The quiet whispers echoed each other as the throng of worshippers slowly made their way up the mountainside. All were identically robed and hooded in white with red sashes around their waists. At the summit, the leader knelt down and lit a single candle, casting a faint golden glow about the area.

“Lord Tamago…” She whispered… “Please return to us…”

The night wind echoed, but as usual, there was no response. For a long moment, all were silent, and then they slowly began to walk back down the mountainside.

After the meeting, two peeled aside and vanished silently into the dark.

 

“So what did you think?” Lance asked, as he slipped out of the ceremonial robes with a shudder of disgust.

“The cult doesn't seem like a threat…” Red said carefully. “But we all know appearances can be deceiving.”

Lance nodded thoughtfully. “I would address it as a problem, but I'm more concerned about the rumors of a Snagem-Rocket alliance. I'm afraid this will have to be put on hold.”

“It's all right.” Red smiled. “I know that pokemon are definitely more important than religious affiliation.”

Lance nodded, and Red grinned brightly.

“So we're off to Orre to investigate then?”

“Most likely.”

“Cool.” The Champion happily linked arms with the Dragon Master, and they walked away from the throng.
