Sonic Series Fan Fiction ❯ Freedom or another prison ❯ Five years later ( Chapter 10 )

[ P - Pre-Teen ]

Surge sat in the garden, watching Kit play with the triplets since she was out of the game.

“Hey, no fair!” Glitch cried. “Uncle Kit has a cooler water gun.”

“It counts, just get Uncle Tails to make you a better one.” Surge said. She thought about that for a moment. “Actually, no, don’t do that. You three and your dad are menaces with super soakers.”

Glitch stalked over and flopped down beside Surge.

“Better luck next time.” Surge said.

Manic walked over. “Good news: Shadow and Sonia are going to be the new king and queen of Mobotropolis.” He said. “Ma handed it over to them so she can take an early retirement. We all can keep the estates.”

“That is good news.” Surge said.

“Bad news is Sonic already called the Emerald island house as his family’s new home, but we can visit or stay in his home when he and his family aren’t in town.” Manic said, sitting down beside Surge. “We got the place in Mobodoon.”

 Kit yipped.

“Got you!” Cyber exclaimed. “I win.”

“Awesome, dudette.” Manic said. “Hey, you three clean up and start packing your bags. We’re moving to Mobodoon.”

Nikòs frowned. “We won’t see Uncle Sonic or everyone again?”

“We’ll see them.” Manic said. “We have rings. That makes traveling so much easier. We’re having a special dinner tonight to celebrate.”

 “Oh, okay.” Nikòs replied.

 Kit walked the kids inside.

“Once we’re settled in, I’ll let you mop the floor with them at laser tag.” Manic said, putting his arm around Surge.

 Surge laughed.

“You like that house, right?” Manic asked. “I guess it doesn’t matter.”

“It doesn’t matter.” Surge replied. “I’ve had a lot worse.”

Manic rubbed Surge’s arm. “I know, babe.” He said. “You don’t have to worry about them again. Shadow made sure they got harsher punishments.”

 Manic’s phone chimed.

“That’s Ma, dinner must be almost ready.” Manic said. He helped Surge up. “Come on, Ma’s got everyone’s favorites since most of us are moving.”

 ~a week later~

Manic and Surge relaxed by the fireplace in their new home after putting the kids to bed.

“This is the life, huh?” Manic asked. “You totally look cute with your piercings and tattoos.”

“You too, Cute stuff.” Surge replied.

Manic grinned as he put his arm around Surge. “I hope this makes up for your past.”

“It more than makes up for it.” Surge said, laying her head on Manic’s chest.

Manic stroked Surge’s spines. “I’m glad, Babe.” He said. He glanced at Surge, who had fallen asleep. He gently kissed her forehead. “Love you.”
