Sonic Series Fan Fiction ❯ Arranged (more like forced) marriage ❯ The problem and meanwhile in Tashistan ( Chapter 2 )
“Sonic!” Aleena screamed.
Manic and Sonia ran into Sonic’s room.
Aleena was standing by Sonic’s empty bed and holding a piece of paper.
“Where’s Sonic?” Manic asked.
Aleena handed Manic the note. “He ran off to marry Sally.” She replied. “He’s probably married and hiding out somewhere by now.”
Manic sighed in relief. “So he’s okay.” He said. “No big deal. Sonia’s next in line; she marries Shadow and we get the peace treaty.”
“It’s not that easy.” Aleena replied. “Technically you’re next in line because you’re a male. Remember when we discussed that last week?”
Manic’s jaw dropped. “I… now I remember it.” He said. “I don’t want to marry Amy.”
“I’m afraid you don’t have a choice.” Aleena replied. “Get cleaned up; call your girlfriend and tell her what happened. We have to get ready for dinner.”
Aleena left the room.
Sonia hugged Manic.
Manic pulled away and stormed off to his room, slamming the door behind him. He flopped down on his bed and called Sonic.
The call went straight to voicemail.
Manic huffed and waited for the beep. “Sonic, what the heck?!” He yelled. “You couldn’t take me with you?! You know I’m next in line and I don’t want to marry this girl!”
Manic groaned and hung up the phone. He glanced at the window, then got up to see if he could escape out the window like his brother.
Manic looked down from the balcony and saw several guards in the area. He sighed. “I can’t escape in broad daylight anyway.” He muttered. He went back to his bed and sat down as he called his girlfriend Surge.
“Manic?” Surge asked. “Is everything okay?”
“No.” Manic replied. “Sonic ran off last night. He’s gotta be married to Sally by now.”
Surge groaned. “And you’re next in line.”
“Yeah, babe.” Manic replied. “I’m trying to find a way out of this.”
“Do you want me to handle it?” Surge asked.
“That’s still my Ma, Surge.” Manic replied.
“Well, figure out something soon.” Surge said. “I’ll talk to you later. My break is over. Love ya.”
“Love you too.” Manic replied.
Surge hung up.
Manic laid on his bed, crying softly in case his mom overheard him and scolded him with some insensitive remark.
Meanwhile, in the kingdom of Tashistan, the Robotnik royal family prepared to go to Mobotropolis.
King Gerald straightened his coat as he oversaw the gifts that were being loaded into their limo.
His granddaughter, Maria, walked in with her adoptive hedgehog siblings Amy Rose and Shadow.
Amy was trembling as she walked over to Gerald.
Gerald looked at Amy. “Are you okay?”
“I don’t want to marry Sonic right now.” Amy said, her voice shaking. “I like him, but I never had a date with him. I don’t want to rush into this.”
“Well, Sonic ran off.” Gerald replied. “You’ll have to marry Manic instead.”
“That’s even worse!” Amy shrieked. “I don’t like Manic.”
“I don’t like this either.” Gerald replied. “I’d allow Shadow to marry Sonia, but Queen Aleena is being rather stubborn about keeping the family name and full control of the Mobotropolis kingdom.”
“Can’t you get me out of it?” Amy asked. “Shadow loves Sonia anyway. They can be together and we’ll have peace. Please?”
“I’ll try.” Gerald replied. “But no promises.”
Amy nodded. “Yes, grandpa.”
“I can try.” Shadow said, cracking his knuckles.
“You will not do anything that would be considered an act of war, Shadow.” Gerald scolded.
Shadow nodded tersely.
“Let grandpa try to settle it civilly.” Amy said. She leaned closer to Shadow.
Shadow glanced at Amy.
“If that fails, do whatever you want to stop this.” Amy whispered.
Shadow smirked.
Gerald happened to look over at them. “No to whatever scheme you’re concocting, you two.” He ordered. “Remember what I told you would happen if you decide to go rogue, Shadow?”
Amy slumped her shoulders. “Yes, grandpa.”
Shadow groaned.
Maria patted Shadow on the back. “You’ll think of something to say on the way to Mobotropolis.
