cash he had been saving.
"That ought to cover it. Would you take it to Leia and help fix it in? I've got one more place to go."
Samuel hesitated but nodded. The gate was loaded up into his truck and he started off for Leia's.
Leia stood and pressed her hands to her window. "Gabe! Rio!" she said whipping her head to them. They rushed to the window and all three looked down. There was her perfect gate. It was the largest double gate in the neighborhood. Big enough for two cars to pull in at one time. "My gate..."
"Did you pay Samuel in advance?" Rio asked. Leia shook her head. "Gabe?"
"Don't look at me...I mooch off Leia."
"Then who paid for it?"
Samuel started fixing the gate, getting it set up as it was suppose to be.
While he did that, Patrick made a visit. It had taken him awhile to figure out where the dirtbag teacher lived. When he was going to America, he didn't have any huge boxes shipped which meant that there were certain items still in his house that he couldn't take with him. Items that didn't belong to him. It was child's play to get into the house. From there he took all the vases and anything he found that was of Leia's mother's to make up for the lost vase.
Leia, Gabe, and Rio watched the window as the works kept pressing the button on the inside and out side of the wall to make sure the gates would open properly. "Should we go thank him? Maybe he did it just to be nice."
"I bitched slapped his prize and joy...I'm pretty sure I'm not getting the thing for free."
Once Patrick was through looting the house, he made sure to leave a note in case that the teacher decided to come back home. Just as he was pulling up, Samuel was heading out. They met, driving past each other with only a nod. Patrick pulled up to the house and whistled to the workers. "I need help carrying this stuff inside. Be careful with it. You break it. I break you."
"He's back," Leia pointed out. She got up and ran out of her room when she saw all the boxes. Meeting the men at the bottom she looked at them. "What's in them?"
"Something that belongs to you," Patrick stated as he closed the trunk. "Come on inside and ye can look at them."
She followed him in as Gabe and Rio were peeking through the boxes. "Hey! Nosy!"
Once all the boxes were stacked up, Patrick took a knife and cut one open. Passing it to Leia, he let her examine the contents. Whether she wanted to keep them because they were her mother's or destroy them because of who they belonged to was her choice. Either way he felt that it would help if she had them.
Leia's breath was caught as she pulled one of the vases out. "How did you...I mean...why did you...this is..." Instantly Gabe started opening the others, pulling out more vases. "Oh my God...there are so many..."
"Ye told me that...he had quite a few of your mother's vases. When I stopped him, he didn't have them on him. After you broke yours...I thought that it was only right that you got to have what was left."
Her lips tightened. She should have been mad that he stole them...but they were her mother's... "Thank you..."
He just nodded. Moving to the front door, he gave her some space so that she could look over her mother's stuff. Meanwhile he wanted to look at the gate to make certain that it was properly latched and taken care of.
Leia had the maids and Gabe and Rio help her unpack the things. She spread the vases out throughout the house. She had no idea how Vince ever got to have so many of them. She didn't even know her mother made this many.
Patrick came back inside after a thorough examination of the gate. This house was now well fortified. All it needed was a few security cameras and motion sensor lights and it would be a regular fortress. He watched as Leia carefully placed her mother's vases around the house, a smile formed and he couldn't help it. He was glad to see some sort of happiness in her eyes.
The very last vase and the most extravagate one was place on the table the where the other one once was. Stepping back she smiled at the vase. "Perfect," she whispered. Turning to Patrick, she thanked him again.
"No need to thank me. They belong to you." She deserved them a hell of a lot more than that bastard did.
She nodded. Someone came in to let her know the workers were leaving for the day and she nodded. "One more day and it's all done."
"My aching back and arms are grateful for that."
"I told you that you don't have to work with them. If it's money you want, you just have to ask."
"You know I don't care about your money."
"I didn't say that. I'm just say that if you need money...you don't have to work for it."
"I'll go," Rio said and stood. Gabe nodded as he slowly stroked Leia's back.
