“I told you how I feel about revenge.” Sonia said. “It’s not right; it won’t bring back my brother and his family.”

 “It’s not revenge.” Shadow replied. “We don’t want anyone to go through what we have. There’s no way to completely bring down the Guild, but we can bring down Surge.”

 “That’s your spin on it.” Sonia said, rolling her eyes upward.

 “Then what do you want to do to make sure their deaths weren’t in vain?” Shadow asked. “Call in GUN? I checked Rouge’s journal. She said GUN is fully aware of the Guild and looks the other way on a lot of their activities due to Gerald’s contributions.”

 “So no justice for him?” Sonia replied. She nodded. “Okay, we’ll bring down Surge, but I’m hauling her to prison. No revenge or vigilante stuff, got it?” 

 “Fine, unless something goes wrong.” Shadow said. “Then all bets are off.”

 Sonia sighed. “I guess I’ll have to accept your terms.”

 Shadow handed Sonia a bulletproof trench coat. “You’ll need this.”

 “Yeah, if I was Trinity from the Matrix.” Sonia said, looking over the coat.

 “You’re facing the Guild.” Shadow replied. “We don’t have time to have a coat made for you. Wear my extra coat or risk dying.”

 Sonia slid the coat on. 

 “Keep your spines pulled up.” Shadow said, strapping on his holsters. “Follow my lead on everything.”

 Sonia pulled her spines into a ponytail with a thick scrunchie. “Right.” She replied. “So where do we go first?”

 “The hanging gardens.” Shadow said. “She hangs out at the resort there. A lot of the Guild members do. It’s like the Underground hotel.”
