Sonic Series Fan Fiction ❯ Arranged (more like forced) marriage ❯ Trapped… or not? ( Chapter 1 )
Sonic, his siblings, and his mom were gathered in Sonic’s room in the palace.
Sonic huffed as he was fitted into his new tuxedo. “I don’t want to marry that girl, Mom.” He said. “Sonia and Shadow actually know each other and they want to marry. We can still have the peace treaty if they marry instead.”
“We’ve been over this.” Aleena said, straightening Sonic’s bowtie. “The kingdom of Mobotropolis needs to stay in the Hedgehog family. You’re the heir to the throne. Besides, according to the rules and customs of Mobotropolis, you can’t marry Sally.”
“That speiciest law needs to be abolished.” Sonia replied.
“I agree.” Aleena said. “I’m working on it, but we don’t have that kind of time. They say prince Shadow is a living superweapon. King Gerald has been threatening to, as he put it, unleash him on Mobotropolis.”
Manic and Sonic rolled their eyes.
“Yeah, right.” Sonic muttered under his breath.
Aleena clasped her hands. “Aww, my baby boy is so handsome.”
Sonic glared at her. “Yet you want to marry me off to a girl I never met for political reasons.”
Aleena sighed. “I know it’s not fair, Sonic.” She replied. “I didn’t like being made to go through an arranged marriage either, but I grew to love your dad.”
“That makes it better?” Sonia asked.
“I didn’t say it was.” Aleena replied. She checked her watch. “I have some business to attend to. We’ll talk about this later.”
Aleena left Sonic’s room.
Sonic took off the tuxedo.
Manic scoffed. “Her ‘business’ is tea with her buddies.”
“We probably won’t see her until dinner with the Robotnik family.” Sonic said.
Sonia buried her face into her hands. “I tried to talk sense to her.” She cried. “I really wanted to marry Shadow. I love him.”
Sonic and Manic sat beside Sonia.
“I’m sorry.” Sonic said, hugging Sonia.
Manic handed Sonia a tissue.
“I’ll think of something, sis.” Sonic whispered. “I promise.”
Late that night, Sonic got up and quietly tied his sheets into a rope.
“This is the only way I can be with Sally.” Sonic thought. “Sonia can marry Shadow since she’s next in line. Everything will work out well. I can come back home after a year or two or if Sal and I have kids, whichever comes first.”
He eased the rope down the window and quickly climbed down. He raced off to Sally’s house.
Sally crept out of her house and hugged Sonic. “I knew you’d run away.” She whispered.
Sonic kissed Sally. “We’ll get married tomorrow, before sunrise.” He said, picking up Sally. He raced off to Knothole with Sally.
