"Why are we losing power?" Sonic asked. "What did we do?"

Manic rubbed the back of his head. "Go off mission." He coughed. "The Mobian guard is funding the mission and they're breathing down Tails' neck."

Sonic glared at Manic. "So this isn't the mission?"

"No." Manic said. "I just wanted to help this dimension's version of our sister."

Sonic sighed. "Bro, if that experience was real, our Sonia's not angry at you."

"I want a real home for once." Manic said, wiping tears out of his eyes. "We have that chance now and with our sister's alternate dimension whatever Tails called her."

Sonic sat down beside Manic. "You want to give up, huh?"

Manic nodded. "Mobius won't be rebuilt until we're close to a hundred." He said. "There's no counterparts of us here to cause issues. We can escape and have Sonia back… kinda."

"I hope Tails can send us back without the Mobian guard arresting him." Sonic replied.

"You'd stay?" Manic asked.

Sonic shrugged. "Why not?"

Sonic and Manic turned off the holograms and walked into Tails' lab.

"Sorry, guys, but I had to pull the plug on your medallions." Tails said. "The Mobian guard is ticked about you two wasting resources."

"How ticked?" Manic asked.

"Ticked enough to throw you in jail for the rest of your lives." Tails replied.

"How about banishment?" Sonic asked.

Tails shrugged. "Yeah, if they could."

"Then banish us at the dimension you sent us to." Sonic said.

"The mission was a dead end for what you wanted, but we saw our sister's counterpart." Manic said.

Tails got up. "Alright. I have the machine ready." He said, leading the brothers to his machine. "If they ask, I'll tell them I banished you to a desert island."

Sonic and Manic hugged Tails. "Thank you." They replied.

Sonic and Manic stepped into the machine.

"Goodbye, guys." Tails said, activating the machine.

"G'bye, Tails." Sonic and Manic replied.

The two brothers landed back at Sonia's house at the moment she walked back into the living room that morning.

"You're… you're not ghostly anymore?" Sonia asked.

"Let's explain this over coffee." Manic replied.

The three hedgehogs gathered at Sonia's kitchen table. Sonic explained the whole story.

"So you're staying?" Sonia asked.

Manic nodded.

"Awesome, but what do we do about my music career?" Sonia asked.

"You already have the contract, bought the wardrobe, and have natural talent." Manic said. "Sonic plays guitar and I play drums. We'll be your band."

"Miyu and the Sonic Underground." Sonic said.

Sonia grinned. "I love it."

Manic hugged Sonia as soon as their first concert as a group was a huge success.

"Your sister would be so proud of you." Sonia said.
