Sonia sat down by Manic’s bedside and handed him the medallion. “I got this back for you.”

 Manic took the medallion. “I guess you know the story.”

 “I guess you realized you handled that poorly.” Sonia said. 

 Manic slowly nodded. “I know, I feel bad enough about it.”

 Sonia brushed Manic’s spine back. “You didn’t deserve to nearly die over it though.”

 Sonic marched into the room. “I don’t know if I should chew you out for taking a few years off of my life or hug you.”

 “I think I’ve been punished enough.” Manic said.

 “Fair enough.” Sonic said, sitting down beside Manic.

 Sonia gently hugged Manic. “I’ll let you rest and catch up with Sonic.”

 “Thanks, sis.” Manic said.

 “Oh, Shadow called your family.” Sonic said. “Mom’s picking them up. They’ll be here soon.”

 “Great.” Manic replied.

 Sonia left the room and met Shadow in the hallway.

 Shadow had a bandage on his arm.

 “You got hurt too?” Sonia asked.

 “It’s not a big deal.” Shadow replied. He hugged Sonia. “I could use a vacation. Want to go to Lake Valley?”

 “Sounds good to me.” Sonia said, smiling.
