Pink Rabbit

Dateline: Jen and Sammi fell in love with the same man. Now they lost him.

It was four a.m. and everyone was sleeping, or really? Sammi awoke from fake sleeping. Then she rose out of bed and climbed out of the open window. Sammi went into the city. She watchfully looked around. The streets were dark and barren.

Perfect! She took out a small bottle of pink dust. Sammi opened it and mumbled something under her breath.

This will make everyone smile! She poured the dust onto the ground and a huge pink rabbit formed. Sammi looked up at the rabbit.

“Okay, Rabbit! Your mission is to bring happiness to everyone!” Sammi commanded the cute animal. The rabbit nodded and turned to the city. It struck its paw onto the street. The pavement turned pink. However instead of bright white lights spearing up from the ground, the pink color spread. Sammi's happiness turned into disappointment

Something's not right. Then it hit her! She used the wrong spell!

“Rabbit, stop!” Sammi yelled. But it didn't. Instead, it just hopped away. Sammi ran back to the Ketchum house for help.

“Ash! Ash wake up!” Sammi yelled as she shook the boy.

“Wha? Is it time to go to school, Mom?” he asked as he woke up.

“No! Ash, it's an emergency!” Sammi yelled.

“Yes, What is it?” he asked. When his eyes opened, the first thing he saw was pink.

“Wha? What the heck is going on here?!” he asked.

“I'm sorry! It's all my fault!” Sammi wailed.

“All right. Help me understand the deal here.” Ash said quickly. Sammi explained the whole deal.

So that would explain the freighting pink color, he thought.

“I don't know what to tell you, I'm only a `mortal'.” Ash said.

“Isn't there anyone that can help?!” Sammi whined to him.

“I know someone,” Ash said.

“Really?! Who?!” the frantic immortal of happiness asked.

“Jen,” he answered. That was the last thing the girl wanted to hear.

“Isn't there anyone else?” she asked.

“Ray, but she's only two,” Ash said. Sammi had no other choice but to ask Jen.

“But what if she doesn't want to help me?” Sammi asked.

“I'll come along and see to it she does,” Ash answered bravely.

“Oh,” Sammi said.

“Now one thing,” said Ash.

“Yes?” Sammi asked.

“Could you get off my bed so I can get out?” asked.

“Huh?” Sammi asked. She began to pick up what he was saying. A sweat drop formed on the back of her head.

“Oh right,” she said. She climbed off and Ash climbed out of bed. They both went to Jen's room.

***

“Jenny! Jenny, wake up! I need you!” Sammi yelled as she quickly shook Jen's arm.

“Wha? Why are you harassing me for?! Don't call me Jenny!” Jen yelled as she woke up. Then she saw the pink color.

“Okay. What's the deal?! Am I dreaming or something?!” Jen asked.

“It's real,” Sammi answered.

“All right! What did you screw up this time?!” Jen yelled in anger. Sammi explained the whole deal.

“And you expect me to help you, right?” the immortal of rainforest and friendship asked. Sammi nodded.

“Why should I help you?” Jen asked.

“Because I said you would,” a male voice said in the pink. Jen looked up and saw Ash.

“Poppy!” she yelled.

“So here's the deal: If you don't help Sammi, the city will remain pink forever. But if you help: The normal color will be restored.” Ash said, putting it in plain terms. Jen didn't like the sound of either choice.

So she thought for a minute and said, “All right! I'll help!” Sammi cheered.

“Shhh! Keep it down, would ya?” Jen barked as she put her hand over the other girl's mouth. Sammi nodded and the crew went off to find the bunny.

***

“So, how do we find this rabbit?” Jen asked with no enthusiasm and her arms folded across her chest.

“It's simple. It is a pink rabbit with its paw onto the street spreading the pink color everywhere in an area that's non-pink area.” Sammi explained as the three of them looked around.

Lucky the people haven't woken up yet, Ash thought. Then he saw what they were looking for.

“Guys look!” Ash yelled as he pointed to the rabbit spreading more pink into the city. The girls looked up and saw it. The bunny was turning a park pink.

“Rabbit, stop!” Sammi yelled. The pink creature looked up at her and continued to color the park. Sammi tried again, the second attempt was no better than the first one. Sammi kept calling the rabbit. It did her no good. Then Jen walked up to it and kicked it into the bootie. Ash and Sammi gasped. The rabbit looked up and turned to her.

“Jen!” Sammi yelled.

“Yeah, what?” Jen asked. The rabbit smacked her in the face. Jen fell and slid to her future dad and the immortal of happiness.

“You're not supposed to hit the rabbit,” Sammi explained.

“And like your commands to stop it worked?” Jen asked Sammi sarcastically.

“No,” Sammi said dejectedly. “But still you shouldn't kick the rabbit.”

“Oh, what was I supposed to do?” Jen asked sarcastically.

“I don't know!” Sammi yelled.

“Stop it, you two!” yelled Ash. The girls looked at Ash.

“What we need is a plan,” he said sounding confident. Jen leaped to her feet.

“All right, what's the plan, poppy?” she asked him.

“Uh…” he said. Ash hadn't counted on a plan from himself. Jen and Sammi waited for a response. Ash thought for a few minutes.

“It looks like we'll have to come up with one together!” Ash said finally. Jen and Sammi fell to the ground.

“Oh well, it's better than commanding the rabbit,” Jen said. So the three of them began to plot how to catch the rabbit. While they were plotting, Rabbit finished coloring the area and hopped away.

A few minutes later, Jen looked up and saw that the rabbit was gone!

“Uh… guys,” Jen said.

“Not now Jen,” Ash said.

“But guys….” Jen began again.

“Not now!” Ash snapped.

“But…” Jen tried again.

“Not now!” yelled Ash.

“Okay….” she murmured. Jen sat back down.

I hope they'll notice, she thought.

A few moments Ash came up with an idea.

“I've got it!” he yelled. Jen and Sammi looked up.

Why you couldn't have thought of one faster? Jen thought. She wanted to say that so badly. But instead, she said, “What is it poppy?”

“Come here,” he said. The girls complied and walked over to him.

“All right when I see go, Jen and I will ambush the rabbit and Sammi will say a spell to make it disappear. Got it?” Ash explained. The girls nodded. Ash turned and saw that the rabbit was gone. Ash fell frustrated.

“What's wrong?” Sammi asked.

“Where'd the Rabbit go?” he asked.

“That's what I was trying to tell you, Poppy!” Jen yelled as she waved her arms up and down.

“Well, why didn't you tell me sooner?!” Ash yelled back.

“You kept cutting me off!” Jen screamed back.

I better stop them before it turns into a shouting match, Sammi thought.

“Guys! Stop!” Sammi yelled. Ash and Jen stopped yelling and looked up at the immortal of happiness.

“We need to stop bickering and find the rabbit before everyone in the city wakes up!” Sammi yelled.

“She's right,” Ash said.

“Yeah, sorry Poppy,” Jen said.

“Good! Is everything settled now?” Sammi asked. Ash and Jen nodded in agreement. The three ran after the rabbit by Sammi's guide.

It took them about two hours to find the rabbit again.

“Look there it is!” Ash yelled when he saw it in another park. The girls looked and saw it there too.

“We're still following your plan right?” Sammi whispered. Ash nodded.

“One,” he said. Ash and Jen got ready.

“Two,” Ash said. Sammi's heart was pounding with worry.

“Three!” yelled Ash. He and Jen ran towards the rabbit. The creature looked up and teleported away. Jen and Ash ran straight into the wall.

“Try this again, right?” Jen asked her future dad. The duo tried this again and again until they finally trapped the rabbit.

“Sammi! Err! Now!” yelled Jen as she and her future dad struggled. Sammi nodded. Then the immortal of happiness quickly said her spell and the rabbit turned into dust! Jen and Ash screamed as they fell to the ground. The natural color returned.

“We did it!” Sammi yelled in joy. Ash and Jen were hurt but pleased. The trio just sat there in the grass when Ash remembered something.

“Uh… What time is it?” he asked the girls.

“It's seven o'clock!” Sammi said, gasping.

“I need to get to school!” Ash yelled. He got up, grabbed the girls, and ran back to his house. Jen found that really weird because didn't care if he was late or not.

Hmm… Maybe that perky weirdo is doing some wonders after all, she thought as they quickly made it back to the house. Sammi promised herself not to try that ever again.
