Ok, I know some of you are used to either the dub names or Japanese ones. So, this is what I am going to do. I'll have two versions! Yeah that's right TWO! The first version will be with the dubbed names e.g. Serena, Mina and Lita. And the second the Japanese names e.g. Usagi, Minako and Ami.

* NOTE!* both versions are exactly the same and are in Usagi/Serena POV (point of view)

Chapter 1

New Beginnings

I can still remember the night when out kingdom was attacked. It happened all so fast, but I still remember when the saiyans attacked us. Yes, they snuck in and attacked us all. Why? For the silver crystal, but I'm getting off the point. Let me start from the beginning…

I awoke from the sun shining into my face. (lol, sorry that sounds kinda funny. They're on the moon and the sun is shining lol.)

I groaned, not wanting to arise from my warm comfortable bed. I sighed as I heard my maid Issureke banging on the door telling me to get up. I groggily stood up and made my way over to the bath. I ran it and while I was waiting I thought about Darien. Darien was the Prince from Earth. A soldier in fact, not that I really thought much of him, he wasn't exactly my 'type' you could say. I sighed as I rested my elbows on the windowsill in my private bathroom. Of course it was supposed to be private, until a bird came flying in and dropped a note on the cabinet and flew out again. Not stopping to think where it came from, I snatched up the piece of paper and quickly read it.

Dear Princess,

After you have finished your breakfast, would you please meet me in the castle courtyard? I have a surprise for you…

Darien

I sighed before hopping into my bath. I realized that I was late for breakfast and without a thought of the letter Darien had sent me, washed my hair before getting out. I dried myself and glanced back at the letter. I picked it up and bit my lip.

What does Darien want? I thought to myself, but I was snapped out of my slight day dream as Issureke started her banging again. I rolled my eyes before slipping on my gown and shoes.

"Princess Serenity, need some help?" Issureke called.

"No." I replied.

"Well hurry up, breakfast is almost ready!"

"Ok!" I said.

I quickly combed out my hair and tied it up into its normal odongo's before rushing out of the door. I picked up my skirts as I dashed down stairs to the dining area. I burst in and walked as elegantly as I could over to the creamy white marble table. I curtsied before my mother, Queen Serenity, before taking my place. Luckily, I was still quite early so I had the chance to converse with my mother.

"Good Morning Darling." Said my mother.

"Good Morning." I replied smiling.

"I have some news for you…" mother hesitated before going on. "Honey, you are old enough to understand now that, a race called the saiyans have declared war with us…"

I stood up extremely shocked.

"WHAT?!?" I shrieked.

"Princess Serena sit down!" my mother scolded at me. "They have asked for the silver crystal, I responded asking 'why?' they wouldn't tell me so they are coming after it themselves."

I blinked.

"We will fight for the crystal but you must be brave!"

"Yes…" I said as they cooks came out with our food.

"We shall talk later, as Darien has a surprise for you I do believe…" my mother smiled.

I cocked an eyebrow at her.

"How do you know?"

"Because I was informed on the surprise myself!"

I remembered what the note said and threw food into my mouth before rising.

"Serena!" my mother called.

"Yes?" I asked.

"Remember that there is a party on tonight." She smiled sadly.

"Yes." I said before walking out.

The courtyard was near the dining hall so I did not have long to walk. Though, I dawdled so it took twice as long.

I noticed that the security was tighter than before. I walked down the last set of steps and opened the gate to the courtyard. I could already see Darien standing in there. Without hesitation I snapped open the gate. Darien finally noticed me and smiled as I walked over to him. He bowed and took my hand before placing a soft kiss on it. I smiled, hiding my disgust.

"Princess, I am glad that you are here, please follow me."

Darien took long strides that I had to basically run to keep up with him. I noticed he was leading us around to the front of the castle. I frowned, wondering what it must be until I saw the carriages.

My eyes lit up as I saw 4 carriages. An orange, a dark blue, a red one and a green one. I shrieked with pleasure as I recognized who got out of them.

Mina came out first, her long blond hair flew around her like a blanket tied back with a red bow, I had always envied how beautiful it was. She was wearing an orange sleeveless dress and shoes. Ami came next with her short blue hair wearing a long blue dress and shoes as well. Lita came out wearing a long green dress, hr brown hair swishing behind her. Raye stepped out next, her red dress touched the ground as she flung back her long black hair.

I shrieked again and ran over to them. They saw me too and we all joined each other in a group hug.

"I haven't seen you guys in absolute ages!" I said. "I missed you guys!"

"We missed you too Serena!" said Lita smiling.

"Yeah! Happy Birthday as well!" said Mina.

"That's why were here of course." Said Ami.

"For your party!" Raye smiled. I smiled back, my head racing.

How do you forget your own birthday? I thought to myself as I started to mentally whack myself for my stupidity. The five of us linked arms and laughed as we all walked back up to the courtyard to chat.

I didn't know that, that would be the last time I would ever see them…

That Night…

I was sitting in my room, I didn't realize it would be the last time I would see this room. I was at my dressing table. I looked at my reflection, dark blue eyes stared back at my long blond hair was out as I was re-doing my odongo's. I sighed before picking up my comb and using it on my hair. I wound my hair up into the normal hairstyle before putting on the dress Issureke had left out for me. Mother had given me a gift, I was still in shock from the present. She had let me keep the silver crystal. It was rested on the moon crescent wand, which I was holding now. Mother had told me that she wanted me to stay safe and that no evil shall cross my way with the crystal protecting me. I sighed again setting down the pink wand and adjusting the bow at the back of my dress. I stood and caught my reflection in the mirror. My dress was a creamy white. The top half was tight with a light blue sash at the back. The bottom half flew out hiding my feet. I bit my lip and my instincts told me to take my wand, something was going to happen tonight…

I was walking down the stairs to the ball room area when I felt a chill run up my spine. I shivered and checked that my wand was secure. It was hidden in a pouch under my dress, I had used this idea a lot when I was younger to sneak food from the kitchens. It always worked, well almost. I quickened my pace, getting the feeling that someone was watching me. Typical, that when times were getting harder I was increasingly becoming paranoid. I just wanted some company! Almost at a run now I ran down 2 flights of stairs before coming to the wooden doors of the ballroom. I could already hear music and laughter inside. I opened the doors. On either side of me was a guard. I was in the top half of the ballroom and noticed Darien. I quickly rushed down the stairs and went in the opposite direction of where he was. I decided to keep a low profile that night, not wanting to draw attention to myself.

"SERENA!!"

I turned to the voice and smiled widely as I saw Mina and Ami coming my way.

"Hey girl!" said Mina.

"Happy Birthday!" said Ami handing me a gift.

I smiled and gave her and Mina a hug before opening it. My eyes widened in shock as my eyes saw what it was…

"King Vegeta sir, the moon kingdom are occupied, perhaps today would be a good time to attack?"

"Yes. Call Kakarott and his brats and my brat."

"Yes sir."

King Vegeta was the head of this 'idea' for the silver crystal. He had heard from travelers to his planet that the crystal bought great power, and power was what Vegeta wanted. Tonight though, he planned on catching the princess of the moon. Princess Serenity. He thought that if he caught her, the queen would hand the crystal over in return for her daughter. Vegeta would give them 5 days before he would execute the princess and launch an attack on the moon. The plan brilliant! But hard…

I hugged Mina and Ami. The gift was fantastic! It was a stuffed rabbit. Yes a toy but it meant so much to me! I saw my mother and Darien walking over to me and groaned before putting the rabbit back in the box and walking over to them. I curtsied and Darien bowed.

A new song started and Darien asked for a dance. I was going to refuse but my mother gave me a look and I took the offer. The dance had a fast beat and wasn't slow.

"Princess, you are looking beautiful tonight." Darien breathed.

"Thank you." I said. Stupid sucking up two faced… I thought bitterly.

"I hope that we can defeat the saiyan's and keep the crystal safe."

"I of course do as well." I agreed. If only you knew I had the crystal.. I smirked. Darien took no notice.

"Princess…I-I-"

"yes?" I said.

"I-I-L-…" Darien was cut off as two figures jumped through the windows. They were both male and what shocked me was that there hair was up and golden and there eyes a blank emerald. They both looked around, guards running and people screaming as they two looked at me and advanced.

Darien drew his sword.

"RUN PRINCESS!!"

The two were saiyan and was scared. I looked around desperately for Ami and Mina.

Where are they? I whimpered to myself as more saiyan came out. Three from the roof and five more. I was so confused that I didn't notice two of them come up behind me. I yelped as one grabbed my arms.

"Hello Princess." One voice sniggered. There was one in front of me and her was sniggering too.

"Where is the crystal?" the one in front said grabbing my chin. I said nothing and turned away from his blank emotionless eyes.

"TELL ME NOW!" he yelled a spray of spit hitting my face. I turned my head to him and spat on his face. He wiped it off and I rose a leg and kicked the one holding my arms in the groin. He bent over and I ran from them both, the one in front chasing me. I realized that my shoes were slowing me down and I kicked them off I was now running at a faster speed. I was at the staircase, most people having been evacuated. I remembered my rabbit and wanted to go back. I started but Darien stopped me, he was injured but I didn't notice as I dodged ki attacks made by the saiyans and tried to rush back. Darien held me back.

"You can't go back princess!" he said.

"I have to!" I hissed. He sighed before picking me up and flinging me over his shoulder.

"Put me down!" I screeched. As we reached the door Darien put me down and ran back in. The room was now caught up in flames and I realized Darien had been stupid to leave me there, because the two saiyans from before appeared in front of me, and before I knew it everything went black…

I woke up in a dark cell. I had hoped that that saiyan nightmare had been a dream, but alas, I was wrong. My Princess gown was ruined, wet and ripped in many places. I was bruised with cuts all over my body. It hurt so much just to move. I whimpered as two people came in. I think they were saiyans because they were men and had big muscles. They pushed me up and led me out of the cell, closing the barred sliding door behind them. I was then escorted down many halls, and finally into a main room. Sittings in the middle were four men. I gulped as the guards shoved me through the door and pushed me onto the floor in front of them. The man in the middle sneered. He had tall spiky black hair and dark black eyes the match. The one on his right had black hair also, but it was up at many odd angles. His eyes were black too. On this man's side was another man, he looked younger though. He also had black hair and eyes and I noticed a younger boy at his side. On the tall spiky hair man's left was another. I recognized his face from yesterday and I felt a pure hatred towards him. He had lavender hair and blue eyes. The tall spiky haired man laughed as he stood and spoke.

"Princess Serenity of the moon, we meet at last." He said. He waited for me to respond, but I wasn't going to give him the pleasure of gloating.

"Well? Can't you see girl? We are saiyans the strongest fighters in the universe."

I sniggered silently before speaking.

"If you are so powerful 'oh mighty one' why do you want the silver crystal?"

He hesitated the lavender haired boy speaking.

"It is said to bring great power." He said politely.

I stood up.

"I heard, from my teacher as a child, that saiyans were full of shit…" I was being smart and the looks on their faces were priceless. The man with hair at odd angles now stood and fired a ki blast at me, sending me flying backward and making a nice dent in the wall. I groaned as my back hurt.

"Do no speak to us like that ever again!" he hissed.

I smirked before getting back up.

"I'm not afraid of you." I spat at them.

"You should be…" said the man who had just hit me. "Guards take her back to the cell, we shall figure out what to do with her later." He sniggered as I stood and the guards yanked me hard and pushed me out of the door.

I was going to win this war. Because I had just remembered, I had the moon crescent wand with me…
