[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]
I really should be studying for biology… Apologies if these chapters are really short… that’s just how I write Chapter 4               King Asen was certainly not what Yami had expected. He was huge, bulging with muscle and with fat as well, dark skin leading to a plump belly, legs like tree trunks…           & nbsp; Yami bit down the loathing and utter disgust in his heart as he was presented, dressing charmingly in sheer linen with gold bedecking his figure. He could see the man leering at him.             He did not like that.             Of course, he could feel Mahaado’s quiet anger beside him, but it was comforting…. To know he was not alone…           &n bsp; It was nice having someone around who understood… and he did have his secret weapon…                The feasting lasted long into the night. The King wanted to show off, and show off he did, and Yami kept his face still and his voice serene and quiet and his body never betrayed the emotions raging in his heart.             Worthless human…            & nbsp;  < You despise him. > Mahaado’s voice was welcoming in his mind, though he wasn’t quite sure how their strange communication came to be, but he did not question it. It was useful. The ‘girl’ lifted kohl-lined eyes from the polished marble floor and met Yami’s.           & nbsp; King Asen was luckily too drunk to notice…           & nbsp; Foolish man.             Yami felt Mahaado’s presence clearly, as the older teen was not that far away. He smiled as his ruby eyes glinted with suppressed rage.             Perhaps they would tear him to pieces and drink his blood…            & nbsp;  No, human blood was not that tasty, unless crystallized, but ah, the homunculi, now that was heaven…           & nbsp; Of course, in a pinch, wine did wonders.             He scarcely touched the food at the banquet though. It was most likely poison, and even if poison didn’t kill homunculi for long, he had no wish to go through such an unpleasant fate….           &n bsp; The feasting eventually ended, though, and it was off to the bedroom.              ;  Yami closed his eyes and tried to convince himself that it would not be that bad. It failed miserably, and so when the King came in and attempted to… harm him, he let Mahaado take care of him.             It was so easy.             Humans were so easy to kill…            &n bsp;  “I suppose it’s lucky your power is what it is, is it not?” Yami asked, as they lay entwined between silken sheets.             “Of course.” Mahaado whispered in his own voice. At night, no one entered, but during the day, they had roles to play…           &nb sp; And so they would play them.             &n bsp; “You make me jealous, sometimes.”          &nb sp;  Mahaado met his Prince’s eyes in confusion. “Jealous?”         &nbs p;   “Strange, is it not, that I envy you?”           &nb sp; “Perhaps if you were me, you would never have gotten betrothed, my Prince.”              “True, how circumstances can be so unpleasant…”         &n bsp;   “But even the worse defeat can be turned into a victory.”            ;  “Such a Shadowed Game… indeed…”              “Isn’t it?”            &nb sp;  No one would have any reason to suspect that the King was anything but satisfied with his new ‘wife’…         & nbsp;   Perhaps conquest could be termed a better term?
            ; Well, whatever Yami counted as, it would have made him quite angry had it not been for his faithful friend…                Within days, the negotiations had been completed, and though Pharaoh Akunumkanon mourned the loss of his son, the truth was that he preferred his country.             Sacrifices must be made of the good of all. If one falls along the way to save the world, well, what of it?             Selfish? Perhaps. Logical? Only too much…            &n bsp;  “I suppose it is lucky I have you…”          &nb sp;  Mahaado grimaced as he shifted. “Disgusting man.”           &nb sp; “What happened today?”           & nbsp; “Several girls were rather… forward. I had no idea he could be so… encouraging.” Every syllable dripped ice, venom…           &n bsp; “Mahaado, I know tis hard for you…”          &nb sp;  “I would do anything for you, Prince.”              “That’s what I love about you.”            &n bsp;  “I know you love me.”           &nbs p; “Then why do you find it so odd?”           &nb sp; “You’re the Prince, and I am only…”          &n bsp;  “You gave me life,” Yami whispered, meeting Mahaado’s eyes. “You saved me, not those idiot Healers. You did…”          &nb sp;  “But I changed you into… like myself…”              “Hush, you did what you thought was best, and I much prefer immortality to the afterlife that may wait us someday….”         &nbs p;   “Prince….”        &nbs p;    “I do wish you would use my name, Mahaado.”            ;  “I cannot, my Prince…”              “Oh, for the love of Ra…”           &nb sp;   Still, it was an interesting little quirk, and it was kind of… arousing when Mahaado called him by title in bed…           &nbs p; Yes, very interesting…          &n bsp;  Still, there was one disadvantage to being in Ethiopia. They could not mine the Nile for the red water that brought life… Luckily, Mahaado had brought several vials on him. As they were human, it was rumored that the red stones would be absorbed into their bodies and Yami was fairly sure this was happening. Oh, it was painful, at times, but he could distance himself from the pain, until they became fully immortal. He wasn’t sure how either of them would react to a mortal wound, if they could heal fast enough…           & nbsp; Mahaado was his anchor. And the Prince did not want to let him go. Ever.             He needed Mahaado, and Mahaado needed him. So it wasn’t precisely love, but it was quite enough for both of them. For now...             & nbsp;           The crystals were sweet on his tongue.             “You were prepared after all…”          &nb sp;  Mahaado gave him a shy smile. “Of course, Prince…”              Because what kind of magician would he be if he weren’t prepared?   End Chapter Completed 10/6/05 Kk, I love Mahaado and Yami ^^               ;                            & nbsp;
