Dull silver wings glittered behind her, sharp-edged and looking like nothing more than two arcs of scrap metal. Her body was wreathed in tight metal bands and long, skeletal arms ending in sharp knife-like claws glittered. Eyes were wide-set, golden with crimson pupils. The new Shinigami peered around her barren surroundings with curiosity. The landscape was mostly barren, rocky land dotted with a few stunted apple trees here and there.

She spread her wings and began to fly. Soon, she spotted a familiar face, and dropped down. The other Death God stared at her in surprise. The newcomer seemed familiar, though she could not place it.

Her eyes flickered to above the other's head, searching for a clue.

“Meiji… Wataru…”

“Nakamura Red.” The other said. “I thought I would find you here.”

The other Shinigami blinked. “Find me?” She asked curiously. “Why?” She was of a different breed, wrapped in bright crimson leather with a coronet of gilded feathers on her head. Her ribs were curved out of pasty skin, inlaid with rubies set in gold.

“You don't remember, do you?” Wataru smiled. “It matters little.”

“… Do I know you?”

“You did, once.” Wataru said. “But it's been several years since we met.”

“I don't understand what you are saying…” Red said curiously. “But you are… nice.” The word seemed almost foreign.

Wataru just smiled, nodding as she settled her wings behind her back, used to the weight. “It's all right. You'll understand in time.”

Red nodded, and smiled.

Yes… they're both Shinigami… after Death Note. I'm assuming Red died first and her memories of being human slowly wasted away… wow that sucks. *Nod*
