Call me insane… ^^I take it as a compliment! Disclaimer: I wish I owned YGO. It belongs to Kazuki Takahashi. All I own is 37 books of manga in Chinese… Chapter 3               “Atemu, something is wrong.”           & nbsp; Yami nodded absentmindedly as he moved a single piece on the senet board. Akunumkanon fixed him with a stern glare.             “This is no game I am playing, Atemu!”           & nbsp; “Then, honored Father, pray tell me, what is wrong?”           & nbsp; “I do not know, but I sense a dark presence… the items…”          & nbsp;  “But Father, the Items were created to bring peace and prosperity to our land and to protect our land from foreign invaders, were they not?”           &nb sp; “This is precisely what worries me…”          &nbs p;  Yami hid a smirk. Hopefully, Mahaado’s experiment would be completed within the hour and then he could feast…            & nbsp;  Mahaado and Mana, or, Lust and Sloth, as their homunculus forms might later be termed, watched impassively.           &n bsp; “We’re not true homunculi, you know.”           &n bsp; “You mean the fact that we still have our Ka, and thus, our soul?”           &n bsp; “No, not that.” Mana said. “I just feel as if we are still human.”           & nbsp; “How odd… but I suppose as we are not failed human transmutations, simply humans who were lucky enough to come into possession of the red stones and suffer no ill effects from their presence…”         &nbs p;   The prisoners screamed in unison and there was a bright flash of red. The light died down and Mahaado smiled as he withdrew a fist-sized chunk of stone.             “It’s done.”           &n bsp; Mana smiled as she broke off a piece, teeth easily turning the crystal into mush and swallowing.           &nb sp; Delicious. Human lives to power his or her own…            &nb sp;  He sensed the slight swell in power through his bond and he smiled at his father as Akunumkanon lost another game.             “Father, I’m going out to find Mana and Mahaado. It is almost time for my magic lessons.”            ;  The man nodded, releasing his son.             Oh he worried and how he fretted over his child. He had been worried about Yami’s health ever since his sickness years ago, and though he had never succumbed again, the Prince was still weak, and resembled a child in appearance…          &nb sp;  If only there was some way to save him.             Akunumkanon felt the Puzzle at his neck pulse and he worried. Oh, how he worried… his son…            &nb sp;  “I would have thought the future Pharaoh would have had a bit more self-control.” Mahaado teased gently as he watched Yami tear through the crystal.             Yami gave Mahaado a glare, but with no real heat behind it.             Pride….           & nbsp; Yes, it fit, didn’t it? Prince and future Pharaoh of Egypt and he would truly live forever… live forever, my love…           &nb sp; Love? That is such a strange word to use, but I suppose it is what defines us. I can hardly fault these actions as loyalty…              Mana yawned and slipped into the role of bubbly student once again, and Akunumkanon was successfully distracted from his brooding when part of the palace caught on fire!             He watched as the Priests put it out with their Ka monsters and Mana was severely reprimanded.           &n bsp; Perhaps he was thinking too much…            &n bsp;  “You’re not well enough…”              “I’m perfectly well, my dear Magician… you made sure of that…”          &n bsp;  Seto paused as he heard voices emerging from Mahaado’s Chambers. This was interesting. He pressed to the door and listened closely.             “Prince…”          ;    “Now, show me…”          &nbs p;              What? This did not seem to be a normal conversation. However, as he looked inside, he saw Mahaado summon his Ka monster, and bit down a sharp intake of breath. It seemed that the weak Magician of Illusion had finally evolved…              It was larger at least, and looked more imposing, but was that all?             &nb sp; Yami nodded, summoning his own monster. How interesting… Mystical Elf in defense…              The magician focused bright green power, and the mystical elf was destroyed. Yami flinched somewhat, but was not seriously injured.             He watched as Mahaado poured his Prince a glass of wine and Yami summoned another monster. Bah. Dueling inside the palace?             Well, it was his loss…            &n bsp;  Mahaado smirked. “Fool.”          & nbsp;  “He is only a mere mortal…”              “Pharaoh…”        &nbs p;    “I am still only a Prince, Mahaado, no matter what we may have planned for the future.” Yami responded as he traced a line down Mahaado’s cheek.             “Do not fret, my Shadow Spellcaster…”         & nbsp;   Mahaado did not dignify with verbal response. Yami might look young, but there were certain things he did do, and no…             ; His father didn’t know.             &n bsp; Akunumkanon looked at the papyrus, then at the messenger, than back at the papyrus again.             “My son? They demand my son?”          &n bsp;  “I’m afraid so, my Pharaoh. The Nubians were quite adamant upon this point.”           & nbsp; Well, Akunumkanon had no other children, so it was a sore blow indeed…                “So.”          &nb sp;  “It seems I’m being sent off as a peace offering.”          &nbs p;  “Odd, how they seem to want you to marry their king, is it not?”           &nb sp; “Yes…” The Prince nodded. “I’m bringing you with me. Mana will stay here to keep an eye on the situation.”          &nb sp;  “I understand, my Prince.”              “However, I doubt they would be pleased if one of the six elected priests accompanied me. It could be seen as a sign of…”          &nbs p;  “Future assassinations?”         &nbs p;   “Yes…”         &n bsp;   “However, a personal servant or two… that is not out of the ordinary.”          &nbs p;  “Of course, my Prince…”              “I knew you would understand.” Yami said, as he ran his fingers through Mahaado’s long hair. “My dear Monster…”           ;   Mahaado smirked. He had no illusions, he knew what he had done was forbidden, but as long as he had his Prince, he did not quite care… and he was a monster, in a way, not human, but unlike some others, he was quite proud of it…             ; Yami smiled as he watched the Ring fade, sliding under skin to mask its presence. Mahaado’s eyes dulled, replaced with a subdued brown. Long hair shimmered and became jet-black, piled with layers of gold threading, clothing shifted and covered sudden curves and height dropped…              An adorable-looking bed slave met Yami’s amused eyes.             “Yes, this will do nicely…”            ;    Of course, the foreign king didn’t protest, and so two slipped into a land not their own, ready to rebuild Egypt’s glory…   End Chapter Completed 10/6/05 Please don’t die ya plotbunny!            &nb sp;              ;                             & nbsp;             &n bsp;
