Mandy in a Daze

She watched it rain outside. Her mind started to wander off.

-Dreamland-

Notes danced around in the darkness. The background looked pitch black. Still, she could make out the notes popping up. They had a dull color surrounding them. She counted up each one.

One. Two. Four. Eight. Eighteen. Forty-two.

Each one had their own color. Mandy's eyes could barely keep up. Her ears tried to trace the sounds. At first, they didn't form a pattern. Mandy followed the notes as they started to line up. She waited for the music to play.

The notes lined up and started to play.

-Reality-

“Mandy!” someone yelled. The intern lifted her head and turned around.

“I'll be there in a second!” she yelled. Mandy stood up and hurried out the door.
