Chapter One : The Dragon of Thunder found

“Ahh, let me go! What do you want with me Chase?”

Jack Spicer struggled against the binding that kept him pined against the steel able, while Chase Young stood close by, his expression cold. He looked towards the door and continued to struggle against the binding.

“Calm Jack, this will be good for you,” he said, drawing close. “You will finally be the evil villain you wish to be.”

Jack shut his eyes and groaned, lowering his head. “As much as I like that idea, I don’t think I like the way you doing it.”

Chase smiled, his angular features twisting into a look of evil. Placing his clawed hand against his pale face, he clawed him. “You’ll be fine. Oh Wuya, finally.”

The door opened and Wuya walked in, her green eyes flashing brightly. She walked over to Jack and pulled on the bindings. “You sure these bindings are strong enough?”

Chase nodded and removed his hand. “They should be.” He licked Jack’s blood off his fingers.

That seemed to make Wuya really happy and she raised her hand up and let energy coil around it. “Then let’s begin.”

“Alright.”

“Ahhggh!” ;
-----

It had been two years since the last Shen Gong Wu activation, and the last attack of evil. Even Jack Spicer had remained quiet, a little too quiet for the monks likes. So for one half of the year they would return to normal life, and the other half was spent at the temple. It was said by Master Fung that it was only a matter of time until the nest Shen Gong Wu activated and evil attacked. The only monk that hadn’t returned was Clay Bailey. He just disappeared but they were sure they would see him again.

Kimiko walked around the temple grounds, right outside the temples walls, a carefree smile on her face. She had been having a nice two years of her life, but was happy to return to life at the temple. Her friends were there. Well, at least most of her friends. She couldn’t help but get depressed when she though of Clay, no matter how hard she tried to convince herself he was fine. It was normal.

‘Kimiko… go to the spring close to the temple. Someone needs your help.”

A voice echoed through her mind and she gasped, almost falling over in the process. It almost sounded like Chase Young voice, but it couldn’t possible be. Why would he want her to help someone. It was probably a trap. Oh well, she made her way to the spring anyway.

The spring was in a nice corner of the temple grounds, with two paths leading in and out. She often visited the springs in the past when she had trouble thinking. The calming aura of the area helped to calm her mind. When she reached it though she wasn’t the only one there. To her surprise Jack Spicer was walking, if not short of wobbly, down the path. He was in no shape to even be standing up, let alone walking. There were large gapping holes in his sides bleeding profusely down his torn up red outfit. There were also scratches all over his face, a few were still bleeding. His eyes were barely open and blank as he walked.

“Jack Spicer? What the hell?”

As she ran over to help him he looked at her dimly and smiled, before falling to the ground. She managed to catch him before his face hit the ground and she sighed. She wondered what exactly happened to him to put him in such a state. She would have to ask when he woke up. She managed to bring him inside the temple before Master Fung helped her.

They brought him inside one of the many buildings and began to work on his wounds, though Master Fung did most of the work. As he worked they saw that he had plenty of old scares all over him. There were many burn marks and whip marks, along with what looked like claw marks. He had been put through hell, that much was sure. Master Fung healed all his wounds and at the end of it Jack seemed to be peacefully asleep.

“Kimiko, how did you come across Jack?”
“Well,” she began as she watched Jack, “I was wondering around the temple when I deiced to go to the spring. When I got there Jack was walking down the path. He passed out and I brought him here.”

Master Fung nodded. “He is very fortunate to have been found by you. From the grave state of his wounds, if you hadn’t found him he would have died.”

She nodded and smiled slightly. The thought that she had managed to save a life, even if it was Jack Spicer, trilled her. “I guess so. I better tell Omi and Raimundo what is going on.”

Standing up she left the room, going back into the sunlight where Raimundo and Omi waited. With that same slight smile she walked over to them and said, “Jack Spicer is in there, he got hurt badly some how.”

“How did this happen,” Omi asked, staring at Kimiko who shrugged.

“I don’t know, he isn’t awake to ask. But from the large amount of old scar he clearly went through it before.”

“You think Wuya has anything to do with it,” Raimundo asked and she nodded.

“She is a more torture person then a kill right away person isn’t she?”

“We will just have to figure it when he wakes up.”

“Yeah.”

----

It took Jack four days to wake up, but that was only because of the tiredness and blood loss he was recovering from. He opened his eyes and shot up, studying the room. He was afraid that he was still in Chase’s hideout, going to be tortured but when he realized he wasn’t there, he relaxed. He seemed to be in the Xiolien Temple, though he couldn’t remember clearly how he managed to get there. Looking around he sighed and stood up. At least, he mused to himself, he was out of that hell hole.

“Finally, your awake.”

Jack turned his head just to see Kimiko walking in, holding a tray full of food. She had changed a lot in the last two years since he last saw her. She was a lot taller, a little shorter then him still, and her hair was held back in a simple pony tail. She was dressed in the red robes of the Xiolien Temple, but it fit her form nicely. He suddenly remembered seeing her face before everything went black, and he couldn’t help but smile.

“What?”

As she handed him the food tray he blushed slightly. “You’re the nicest face I’ve seen in two years,” he stated honestly as he sat down on his bed again.

Even though she was caught off guard she managed to smile and sat down in a chair close by. “Where have you been Jack, it has been two years like you said.”

As he ate and thought of an answer, she got a good chance to look at him. He was a litter then he use to be, but only a little. His skin was still pale, and his was a shade darker then it use to be. It was also longer then it use to be. And maybe it was just a hallucination but did he seem cuter then he use to be? No way! She quickly dismissed that thought.

“I was at Chase Young’s hideout,” was his simple reply.

“Chase Young? That isn’t who I though it would be, but I guess I should have.”

“Wuya did most of the work, but Chase was there.”

Kimiko could help but wonder what else he could have gone through. What were they trying to gain?

“Why are you sad,” came Jack’s voice after a long moment of silence. She looked over at him and shook her head. “Don’t give me that. Even though I’ve been stuck with Wuya for two years and more, I can still read peoples faces. If you feel sorry for me though, keep it to yourself.”

As he ate she though about what she could say next, but nothing really came to mind. It was hard to decide because she had not seen him in two years. She really did feel sorry for him but if she told him that he would probably be angry. She wouldn’t blame him. When she looked at him again she way that he was once again watching her.

“What?”

He smiled his goofy grin and laughed. “Nothing!”

Just then Raimundo and Omi walked in and he smiled even brighter. “Raimundo! Omi! It’s good to see you! Why Omi, you have gotten tall.”

While Omi agreed, Raimundo walked over and smirked. “Seems like you haven’t changed. You’re the same goofball you were two years ago.”

Jack nodded his head and continued to smile. “Well maybe so, but you haven’t changed at all either.”

Omi walked over to him and said, “You seem alright physically, but what about mentally?”

“I’m alright!” He said in slight frustration but then gave Omi a look of reassurance. “I’m fine as long as I am away from that place.”

Omi nodded and seemed to calm down after Jack himself calmed down. With a slight nod, Jack stood up and stretched. “How long have I been out, Kimiko?”

“Four days.”

His eyes widened and he sighed. “All that time… I really have to get back home.”

He made to leave but the dragon of water grabbed his arm. “Chase is probably waiting for you there.”

“He’s right,” Raimundo said.

Jack paused and looked at the ground. He knew they were probably right, not about the person but the ambush. But he didn’t belong at the temple. Not after what Chase told him.

“I can’t stay here,” he said in a quiet voice, confusing the dragons.

“Why not?”

“I’m dangerous. Something happened to me in there. I can’t really explain it but I am dangerous.”

Omi walked over. “You have explosive power?”

“I guess you can describe it like that.” Jack showed them his hand as green blots of energy coiled around his hand. He then closed his hand up in a fist and then energy dissipated. “I could hurt someone with out meaning to. I would like to avoid that.”

“You have elemental power,” Raimundo said thoughtfully, “like us. Back when I first discovered my power I couldn’t control it. I came to the temple to learn to control my power.”

“Same with me,” Kimiko said. “Jack you need to stay here and master your abilities.”

“Me, become a dragon?”

“Why is that so hard to believe,” came Master Fung’s calm voice as he walked in. He placed a hand on the young man’s shoulder and nodded. “You have helped us plenty of times in the past. You helped us defeat Wuya. You even helped us in out fight with Hannibal Bean.”

“But those time were different. Those time I-”

“Returned to the path of evil. Now you are not sure how you feel about good or evil. Here at least you can find out you path in life.”

Jack lowered his head and thought. Master Fung was right, he had no idea what to do with himself. He didn’t exactly feel like going back to the Hayline side, but he wasn’t sure he wanted to become a dragon either. It was more welcoming though then what laid outside the temple walls.

“I guess I could stay, just until I figure things out.”

“And that is all I expect. As long as you discover your path, I am happy.”

Jack nodded and then turned to the others. “I guess I will be staying here for while.”

Omi seemed delighted as he laughed. “I though it might end up like this. I am so happy.”

“I finally get someone to kick around again,” Raimundo said quietly.

“What was that?”

“Nothing.”

Master Fung smiled. “Seems like you are already good friends. I can leave you knowing you won’t kill each other.”

Once he was outside the room Master Fung looked towards the sky and nodded. ’The dragon of Lighting has been found. That solves one problem. If only I could figure out where Clay went…’

----

“Jack here! Catch this!”

Jack had gotten pretty use to the daily line up of the Xiolien Temple in the few days since he stared living there. You would wake up early, do your work, then train. You would eat three meals a day and they were actually pretty good. Better then Jack remembered. They would also have a hour and thirty minutes of free time everyday.

During this hour and a half of free time they played two on two basket ball Jack was on Raimundo’s team and Kimiko and Omi were on the other tem. They were having a pretty good time until Master Fung interrupted them.

“Jack?”

Jack had been in mid-jump when he head his voice so he shot his basket and walked over. “Yeah, Master Fung?”

“I have decided, after speaking to my fellow monks, to give you the position of Dragon of Lighting.”

“What?”

“As I said, we have made you Dragon of Lighting.”

“But why,” he asked. His mind raced with hundred of questions but he wasn’t sure how to ask most of them. His mind practically throbbed because of it. He tried to figure out the reasons behind Master Fung’s actions but couldn’t. He eventually decided that he just must be insane.

“This may sound strange put the position of dragon of Lighting has been prophesied for a long time. I didn’t know who it was until you used your power. The dragon of lighting would have green lighting.”

Jack looked at his hand as energy coiled around his hand and then vanished. “I don’t know. It doesn’t seem possible. Me, a lighting dragon?”

‘Believe it Jack,’ said a gentle voice in his mind. ’I knew it since the beginning.’

‘Then why didn’t you tell me?’

Jack deiced not to wait for the answer and shook his head, forgetting the voice in his head and then turning back to Master Fung. “I guess I am going to have to go along with this. I have to figure out who I am and maybe this will help.”

Kimiko put a hand on his shoulder and he turned to look at her. “Don’t worry, you’ll figure things out.”

He nodded and then looked towards the sky. Boy, this was going to be interesting.
