Disclaimers: Ranma doesn't belong to me... ^_^ I wish it did!

Ten years passed since the deaths of their beloved parents. Akane
fingered the floating feather. At seventeen, she was the picture of
ethereal beauty. Her smooth, pale skin was flawless. Her hair was the
color of the deep blue sea, and her eyes had darkened into a deep
golden brown over the years. As stunning as her eyes were, they held
an amount of grief and sorrow that had been present ever since their
parent's death. Her beautiful eyes was narrowed slightly in
contemplation. Ryouga smiled. His imuoto had turned into an alluring
siren, emitting a sweet innocence as well as a mysterious wisdom. He
headed towards the slender, lithe being that sat amongst the many
flowers and still stood out. Before he approached her, she called
without even turning around, "Ryo-chan."

Their special connection enabled them to feel each other's presence
and emotions. He plopped down next to her, his blazing dark brown eyes
glittering with humor.

"Oy, Hime-chan."

Akane turned around and faced her beloved twin. If she was the picture
of heavenly, celestial beauty, Ryouga was the picture of a daring
attractiveness. With dark, chestnut brown hair and chiseled features,
he looked as if he was part of the earth. He radiated a masculine,
bold charm and his well-built and muscular body was the color of light
bronze. Many of the village maidens swooned over this male charisma,
yet Ryouga ignored every one of them, holding them in contempt. He was
not beautiful, but he was thoroughly striking in his own way. They
were twins and they were closer than they can be. For ten years, they
endured and lived in the mountains. They traveled within the forest as
if it was their second home, but they never ventured out to the
village willingly. The villagers usually saw them, when Akane was
called or Ryouga was accompanying Akane to her visits.

Akane was a healer and like all healers she went when she was called.
Ryouga disapproved of her practice but he never could deny her
anything she wanted. Ryouga will never care or help the villagers who
shunned them. Akane had very placidly helped them at their time of
need and had calmly smiled when they showed no gratitude. She simply
went through the motions of healing and then left. Ryouga slanted a
glance at her. They were twins and they were bound by a cord of
attachment, but they were different in many ways. He was more bold,
and headstrong. And he had to admit, he was a little hot-headed. But
Akane was emotional, but she hid those emotions behind a wall. She was
honest, but she didn't reveal her true self. He felt as if she was
holding a part of her inside, afraid to show this vulnerability to
anybody else, except to him. He noticed that she always willingly
helped the villagers, but she never laughed with them or mingled with
them...

Suddenly Morning Dew popped out of the clear river.

"Konnichiwa, Angel. Oh... you too pig-boy."

"Ryouga! That's my name, woman. Not pig-boy! Little blue freak!"

Ryouga snarled at his twin's sworn protector. These two never got
along, due to the fact that each wanted to protect Akane by
themselves. They glared at each other and sparks (of battle, not love)
flew. Akane giggled quietly.

"You two still act as you did ten years ago. When are you two going to
reach a truce?"

"No way, Angel. We two are just not compatible!"

"Yeah, Hime-chan. Don't even suggest that we ever talk to each other
civilly."

"And you, Morning Dew, when are you going to start calling me Akane?"

"Well, Angel, I'm hurt. I'll never trade in my special nickname for a
mere Akane."

Morning Dew stuck her tongue out at Ryouga, making him even more
angry.

"Heh~ Now that I think of it... I heard somewhere opposites attract. I
wonder..."

At Akane laughing statement, Morning Dew and Ryouga turned crimson...
with anger.

"How can you suggest such a vile thing like that, Hime-chan! I thought
you loved me!"

"Oh, Angel. How can you? Don't I matter to you? I will never be
attracted to such a pig-boy like him!"

At their wrath, Akane laughed. The wind carried her tinkling bell-like
laugh. Then, with a silver flash, a man appeared. His short silver
hair fluttered in the wind, and his pale blue eyes shone with a quiet
wisdom. He looked about nineteen, and he looked solemn. But his
serious expression didn't take away from his beautiful, elegant
features. His tall, lean body was clothed in a white tunic.

"Akane."

His rich, mellow voice stated. Akane smiled up at him and his eyes
flickered with an unidentifiable emotion.

"Konnichiwa, Tsuki-san."

Note: As many already probably noticed, Tsuki is based on Yue from
CCS. I was playing around with the idea of someone liking Akane, and
then I saw Yukito. And Tada! I made up Tsuki. Tsuki, however is
different from Yue. He is silent and serious as Yue, not to mention
handsome (especially with the short hair. I prefer short hair over
long.) as Yue. But Tsuki shows his emotions, although he has a hard
time with it. He laughs, as well. He also teases (with a sort of dry
wit).

"Akane, are Morning Dew and Ryouga acting indecently again?"

"Hai, Tsuki-san."

Ryouga sputtered.

"Tsuki, you're my guardian! How can you side with my little sister?!"

Tsuki raised his eyebrows.

"Just because I'm your guardian doesn't mean I can't side with the
truth."

"TSUKI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Morning Dew yelped and she was about to pounce on Tsuki. He
side-stepped her gracefully and Morning Dew fell in an ungraceful
heap.

"Better watch where you're going, Morning Dew."

He calmly said, ignoring Morning Dew's wrath. Suddenly, they all
froze.

"Someone's coming," Akane whispered. In a flash, Morning Dew dove back
into her river and Tsuki grew wings and flew up towards the sky. Akane
and Ryouga tensed.

And an old woman appeared. She was clothed in the traditional clothing
of the village. When she reached them, she halted, her head down.

"Please, oh please, celestial beings. Please help my daughter. She's
in great pain."

Large sobs racked her wrinkled frame. Akane and Ryouga stared at each
other. Ryouga glared at the woman.

"You have no business being here. Go!"

The woman shrank in fear. She was terrified, but her daughter was her
life. She couldn't give up, now.

"Onegai, I beg of you."

Akane silenced her brother, before he could speak. She gently
inquired,

"How bad is it?"

"She's writhing with pain, My Lady."

"I'll go."

"Hime-chan!"

"No, it's okay, Onii-chan. I'm going."

She quietly yet determinedly stared into her brother's eyes. They were
speaking to each other without words, now, through their link.

Are you sure?

Very. You know you can't stop me.

:sigh: Yes, I know. Yet, I wonder, Hime-chan... why is it that you
help these fools that hurt us?

It is my duty, onii-chan. Like it is yours to keep the forest.

Nani?

I'll explain it to you later... For now, I will leave.

...Fine.

Arigato... Don't forget to feed Aeril for me.

Okay.

Akane turned around. Lightning started to strike around her and one by
one, rain droplets fell. She smiled.

"Shall we go?"

Mrs. Kuonji felt a shiver go through her. She was terribly afraid.
Fear of the glowering young man. Fear of the Heavenly Twins. And Fear
of this beautiful young woman with the wistful eyes.
